Excellent course, but staff sucks. Called to make tee time and was told there was no airation or other process happening that would effect play. Then, after paying greens fees when we arrived, we were informed that two holes were closed for repairs and fees were still $84, I will not return.

Good food in a great setting. Staff are super friendly.

Good food. Ambience is a bit too much with golfers bragging about their scores n bets. If your here primarily for golf then this would be a good spot for ya.

It s a quality course. The rough is a little high for amateurs though.

I am solely giving the course and practice facility 5 stars. I think it is a great layout with good conditions. I agree with some of the other reviewers in that it tends to get very busy at this course. In my experience I find that the staff is generally nice. You can get a good deal to play here on the internet. Overall I would recommend this course to anyone.

I had a blast today playing Poole. The staff was wicked polite, picked me up at my car with a cart. The clubhouse staff was super friendly. Rangers were really polite. The pace of play was not the greatest, but the course conditions made up for that big time. I had a great time. The greens roll true, the fairways are really nice. If I could change one thing it would to have #9 not be cart path only.

Will definitely be purchasing the annual pass this week and bring my friends frequently. Keep doing what you do.

Challenging course, jealous of the NC State kids who get to play here. Am guessing the NC State golf program is legit.

I was there with a couple of newly arrived graduate students from the NC State to celebrate the new academic year. It is a breathtaking place, with great scenery.

Love the course and club house... Love the first hole... 18 holes later, I leave defeated and emotionally drained... One day I will conquer you Lonnie Poole.... One day.

Nice course but not enjoyable. GPS in the cart is constantly telling you to hurry up! We had no one behind us but were being pestered by the marshal and cart to speed up the whole day. A couple coworkers and I took the afternoon off to play here and RELAX. Not to rush. Had someone been behind us that would be one thing, but there wasn't! Won't be back. Will stick to more laid back places like RGA.

NC State's home course. Very well maintained and multiple tee's give all skill levels an enjoyable golf experience. Local knowledge helps and several holes require proper placement of your ball.

This is an absolutely beautiful course with an amazing view of downtown Raleigh. The clubhouse is amazing and recently under new management by NC State's University Dining.

The golf course is beautiful and a joy to play, but challenging at the same time. I have played several best-ball tournaments here and the staff and facilities have always been excellent. I would definitely recommend this course.

My roommate and I just went to the terrace for dinner and drinks. The food and the waitress were excellent but the kitchen was slow.

5 star at the right price when you find it under $50

I have been playing golf for over 18 years and this was the most beautiful public good course I have ever played. It was also very challenging. Would recommend this course to anyone.

Great course and in good condition. Rates are fair considering the condition and quality of the course. My only gripes are that most players seem to be good golfers on the course, the staff seems a little rude and un caring about what you want, and you will be more than lucky to play a round without being paired with another group.

My ratings include the human resources involved in golf operation and the fellow golfers.I played golf in 11 countries of the world. Lonnie Poole is the best course I have ever played. People here are the best I have ever met in any golf course.
