Lux Resorts Maldives Review

Amazing place for relaxing vacation . No compromise on quality. When in Lux go for the pool water villa . Their spa was spectacular . Only thing which i felt could be better is the food. We tried all of their restaurants but didn't find anything extraordinary, the breakfast buffet spread was huge though

I give five stars to this resort. We were not expecting such a beautiful view with perfect service. We have the with the plan of breakfast and dinner included.

We are frequent holiday makers and have travelled to many high end resorts around the world and for us a good hotel and standards is a must.
Third day at Lux and would normally not take time out whilst on the holiday to leave a review however I am highly impressed with the excellent, warm and friendly customer service. Upon arrival we had a issue with the villa we booked however the manager Nadiya straight away moved us to a more comfortable villa as she understood the importance of her guests to be comfortable. She also went the extra mile and accommodated us to a water villa for our last night to make it even more special that shows how important guest are to lux Maldives. All the staff at this resort are extremely friendly, helpful and accommodating. The food at all the restaurants so far is very good. And would highly recommend their resort.. The hotel head manager personally comes and visits all the guests and provides high personal card for any information or advice or concerns..
But nadiya in particular made our experience better.

An amazing island, one of the best destinations in the world to relax and enjoy a real vocation.
We were three couples and had the best suits on the island with a private pool, and directly on the sea. The weather was incredible. The food was excellent and we had tried all the restaurants on the island. We also used the Spa center and enjoyed all different kinds of massages. The atmosphere was fantastic and the people very welcoming. Overall an unforgettable experience and we would love to come back. For sport lovers they can enjoy Tennis, water sports and exercising etc... For nature lovers the sea cruises available are incredible and you have many options to choose from. You can also do scuba diving as beginner or at advanced levels. I strongly recommend this trip for wedding trips or lovers trip.

Because of a poor service and a low quality/price value, I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

The experience we found the most disappointing was our forced departure at 3pm, 8 hours before our flight. At the exceptionally high price we payed for the transfer, we expected better than that. We have requested a late transfer to the airport, but even though there are flights till 6pm, our flight was scheduled for 3pm.

Overall service was way below average and unacceptable for a 5 star hotel.

- Our fan was broken during our entire stay of 2 weeks (it worked only on the slowest speed which was not even noticable) and every once in a while our air conditioner was making horrible noises in the middle of the night waking us up.
- The stuff was very inconsistent regarding reservations. In Senses we were firstly told that to get a table on the beach we just need to come early and that reservations were not taken for the tables on the beach, while some other day we were told that we had to make a reservation and that all the tables on the beach were already booked. Even though we were told that a restaurant was fully booked, there were still many empty tables and around 9pm most guests were leaving and no guests were coming leaving more and more available tables which for some reason were not available for new guests.
- We were billed $80 for the drinks we already had covered by our All Inclusive package.
- The stuff in the shop was extremely inconsistent. One day I was told that a piece of jewerly was made of a real flower on a silver chain, while another day another person told me that it was made of plastic and the chain was some cheap metal and not silver at all. I did not know what to think about all that and did not buy it as I initially intended to.
- The stuff in watersports center was also inconsistent. Once I made a call to make a reservation for a snorkeling trip at 9h30 (the time mentioned in our leaflet) and I was told that there was no such a trip. I insisted that it's the time mentioned in the leaflet, but the person on the phone insisted that there was no trip at 9h30. So I had to walk all way down to the watersports center to find out why the information in my leaflet was incorrect. What I found out was that the information was actually correct. It was the person on the phone who gave me wrong answer and refused a reservation for no apparent to me reason. I have booked the trip directly in the watersports center.

There are much better hotels in Maldives at the same or lower price than Lux. We were totally in love with Halaveli and Moofushi, but we'll stay away from Lux.

Luxury at its best. This resort is 30 mins south of Male. But you will find finest corals and sea life here. Many resorts in maldives have constant disturbance of sea planes and flights taking off and landings at Male. This resort is far from any disturbances and is an example of ultra luxury. The always ever so polite staff makes you feel at comfort alwaysm

I absolutely loved it here. The staff was nice, the activities were great, and I don t even think that I can come up with any cons. I was able to make friends with various buggy Drivers and staff members which made the experience even better. We are also repeat guests since we absolutely loved the place. The food was also amazing, which was good. It s really expensive so be aware of that. I really recommend this place for anyone out there.

At LUX, you will be treated like an unwanted visitor and with much disrespect. For this price point, you would be expecting the most amazing vacation of your life. But not at Lux- oh no. the staff will make it seem as if you are doing them a favour by being there, and management will stick their nose up at you. We did the all-inclusive package and found out that coconut water was not part of it!

The resort is beyond basic and quickly deteriorating. Having to walk over 1 KM in the boiling heat because the shuttle never came is horrendous. If you order anything to the room, be prepared to wait over an hour and have to constantly call and check up- we just wanted more mosquito spray and non was made available to us.

Take your money and spend it at the other hundreds resorts that will appreciate your business.

Would have given them more than 5 stars if Google had the option.. stayed there with wife and 6 yr old son.. loved the place and staff. Good food options. Can easily spot manta rays, reef sharks and a large variety of fishes from the resort. Recommend taking the all inclusive package if you re travelling with young ones since everything consumed in the restaurant is chargeable including water..

Literally the best place we ve ever stayed. We recommend this all the time to anyone we talk to about the Maldives.

We traveled 2 adults. We traveled July 19 and the flight was at night so it was very comfortable. When we arrived we lost a word on how wonderful it was . the service and those who worked on the island were absolutely wonderful.

We were lying out on the cabins (the biggest ones) Could jump out in the water when we wished :) There were also 5 wonderful restaurants the food was lovely :)

A simply amazing place. A sense of paradise. White beaches, turquoise waters. Palms sloping into the sea. Delicious restaurants (we have not had time to eat them all yet) The least recommended at the moment is a tapas restaurant called beach rouge which is more suitable for a snack for lunch and less for a meal. The buffet at the fish market is good and you can ask them to prepare exactly what you want. So you can sew a meal the way you want. We all loved the Indian restaurant although some complained about the spiciness, it was really really tasty for me
Today we will go to Italian and update later. The staff is really helpful and gives a really good feeling. Excellent room service. Huge bed (a little soft) Spacious room, huge shower! Water sports, snorkeling, diving with a professional team. Kayaks, pedal boats, jet skis, jet skis. So many things that not sure we will get everything in a week. Highly recommended !!!!

The memory of a wonderful vacation comes back to life when I see pictures of this island. I spent 2 weeks there with my partner, completed a PADI diving course, met rays, sharks (very nice, by the way) and dolphins while diving and then consumed a total of half a year from the 14-day relaxation and deep relaxation on this island . Great restaurant, great entertainment options, the sea just gorgeous, the beach = white. In January when we were there, there were several afternoons when we were all alone on the beach. You can really relax there and find absolute peace. The locals are generally very friendly and accommodating. What I have only seen there and nowhere else in the world: the island was swept once a week by local women. I long for another longer vacation there or on a comparable beautiful island in the Maldives.

The place, the rooms, the food, the staff are all amazing!

Very good resort. Unfortunately no house reef with corals on the island. The eateries are very good. At lunchtime the selection is unfortunately very limited and mainly burgers are offered.

The island is 1.8 km long and has long sandy beaches. Therefore there are also many families with small children here.

The first thing to do is to have fun, the staff only want to help, there are a lot of things on the island, there are plenty of employment options with children, the rooms are very pampering, the breakfast is rife! It has everything you dream, I highly recommend to come !!

This short message review will definitely not help you describe it. Place , food , staff, other guests! God ! This is one of very few places that you don t feel like returning to home . You may even cry cos you want to come home . This will give a rough idea how the heaven looks. Must Visit place atleast once in your lifetime .

Amazing! Tons of things to do. The service was amazing and the view, the rooms and the overall experience. Lots of crabs and sharks on the beach and in the water, lots of places to take a photo of... The only weird thing is drinking water at dinner. It costs around 7$, we just brought our own bottles.

I had a wonderful time here. Food was fantastic and the service was perfect and very helpful. Last but not least the room and the environment here were simply the best. Will be back soon.

This place is fantastic. Staffs are so friendly and always smiling and greeting at you. Food is delicious. We lived in the beach villa with pool and the signature water villa which on our honey moon trip. Highly recommend family or new couple to come visit this island resort.

The best hotel I've been ever in my life until now. I had a dream like honeymoon here. I would recommend it 100%. The rooms are big and clean. The service and the staff treatment were remarkable.

The Lux* hotel on the south Ari atoll is one of the higher end resorts in the Maldives. As being such, you get all what you'd expect from a top level facility. What sets Lux apart from its competitors, in what is a highly competitive market, is its subtle stylish unique branding which permeates every aspect of the Lux experience. From its website, it's lounge at Velana airport, it's reception, the rooms and even the activities on the resort itself. All feel connected to central concept which is "Lux"

In terms of dining, there are a couple of restaurants to choose from, all of which are high quality. For some of them though you will have to make a reservation beforehand or you will be turned away. That was a bit disappointing, considering everyone is on an island and if you get turned away your left with either in room dining or eating at the restaurant which serves a buffet. Some flexibility would be expected when you are paying top dollar for a hotel.

For sports activities, again the usual suspects are available to select from including diving, snorkeling, jet skis, sailing, tours, etc..There is also a good beach volley ball set up if you have enough people to play with. The island the resort sits on has a superb lagoon which boasts beautiful clear calm and shallow waters with lovely hues of blue and turquoise. Excellent if you want a relaxing snorkel, or have very young kids with you. Additionally, the resort is close to an area where whale sharks are regularly spotted throughout the year (no guarantee you will see one though). Finally, some other worthy things to mention are the stand alone library (which has a great selection of books), the junk art studio, the tree of wishes, the kids club, and the treasure hunt held on the island.

In terms of service, the hotel staff are all highly capable, friendly and respectful. Its pleasant how everyone greats you and smiles. Also, I love that I never had to call for a buggy to get from one point to another. The layout of the resort helps since it's a single path that goes up the island, and there are always buggies going back and forth. This is important to note since some other resorts aren't as efficient when it comes to this. It may be different if you are on a villa which is further away. In those cases you may need to call for one. I had a small annoyance when I arrived. My luggage took over an hour to get to my room. But a minor issue that could written off.

Best place I have ever visited and I am very well travelled. Cannot fault a thing. Food was incredible, staff were so friendly especially Ali at the Lagoon bar and Riley in Alegria. Everything is paradise from the moment you land as the staff are waving to you from the sea plane! They even clean your room 3 time a day! Thank you everyone for making our honeymoon amazing.

The food was excellent, if you re Indian and vegetarian I would suggest you to go to mixe for breakfast and dinner , chef Umesh is excellent at his work . We liked the VEGETARIAN food because of him

I have been to many very good hotels, and comparing them with LUX * I can say: if you want to be a particularly welcome guest, then you are at LUX *. Even my own people don't often indulge me with such attention and care :)

We been in this beautiful resort. The staffs are very friendly and helpful. The restaurant and food it's just delicious. It's very clean in the hotel and rooms. The kids club it's so nice for the kids. And our son had just fun in the kids club. Carline did fantastic care for our son in the kids club. It's Was just perfect holidays.

Amazing island, top resort with the beat experience you can imagine of!!

My wife and I took a ten night stay here in one of the luxury romantic over water suites.
Upon arriving at the airport in Male you're whisked off to the special LUX waiting lounge which is where the all inclusive experience begins. After a short wait for other arrivals you're loaded onto the seaplane and fly for approx 40 minutes to the resort.

This was my second trip to the Maldives, we'd stayed about 8 years ago for our honeymoon but the budget was a little tighter back then so we'd always promised ourselves the full luxury experience. LUX resort exceeded all expectatiions!

Flying over the Maldives in a seaplane is an amazing experience and there really is nothing like it, it's unreal. Upon landing at LUX resort you're greeted by all the main staff and management. Check in is completely stress free and you're shown to your room within half an hour.

Now we all have an that idyllic image in our heads of what paradise looks like and LUX is exactly that. Pictures you've seen will look amazing by they won't do it justice, it's truly breathtaking. The romantic water villa we stayed in for our holiday was very clean and modern, stocked with all the drinks and snacks you could possibly consume. There is nothing like opening your eyes each morning to the Maldivian horizon.

Food at the resort is absolutely top notch, if I had to force a complaint about LUX it would be that for me personally there needed to be a less formal eatery. As much as I like to be served and waited on at a luxury resort sometimes it is nice just to be able to grab a quick snack. Food prices reflect the quality and if you haven't gone all inclusive expect to pay through the nose for it, in some cases bordering extortionate. Even though we were all inclusive there was still an odd bill signing ritual at the end of each meal which can be tedious.

Although LUX South Ari Atoll is a tremendously expensive resort it really is worth every penny, when leaving time finally came I could have cried it, i've never experienced anything like it.
You're looked after right until plane boarding time and given the resort managers personal telephone line if there are any issues, a nice touch as often you're on your own in a lot of cases once you've paid and gone.

LUX is a truly amazing experience and one place on Earth everyone needs to see. There are so many bucket list experiences to be had here from swimming with Whale sharks to sunset cruises on the ocean.

If you can afford it, get it booked! An unforgettable destination. Life is too short.
