Worst restaurant experience of my life. My family ...
Worst restaurant experience of my life. My family and I ate there one Saturday evening after just arriving for vacation. It looks like a totally normal/casual restaurant from the outside which is their first mistake. As we walk in the male host was immediately rude. I assumed he was some sort of management just the way he carried himself. You'll know him when you see him. He's a tall, lanky, twig of a sissy looking man. So, we get inside and my almost 80 year old grandfather was up against the door. There was no room whatsoever. The male rudely tells my papaw to please stop standing up against the door so they could keep the cold air in. He knew there was no where else for him to stand too. Respect your elders. They looked at my entire family like trash. Then the male host or whatever he was looks and us and says "can I help you"? Basically he asked us why were we even there. He then proceeds to tell us that is "courtesy" to make a reservation before eating at their restaurant. Umm excuse me but shouldn't this be on your front door? Then rudely says"well I guess I can find room for you all." I wanted to leave at that point. As I tried to walk into the dining, which is not as fancy as the employees let themselves think, he looks at me and tells me to immediately remove my hat that there will be no such thing in "his" dining room. And also told my poppy to remove his and left his on anyways. The waitress was okay. The food was edible. If you like bread that taste like cardboard then this place is for you. I ordered chicken and honestly would have gotten a better meal at kfc. And just FYI expect to spend 100 to feed 4. This is just for the food only! What I thought was absolutely comical is that al of the staff was dressed in flannels and jeans. Like? Please do not look at my family and I like trash because we are not dressed in "dress" attire when your staff is in the most southern outfit possible. I'm a retail and consumer science major, I think I would know. My family comes from Tennessee and are very well educated with bachelor degrees or further. Next time we decide to drop 100 for food it definitely will not be at this joke of an establishment. I'll be taking myself to the oyster factory or Alexander's. Everyone I know back home in Knoxville will definitely be warned about this place before vacationing in Hilton Head.
