If you like books and don't have money stay away. This place has an amazingly eccentric selection that will make a bibliophile or book lover moist. I spent hundreds of dollars here for no reason other than such wondrous and odd books were in front of me. They have some great deals as well, local things, odd things you may not find elsewhere. It's sorta like heaven on earth.
Best place to take my kid, any day of the week. Literally she learned how to walk on their stairs. I just love recycling my books at Logos!

OK books with lousy service. The guy at the register acted like I was imposing on his reading time by asking to buy some books. This place must have forgotten there are other bookstores in town.
They have a wide variety of science and computer books which is really rare for a book store.
Logos is my go to bookstore in Santa Cruz. It is a true treasure and delight for book lovers. Unlike other stores, most of their selection is used and gently used books and they offer very very fair prices. Whereas other stores have incredibly steep prices, Logos makes purchasing physical books a pleasure and economically feasible thing to do. Moreover, the feel of the store is different from your typical barnes and nobles or borders, it feels like you are walking into a cave piled floor to ceiling with treasures that you have to go through to find. Some may find this terrible and the lack of any true organization to be daunting, but I love it and I can spend hours looking through all the books that they have.

The record selection is on the small side, but there are tons of new and used books to stroll through.
It was nice, but now it is out of business. It is no longer great. RIP Logos.

It's been a Santa Cruz fixture for years now. Unfortunately, it's going out of Business soon. (End of Summer 2017) ... It's been THE place in Santa Cruz to get good used books, DVD's and music. I'll miss it. I used to have difficulty leaving the store without a shopping bag full of books. - Great values are still to be had, for a limited time though...
Affordable books with an incredible selection they can reference up front? Most used book stores have no idea what they carry, yet Logos know exactly what is in stock. I even found my favorite CD here. Lots of love!! Thank you.

Very eclectic selection of books, particularly music and philosophy. Some used CDs and vinyl but that seems to be fading.
They have a very interesting, eclectic selection of new and used books intermixed. The records are odd in their selection and overpriced. If you want to buy an obscure book for a friend, odds are they have it. Very good nature and gardening sections!

A two-level bookstore, looks deceptively small from the entrance. This is a great place to buy and sell used books, they give you a fair price on both sides of the transaction. Great customer service, very welcoming and warm.

My favorite bookstore in Santa Cruz, hands down. Kind of the epitome of large used bookstores in my mind. Great selection, helpful staff, although it's rare to see them in the stacks. The selling counter takes a while, but they're very thorough and will donate the remnants to local schools and libraries. They have a lovely rare book selection, a robust catalogue of music (both vinyl and CD), and a kind of mediocre selection of DVDs (they're often arty).

Great selection, amazing variety and a great place to lose yourself for an hour or two. The great advantage this place has over other options (like online sellers) is that you can really look at the quality of each book as well as discover related titles that you may not have thought to look for. They also have some great mark-down/clearance deals from time to time. Overall, just a relaxing place to stimulate your mind and curiosity for an hour or two.

Logos has a large variety of different types of media, both new and used. You can always find something good! I like the space, I know I've spent hours here before, just looking through a little bit of everything. The option to have and use store credit is also nice. They have a huge range of music and books that everyone can enjoy.
Hours outside should say til 9:45 PM because they're very rude and pushy when they're trying to make sure you get out by 10. We had no intention of staying past closing and the guy was bitching at us every few minutes telling us we needed to leave and he didnt have time for us because they dont get paid past 10PM. Is that my fault? No. We were literally going as fast as we could and he did not make us feel welcome at all. He was also very short with us when we did attempt to make our purchases. If we'd had even another minute we would have bought so much more but we felt uncomfortable by this point.
We will not be back. Hope it was worth finally pushing us out at 9:55 and I hope you got paid that extra 5 minutes without us in there.

Awesome used book store. They also sell used music as well as some new books. There are two stories filled with great used books.

Not a book store guy, friend took me here. Had an amazing selection of all kinds, and great prices. Surprisingly awesome graphic novel and Scifi collection. Even I wanted to stay longer when we had to leave.
