You might accidentally walk past Lucky Chan s, assuming it is just an everyday laundromat. But look a bit closer... and you ll see the entrance to one of the coolest venues in Perth.

I just love the quirkiness of this place, from the laundromat facade, to the hundreds of photos stuck on the ceiling, and the wall covered with actual ironing boards. But the main attraction is the Mad Scientist themed rooftop bar, decorated with periodic tables, danger signs and caution tape.

If you re brave enough, approach the scientist behind the bar for one of his crazy concoctions. I ordered the cocktail called the Science Experiment , which is worth ordering just to watch the spectacular theatrics of billowing smoke pouring out of a flask as the scientist combines the cocktail ingredients, and then pours it into a beaker for you to drink.

Lucky Chan s also have some great vegan options on their menu. I tried:
Spicy Vegan Bao Buns - delicious golden fried tofu, Szechuan mushrooms, slaw & black sesame mayo
Vegan Dan Dan Noodles - Taiwanese noodles, shiitake mushrooms, mapo tofu, chilli sambal olek, bean shoots & Chan s onion and chilli pickle
Edgy Vege Noodles - wok fried pumpkin, broccoli, baby corn, teriyaki sauce, spring onion gremolata & lentil noodles

I enjoyed all the dishes but have to say my favourite was the Dan Dan Noodles, they were so packed full of flavor!

I highly recommend you give Lucky Chan s a visit for a unique experience you will not forget!

The food was amazing, fresh and unique. The drinks were nice. The setting and atmosphere has a really nice industrial asian vibe. The waiters were friendly. My only downfall is the air-conditioning didn't seem to be working very well. It was a hot night and due to the venue being small, the heat just stuck inside. Would highly recommend Lucky Chan's.

Food was amazing and we had great service. Table of 7 and everything came out super fast and fresh!! They let you have drinks on the rooftop and bring them down to your table and vice versa. Went at 6pm on a Thursday so wasn't too busy and there wasn't any waiting time!!

Came here after multiple recommendations and it was absolutely brilliant and lived up to the hype. The Bao buns are Wow Buns and I would happily binge as many as is humanely possible given the opportunity.

Ian was the most genuine and lovely server I think I ve ever had, he really made our night! Definitely coming back - also the food was amazing! thanks for a great birthday!!

Overpriced Asian-fusion food.

I understand they are trying to be trendy and trying to provide a modern take on Asian food, but the the creativity has fallen short of flavour and taste.

Quality of the food is not worth the prices you pay. The cheeseburger bao was really disappointing. The patty was thick and hard.

Cool atmosphere and decor. Nice staff.

No chilli ramen. Food was delicious. Food was quite expensive compared to other ramen places in Perth. A novel theme that is worth checking out

Food was very good and they have a few vegan options which is nice. Service was friendly and efficient. Great vibe however the music is too loud for dining which makes it hard to have a conversation over the table.
Overall I would recommend this restaurant

Staff served well however the food was average at best. Great experience however would I go back? Maybe, but I am not rushing to do so.

Amazingly good food and service. Bar service was great on the roof top and our experience was awesome! Would definitely return and recommend to anyone looking for great Asian fusion food!
