My all time favorite golf course. Immaculately maintained. Great views. Great staff. Great pace. Equals great times.
My all time favorite golf course. Immaculately maintained. Great views. Great staff. Great pace. Equals great times.
Not for the faint of heart. Tough course from the white and blue tees. From the tips, forget it. Brutal! Some black tees add close to 100 yards and margin of error is next to zero. Overall, a great course for nearly any caliber of intermediate+ player. Not a place for beginners.
Poor management on the course, If you want to enjoy your golf day find another place, range is free with complimentary fruits and towel.
Great course. You need to know where it is okay to miss on each hole. Nice risk reward decisions on a lot of holes. Course logos stamped into the bunkers is a nice touch.
Beautiful course, very pricey but incredibly fun and humbling
Awesome course! Beautiful terrain helps create fun and challenging shots. Top level service across the board. Great conditions and greens. Tip 1: Watch the hole flyover on the GPS screen to get helpful tips for each hole. Tip 2: On the 18th tee, walk up to the highest tee box for an amazing view. Bring your driver, it's too tempting not to fire a drive from that high.
Challenging, but forgiving, course. With beautiful views
Hands down one of the best courses in SD! Great price as well. Inland golf but fairways like carpet
Had our company holiday party here. The venue is quite nice and the food was good quality with good selection of both traditional holiday favorites and some great vegetarian options. The staff was friendly and attentive.
What an incredible course. Great staff, friendly and accommodating. The ice of play was a little slow. Course is fun, breathtaking, in great shape and has some really cool holes. Would 10/10 play again.
Currently stuck playing behind the owner. Round is taking forever as his group is putting us way behind pace.
Course and greens are in great condition. Challenging course and good food.
This is a quality golf club and a demanding course...the last 4 holes will get your attention!
Great course, good breakfast, good customer service
Covid crazy. Best shape I've played in a long time. To expensive.
Wonderful scenery, great layout, don t always pull your driver out on the tee, the Marshall Gary is very helpful and friendly, highly recommend this course, one of the best in San Diego, everyone makes you feel at home, course is not for beginners
Challenging yet beautiful course with a large clubhouse and great views.
very good shape. green condition was super. could not find divots. last three holes are too tough with many traps.
one of the best golf courses that I have been able to play in my life, I would put more than five stars if I could, the attention is super attentive to the players, the food is super good ...
Great course, great staff, can not wait to return to Poway to play this course again
Great place to golf. Drives can be long and forgiving here. Love the seclusion.
Very nice golf course, not easy one. Lots of services on top of just that. Cart, water, cleaning of your clubs at the end of the course and many more
This was the first time I've been here and was not disappointed. The patio was lovely and peaceful, and the view overlooking the golf course was great. Had the pear and Manchego salad with seared ahi. Absolutely delicious. The ahi melted in your mouth! Will be back again!
One day yo Boi faze rug aka Brian is gonna throw a golf ball from his house to the golf course and make it
Came down for a 4 days of Golf and hands down had the best time here.. A must play!
5 hour and 1/4 round. Pretty course but so slow. Won t go back
Love the beautiful atmosphere outside on the patio at Maderas. The food is delicious, and the service is good too.
Outstanding course. Playing Torrey Pines this morning & Maderas this afternoon. I ll take Maderas anytime over TP, especially for the money. Course in great shape from tee box to green. Absolutely gorgeous views and a challenging course.
One of the best and most challenging courses in Southern California. Conditions and staff are consistently excellent.
Annual golf trip. Great staff. Great course. Always challenging. Little crowded.
This is a very beautiful and very challenging course. We played with members who graciously shared course intelligence. That made a difference. Greens are in excellent condition. Pace of play was good - finishing a weekend round in four hours. Staff is friendly and helpful. Great day.
Beautiful course but challenging. You will use your entire bag to get through it. Shot shaping is a big plus, but accuracy is most important here. One of the best courses in San Diego
Beautiful golf course! Extremely challenging layout with very fast greens.
One of the best golf courses in San Diego, in fantastic condition. Great service and experience, highly recommend Maderas!
Beautiful course, in great condition. First time here and had a very enjoyable round. Tend to really dislike Johnny Miller designs, and while some of that was relevant at this course, it seemed to play a little more fair in comparison to some of his other courses I've played. Will definitely be back.
One of the best courses to play in San Diego. Great service and well manicured course. And also a beautiful location.
What an awesome course!! We will be back!! Customer Service was awesome!!! Very welcoming!!
One of the best golf courses in California. A real treat to play, the greens will be your best friend if you play the holes right. Stay in the middle and you will score just fine. Do not be hero and try to hit the shortcuts. The condition of this course is tournament ready. Since the upkeep is on point. The tee boxes are well kept and the greens are pure. There is nothing bad I can say about this golf course. I would play this course over and over again if I can get a good deal on the rate. Thanks Maderas!
Interesting course, far from traffic and distractions. Very good for a public course
The course from tee to green seems so challenging. You need to play smart shots and if it is your first time playing, just realize that you may gain strokes just because you need to hit the ball in the right place. But, it turns out that is the easy part. The true teeth of this course are the greens. Have fun and remember there is such a thing as a good three putt!
Weather was fantastic today. Highest rated course in San Diego. Must play this course.
Loved this course! In the best shape of any course we played in the area. The course is challenging and the greens have serious undulations with extreme subtleties. Friendly staff, beautiful clubhouse, great range and putting green. A lot of fun holes with big elevation changes and forced carries. Target golf. Bring some balls. A must play!
No more Wednesday hamburger night, but still great food and golf!
Very nice course. Well worth playing. Hope to come back next time I'm in town.
I was a tad disappointed by a previous favorite spot of ours for Sunday lunch. Their prices have more than doubled since last year and their portions have decreased. Also, upon checking out the waitress, and most likely other staff on hand, could not figure out how to divide our bill between 3 separate parties at our table. Extremely frustrating trying to explain simple math to these folks. We all ended up paying more than we should've from the original tab!!
So, until I hear from a friend otherwise, we won't be going back for food anytime soon!
Incredible course layout
Great greens
Well worth it
Charge $55 to use driving range and short game area. I m not sure if that is typical for the San Diego area, but I thought that was worth noting to people before making the drive to visit this golf course.
Very deceiving layout. The elevation and slopes appear to be subtle, but this course can be challenging if you haven't played here before. This course has elevation changes, some narrow fairways, some open fairways and you get a fair amount of opportunity to play some good golf. Very good course conditions even in winter time. Would play here again.
Decent place to hold weddings and special events. The ballroom can be sectioned off for smaller events. The food is ok.
This is a great course a little difficult greens are awesome good food and a cart girl that actually shows up
Beautiful golf course with a country club services.
Always a good time can be a little warm in the summer
Very nice course with tee shots you have to plan and greens I wish I had time to get to know. Next time I come to San Diego I will be back.
What a beautiful course!!!!!! Played here in August, and the conditions were AMAZING. Top notch service, facilities and staff. I was going to play Torrey Pines but, there was a tourney going on. My local head pro told me about it and I'm glad I listened. Is it pricey? Sure, but you get what you pay for here. Can't say enough great things about the course. The ONLY thing I would like to see changed is, a separate cart for singles getting paired up. It was kind of awkward riding in a cart with someone you don't know. Would love to go back again. Another GREAT Troon course
Mmmm it's closed all week till I think Fri, Sat, Sun. A bit dry...its pretty and from I saw is wide open....
Outstanding golf course, great layout and extremely challenging undulations. Fairways and greens well maintained. Carts have GPS with extremely accurate yardage approaches. Staff, including the starter are friendly, courteous and well versed on course conditions and pace of play. Parking is plentiful and venue is easy to find via Google maps. Bar and on course beverages cart are an added bonus. Will definitely be returning to challenge the course layout.
Course is in great shape and excellent playing conditions!
Great course and superb conditions. Played here midweek late morning. The course was fairly empty at that time but lot of golfers are started going out around 1:00PM. There is a decent proshop, where you need to go for check in. I was able to go out earlier than my original tee time. The cart has navigation and really helped navigating the course. It also allows to order food from cart so it will.be ready by the time you turn around at 10th tee. Greens were super fast and fairways were well maintained. Only negative was ground staff was not at all courteous. On 4th the guy just drove thru when the group was middle of fairway ready to hit their second shot. On another hole, maintenance guy was cutting the grass, and did not bother shut down engine for 2 minutes while group was teeing up. Besides this incidents, overall it was a great experience playing this course. The whole round was under 4 hours with multiple mulligans and breaks.
Fantastic golf course it is!
Top class lay out and perfect fairway with beautiful green..
But it's so difficult..
Beautiful course. A lot of fun to play. Just make sure you bring some extra balls for this course. A bad day and you can easily lose more than a few of them. If you get the chance to play it, highly recommend.
Nice layout. Unfortunately grass was dormant so it lacked some of the beauty I'm sure it would have had if everything was green. Nice course
great course! well maintained. friendly staff. had such a great time we came back a few days later and played it again. will play it again on my next trip to the area! i want to mention again, every employee we came in contact with, from the pro shop to the cart cocktail service.... to the restaurant staff made us feel welcome and appreciated.
Went here for a wedding, and was quite impressed. Very pretty golf course. The facility was nice and servers were kind.
The staff at Maderas are kind, professional, and helpful. From the grounds crew to the bartender, everyone goes above and beyond to provide exceptional service, all with a smile. The course is in prestine condition and surrounded by scenic veiws. Incredible experience, I will return every time I am in San Diego.
