My son left Condorcet with a mention TB in bac S. He entered by his work in the school which was his first choice APB. In the end what amply satisfy the wishes of a parent. However .... what exactly is it. Teachers of poor quality: a teacher of English in 2nd and 1st who for all teaching gives lists of 250 words to learn by heart, who withdraws a point when a pupil forgets an accent on his first name. In the end a son disgusted with English. A French teacher who does not invest because he is in charge of a class of S and as he says "the s do not interest me" In the end an unfinished program for the French bac and the obligation to find a private teacher at 50 per hour to finalize the preparation of the French bac. Thanks to the Superprof site. A principal who admits to me these weaknesses in appointments.
All this would be anecdotal if when I asked my son and his friends "what do you remember from your 3 years spent at Condorcet?" ... they replied "nothing". A teacher? A teaching? An experiment? No nothing. A stay? Output? No nothing. Yes! the studious atmosphere. Yes! the blond heads which reassure the parents for whom the diversity is good but not for their child ..... in short a high school with the methods of another age anchored in its certainties and its flattering classifications which do not invite to question and embrace current issues. We understand why French education is relegated to international rankings.
In the end, if it had to be done again, would I re-enroll my son in Condorcet? I have the honesty to say yes ... sacred pressure which does not encourage you to take the risk of enrolling in a suburban high school where teachers and principals are obliged to show new things !!! Last info: bac S mention TB, it is absolutely useless in APB. The selection is made on the 1st and 2nd quarter terminal reports. The bin will make a beautiful wall decoration.
