Had the unfortunate experience in doing business with Lotus Gardenscapes. My wife and I had Wade design and blueprint our dream deck which turned out to be a bad decision. Upon completion, Wade presented us with our deck packet -a beautiful rendering of our deck on the front page with corresponding blueprints to follow. After paying, little did we know, Wade left out a critical area that was depicted in his rendering, but not in the blueprints provided. When notified of this, we were told that if we wanted this crucial design/structural element to our deck (which was a part of the design we agreed upon), we would have to pay for his services again and wait months as it was their busy season. As this was not acceptable, I reached out to the owner Traven in hopes of a resolve but with no luck. So we went to an engineer to have the missing blueprints drawn up. We were told that it was a good thing we did not use the plans we were given as it would have been a house of cards scenario if built.

If you do decide to do business with them be prepared for poor customer relations from their employees and owner. Throughout the design process while dealing with Wade, we were amazed that a grown man could have such childlike tendencies. From heavy sighs and whining when asked to change/add something, telling us he didn t think we were good for the money we owed, to literally screaming at you over the phone and hanging up. I recall Wade asking me for an early payment outside of our agreed upon terms in which I reluctantly accepted and gave him my credit card. He told me the secretary was busy doing payroll and didn t want to bother her so he was going to take down my card info on a scrap sheet of paper and process it later. When I refused, it was quite comical as he stormed out of the conference room in a tantrum to have my card ran

I could keep going, but I m sure you get the idea. The moral of the story is don t do business with Lotus Gardenscapes unless you are good at dealing with children and don t care about your money or quality of work provided.

Knowledgeable and helpful staff. I have purchased several flowers and plants from them including English Ivy, Black-Eyed Susan's, and a Flowering Quince. All of them are thriving despite my inexperience as a gardener. Bloom Garden Center selects and sells plants that grow well in the Ann Arbor area's soil and weather conditions.

Nicole at Lotus recently gave us a terrific plan for our shady and overgrown back yard garden area. She gave us several alternatives and worked with us to make small changes along the way. Her crew was dedicated, efficient, and nice. We look forward to seeing the plantings grow and bloom.

I loved working with Nicole Lloyd and the team at Lotus. I had long admired some of their installed landscapes in the local area, so I finally turned to them when I was ready to make some changes in my yard. Nicole was so easy to work with on design, bringing her own expertise and ideas in response to my vision and preferences on plants, colors, structure and more. She gave me the option to go with her to a nursery to choose some of the key plantings, and she was so flexible as we had to make on-the-fly design changes on the project. The horticulture team was incredible, efficient and knowledgable. They were also careful not to destroy my lawn in the process with equipment and stones. The final outcome is so beautiful. I love it every single day, from every window, and every walk I take outside to enjoy it.

Traven and his team are SO excellent. Our backyard is now this beautiful space, a quiet alcove, wonderful entertaining areas, and pretty plantings. Traven s design and his team s execution was much more than I could perceive in my imagination. It has now become one of our favorite spaces.
Lotus takes good care of its workers and this will add some cost. These are skilled individuals doing your project. Their skill and care will become part of you home forever.

We recently built a home in Ann Arbor and hired Lotus Gardenscapes to design and implement a landscaping plan. It s a more modern home so I was very particular about the design to include hardscape that would complement the plantings. That meant numerous soft and hard materials and colors. I worked with Traven (the owner) and Nicole, one of their primary landscape designers. This project spanned 2 years and I can t be more excited about how it all turned out. They were able to interpret our ides and produce exactly what we were looking for and more. Their work-men and work-women are all very courteous and they don t leave a mess. This wasn t a small job but one where several areas were sectioned off and planned for separately yet needed to seamlessly coexist. This spring, their team came by for Spring cleanup and more plantings and again, did a wonderful job. If you are looking for great people to work with, Lotus has the team.

Lotus is great! My wife and I are super busy and we wanted a bunch of work done on our horribly overgrown backyard - and we also had dreams of installing some nice stone steps and a huge deck. We spent a lot of time talking to various landscaping folks/companies - Lotus by far had the most expertise. They were able to take our very rough ideas and turned them into reality, and went above and beyond every step of the way. Now we have an awesome deck and steps, and are looking forward to them doing more work on our yard! You will not regret working with Lotus.

We have gotten a couple things from here, including some good quality vegetable garden dirt. The staff is very friendly and helpful. They had a big selection of organic plants/vegetables, if I recall correctly. However, we were also looking for basic run of the mill items for our kids' garden bed, and the selection here wasn't as budget-friendly as it needed to be for our kids to be able to spend their money efficiently.

I love Bloom! They worked with me to come up with a multi-year plan for landscaping my home, within my budget. This year they installed a fantastic natural stone retaining wall and herb garden. The crew was efficient and skilled. I plan on continuing to work with them to beautify my property. The store has a fun fairy area also! Highly recommend Bloom for quality landscaping done with integrity and unequaled service.

We had Lotus design and install our landscape project. Lotus was easy to collaborate with on our design and provided many creative ideas. The installation team was hardworking and very polite. All work was performed on a timely basis. We love our new landscape and highly recommend Lotus.

Lotus Gardenscapes rocks! Everyone who worked with us to renovate our front yard was pleasant, enthusiastic, professional, hard working, and detail oriented. Travon came to our home, evaluated the area we wanted redone, and explained in detail the process. Stacey did the original design and made modifications based on our budget. But the real stars were the members of the crew who did the actual work, and the "stars among the stars" were Theresa and Nicole. Not only were they tireless workers who seemed to take real joy in the job they were doing, they made sure that we were happy with every phase of the renovation, even going so far as to recommend several excellent modifications. Theresa is a true artist with an instinct for what will look good. Nicole can take an idea and make it happen in the best possible way. They work extraordinarily well together. Our project would not have turned out the way it did without either one of them In addition, they are a true joy to be around. During the time they worked on our project, they became much more than persons employed to do a job. They truly became our friends.

We would hire Lotus again in a heartbeat.

Lotus provides outstanding designs and really delivers on the installation. Unlike other places we received bids from -- Lotus pays their employees well and it shows. Each and every person involved was very customer oriented and they resolved the few issues we had quickly and to our satisfaction. In terms of design -- they do a beautiful job -- customized to your space and unique (not cookie cutter). they are willing to work with you to bring the project in at the budget you set -- we are extremely happy with our job and give them our highest recommendation.

We recently hired Lotus to design and install a bluestone patio for us. The experience was terrific from start to finish. Lauren, our designer, listened carefully to our wishlist, and worked quickly and responsively towards the final design. The installation crew was conscientious and the patio was installed on schedule. The plantings are gorgeous and thriving. We could not be happier with our experience working with Lotus Gardenscapes. Highly recommend!

Although it seems to be a very knowledgeable place for your landscaping needs, they had few herbs and no veggie plants. It's more of a landscaping establishment (patios, fountain work, trees etc) rather than a garden center with a variety of in door and outdoor plants and decor. Maybe this happened since it switched from Bloom gardens to Loutus landscapes.

Great work! Lotus designed and completed a major project for our new home. I'm looking at the terrace portion of the project right now and am just in awe of how beautiful it turned out - retaining walls of large limestone blocks, bluestone pavers, planting areas, etc. Lotus's expertise was outstanding and they worked well to understand our desires and came up with excellent designs that fit our property well. The implementation was done with care and a real eye for beauty and quality. Thanks to Traven, Ben, Nicole, etal! We recommend you highly!

The new tree is looking great, thank you for checking in on it! It is funny next to the big one. Such a baby tree by comparison. I ll get a hold of you if anything starts looking off . I want these trees to both thrive.

I cleaned and oiled the deck last week. It is so freaking beautiful. It feels like we are in a gorgeous sculpture. We have used the new deck more this year than I remember ever being out on the old one. It is a pleasant place to be. Thank you for the great design and build.

Lotus completely transformed our back yard! We are incredibly pleased with the stone patio they installed and the landscaping that they created. The crews were professional, skilled, and friendly. We will definitely hire them again and will continue to shop at Bloom for all things gardening!

The work and artistry of Lotus Gardenscapes is the best in the region. Traven and his crew are timely, creative, honest and will meet your needs quickly and efficiently. Highly recommended!!

The original quote was $1600 which grew to over $5,000. A simple weeding resulted in the removal of stone pathways, destruction of pet burial spot, tons of mulch and no replacement of stones. A tiny rebate has yet to be delivered. Lack of response to emails or follow up. I was not told what the individual charges were to be. They came out to my house once. I never saw the complete report of what they were to do so that I could know what and how much. I certainly would not have approved a $5,000 charge for preparing a planting bed. Their "refund" on that $5,000 is $100. That's one hundred dollars and I've yet to receive it.
There were no "multiple" contacts.

Lotus is the most creative and professional landscape design build company in the Ann Arbor area. We love to get our plants and perennials at Bloom as well - great knowledgeable staff and best prices in the area!

We've worked with Lotus for two seasons now. They've designed and installed two large beds and they've done our maintenance work. The service and work has been great.

What a transformation! Can't recommend Lotus Gardenscapes enough. Lauren designed a manageable landscape that's a bit eclectic and a bit traditional, successfully convincing me to remove the massive, ancient yew that dominated the yard and hid the house. The wood working crew (Dave, Will, & Brady) transformed our scary front porch into a welcoming one that we'll actually use now and built the fantastic raised vegetable garden. And the horticulture crew (Theresa, Drew, and CJ) amazed us with their fortitude, hacking into our rock-hard soil in 90-degree heat to bring life back into a yard that we've ignored for too long. The whole crew was great to work with. And we're thrilled with the results. Can't wait to watch it fill in over the years. A few years back this was the place for me to buy local flower plants, I still have one flower that comes back every year from them in my garden. Unfortunately that is no longer the case. Their flower selection has slowly gotten smaller and smaller. This year I couldn't even find one flower plant that would do well for butterflies in my small garden area. In the last couple years they turned more into a decorating the garden and backyard business. This meaning they have plenty of things like decking designs and materials, rocks of all sizes, large grassy and fern type plants, and fountains.

edit: I did take out the part of them changing owners. I could of sworn a couple years back owners did change.

I have been working with Lotus Gardenscapes for a few years and am very happy with the results. I love working with my designer to create new beds. The planting and hardscaping crews are very skilled and fun to work with.

Amazing groups of people that produce some wonderful and artistic work! The landscapes they produce are truly one of a kinda.
