So this was a real treat, great food, the rooms are big, clean and such beautiful views!!
The best place to stay if you are feeling romantic or have a desire to hear beautiful music and be treated like royalty.
They also run boats over to universal all day for easy access to the park till late!

The hotel itself is really nice with multiple great restaurants and pools and a very helpful concierge and staff. The rooms on the other hand are just mediocre. The standard room is a good size and the beds were comfortable but it was not the cleanest place. The carpets have not been maintained very well and were rather disgusting and unpleasant to walk bare foot on.

The premium paid for staying at the hotel is not reflected in the quality of the room. The amenities at the hotel and perks associated with the parks borderline justify the cost to stay here.

The staff are phenomenal, as are the accommodations. And at this price point, they and better be. The location can't be beat, as it offers unparalleled access to universal studios. All in all, I have no issues with my experience.

Gorgeous romantic ambiance, incredible service at every turn. Divine decor and attention to detail. Great place to visit for an overnight stay, or to catch an Uber from after a concert at Universal Studios.

Although the hotel was satisfactory, my entire experience was ruined by the poor customer service. There was one water taxi employee (his name is Jimmy) that was really the most unhelpful and aggressive person I have ever met; he belittled and demeaned me without any apparent reason to the point where it hurts to think about it now and the hotel s solution was to give us a $30 gift card. A cheap employee followed by a cheap customer service experience!

This hotel was amazing. It looked exactly like the real bay in Italy, only smaller. Great restaurants, amazing pool & lounge areas, too. If your going to Universal Orlando resort, then I definitely reccomend this place to you. I also recommend the Express passes, as they are a lifesaver, if you have kids or sick of the hot weather, and want to cool off in the shade. This hotel was amazing.

We had a great time at Universal Orlando and the Portofino was a clean yet dated hotel. We did have issues with our toilet and because we needed to change rooms were provided with a one night credit on our bill which we appreciated. This hotel is the furthest away from the parks so if you want to walk to Universal studios or adventure island parks it is approx. 1.2 miles. The water taxis run ever 15 min or so, and there are also rickshaw bikes who's drivers work for tips that will get you there in 5 minutes. We would pay $15 for the three of us...however I sense that $10 is more the normal tip. Would try Hard Rock Hotel next time.

I booked this hotel because they offer express passes for annual pass holders. They are super friendly when welcoming guests. The on sight location is very convenient. I really only slept at the hotel due to spending time in the parks. The bed was super comfy though, I definitely could have slept in later. Will stay again when I find a good deal. The hotel is usually quite pricey

The hotel is beautiful and the bar by the dock is comfortable and usually has friendly and attentive service. However, our ride over from CityWalk included rude treatment from the boat driver (an older white man).

Service was fantastic, the property was gorgeous and the food options were amazing. It's a ten minute walk to Universal Studios or you can take the shuttle boat from the hotel property. However, the walk goes through a beautiful garden and I highly recommend it. Can't wait to go back.

It's a great place to stay, provided you can afford it. Very relaxing theme and location, and with the boat you can easily access the parks at all times of day. Fantastic experience staying here

The room, service, and the close location to the park already make this hotel a amazing stay, but you also get fastpasses if you stay at 1 of their 3 hotels (and this is 1 of them) which let you go through the lines to the rides a lot faster.

Beautiful, but disappointing. They could have brought it to life a little better than painting the buildings. Mama's restaurant was delicious and will go back again even if it was a bit over priced.... But then again what do you expect at a place like this

Having stayed at other on site hotels several time...

Having stayed at other on site hotels several times we wanted to "upgrade" for our honeymoon. Unfortunately we were met with children playing volleyball in the lobby. Brushing this off as a one-off we got to our room and settled in only to be disturbed by the children of the family next door shrieking and banging/rattling the handle of the connecting door.
We brushed it off again and went to the parks and dinner in City Walk only to come back to the sounds of shrieking children at 12AM. At first we thought it was coming from the hallway since it sounded clear as day, but it was actually coming from the connecting room via dated, non sound insulated doors. A towel at the base of the door helped but still brought the overall experience down.
This coupled with the surprisingly deteriorated spa led to a less than stellar honeymoon experience at Portofino. There are much better hotels on site that seem to value guests more than the perceived experience. I would not recommend this hotel to couples looking for a getaway, it seemed more geared towards families with children used to doing as they please.

Amazing resort. However they should not allow Dogs if they continue to let them Bark and Bark every morning outside your window when people are on vacation trying to rest. Then to gave dogs fight in front of starbucks. Very intimidating to kids on vacation.food and service is fantastic.

The Portofino is a very nice hotel. The restaurant inside is great and the pool is incredible. It looks like a tropical paradise. It's a very nice place to stay if you plan on visiting Universal Studios or Islands of Adventure.

Loved the upbeat staff and the incredible outdoor area. Style of the hotel is beautiful and elegant, yet relaxed and not ostentatious. Has to be seen to believed. Convenient business center within hotel for shipping fedex. I found it to be a great value with their offer of free express pass for Universal Studios. If you factor in the free passes, the portofino is a great deal.
