They should be ashamed with the condition of this course. I have played many college courses and this by far is the worst. You were lucky to find your ball in the so called fairway. I've played better pastures.

Course clearly not well taken care of. Greens are completely unplayable and are worse than city park (that s saying something) It s pretty sad since it used to be fairly decent. Usually when a course falls apart like this it means it s time for an ownership change. Some with funds and a bright mind needs to come in and help revitalize it. It doesn t need to be Augusta National perfect but it can definitely be better
Absolute goat ranch. Avoid. I went today for the first time in a while, and paid $35 for a tee time and cart. i could have played copper mill for about that much today and it would have been 10x more enjoyable. Anyway, greens all had clumps of different grass growing in it which affected putting. LSU should be ashamed fro trying to get that much out of that crappy course. Made city park look nice.
Course is in rough shape, but they know it and charge accordingly. I thought it was a very fair deal for the price. Staff was very friendly and helpful. I gave an extra star because they were up front on course condition and gave a discount for it. Many greens in bad shape, but everyone had to play the same conditions. It was quite fun once we didn't take things too seriously. Much better to be on the golf course than at work!
Baton Rouge, a large city, mind you, is starving for driving ranges. There have been some great ones, but they just can't seem to stay open. Lucky for us LSU will always be around to sate our need to smash a bucket of balls for a reasonable price. The golf course is quite nice for the price as well. Give it a go!
Horrible and in disrepair. Tried to bring my daughter to play because she is preparing for her 1st HS match which is there and was turned away at 330pm because the course closes at 5pm. Not a soul on the course and was only playing 9 holes. Definitely not a good business model. Wouldn't be surprised if they announced a shutdown in the future.
One of the worst golf courses I ve ever played. They tee boxes had weeds all over and the fairways had weeds all over. But worst had to be either the greens or bunkers. Bunkers had bushes in them and were hard as concrete. The greens were mostly browns and covered in weeds which made putting very difficult. Never going there again for sure.
Might be the worst golf course in America. Was decent a few years back, but they really let this go. You d lose balls in the fairway it s so thick. Don t even think about hitting it in the rough. Greens were dead and had weeds on them. Sand traps had mold on the ones that weren t sprouting a jungle.
Booked a tee time on Golf Now for 9:00 am today. Got to the tee box, 2 sets of golfers on the1st tee and while waiting to tee off, 2 more carts pull up behind us. Apparently booking tee times was useless. The course was in so so condition. It looks really run down compared to when i was in school at LSU. I was disappointed to see that. It used to always be well maintained. My son is 8 so I have been teaching him the game. I am also teaching him the proper way to drive and handle a cart. He is pretty familiar with how to drive and looks forward to driving on a few holes each round. I let him drive today on the 9th hole, with me in the cart, and as we were finishing an employee ran us down on a cart and was hollering that he could not drive and that he was going to hurt someone. I simply nodded and took over. Then, the group in front of us on the 10th tee, was approached by this same man as they were on the green putting. He drove almost on the green and began telling them they needed to hurry up because people were trying to play through. In their defense, they were playing as fast as they could. There were just too many golfers allowed to tee off to close to each other from the get go with no marshal. When i heard him tell them this my son looked at me and said dad, I think im ready to go. That man is not a nice person. We decided to end our round after just 9 holes. Just a disappointing ending to a course I used to play as a student and loved. We will not be playing anymore rounds here in the near future. We simply do not have this problem with employees at other area courses from my experience.
During the Covid shutdown LSU had no employees to keep the course in good condition, but I hear from the staff that it's going to look a lot better in the weeks to come.
The construction getting to the course was insane. The actual course wasn't that great. The layout was really weird.. We had to drive all over the place to get to the next hole. The fairway was really rough too. The girl working behind the counter acted like she hated her job and wasn't nice at all. We will probably find somewhere else to play next time.
Absolutely SAD! CHECK PICTURES. The course is in the worst shape. I played LSU for the first time in a few years, and Lord it is terrible. They are bailing hay on the course. The greens have dead grass and weeds all over them. The sand bunkers are a disgrace lol. Whoever the course manager is, they should be ashamed. This course used to be amazing compared to what it is now.
Ive played great courses and terrible ones, this one sits right in the middle. The greens and fairways are as good as I played in the last two months in Texas and Louisiana. Great price during the week!
