Lion Square Lodge & Conference Center Review

Really enjoyed staying here. Location was amazing, right next to the Eagle Bahn gondola. Ski down at the end of the day, take off your skis walk 10 feet and hands your skis to the valet. Quiet hotel, modern clean rooms and hot outdoor hot tubes with nice views. Since you are in Lions Head the restaurant options aren't nearly as good as Vail Village but it's only a 10 minute shuttle ride or 15 minute walk away. Only reason I didn't give this hotel a 5 star is that we purchased our room through hotels.com and didn't realize how much of a scam that web site is. We paid 20% more because we used that web site to book. We tried to get hotels.com to honor their "lowest price guarantee" clause but they said they couldn't because we "post-paided" our hotel room. Still haven't figured out what "post-paided" means since I know we "pre-paid" it, but any hotel that ever considers using such a fraudulent company as hotels.com-that has absolutely no business model-- will never receive a 5 star rating. Please stop using hotels.com and just book directly with the hotel. The world will be a better place with an no value added middle person like hotels.com. Will stay at Lion Square Lodge again and will recommend it highly.

We had our wedding and reception at the Lion Square Lodge in August of 2019 and couldn t have been happier with how everything turned out. Many of our guests were in from out of town and took a mini-vacation to enjoy all that Vail had to offer. Most stayed right at the Lion Square Lodge and loved the location to the villages. Sarah and Debbie were fantastic to work with and very professional ensuring all of our requests were met and our guests were taken care of. They provided flexibility to use various areas of the property: we had our ceremony on the lawn, cocktail reception by the pool and dinner and dancing held indoors in a room overlooking the lawn and Vail mountain. Our guests couldn t stop talking about how wonderful the food was for our reception and how they loved that everything was all in the same spot. Thank you again for all the help before and after the wedding to make sure we had a beautiful day!

The general atmosphere is very nice.

Cons.
1. The bed was very uncomfortable. I woke up so many times.
2. There wassome hair on the pillows. Seems like they did not change the pillows and bed sheets after the previous people used.

The location was great and the proximity to the gondola was perfect. The village was cute and pleasant. The customer service was great and the condo #284 ( north tower) in general was good. The main downside of the condo however was above all the master bedroom s mattress. It was severely caved in on both sides with a mound in the middle which made it pretty uncomfortable and impossible to have a restful night. In addition to this, the temperature of the unit was not controllable so it felt too hot most of the time.

Great spot and location next to Eagle Bahn Gondola! Very short walk to slopes, and also close to Lions Square Shoppes. A Charter Sports is on the 2nd floor, a restaurant El Sabor on 3rd level (ground floor access to slopes), and really nice heated outdoor pool and 2 large hot tubs, which are amazing after a day of skiing!

Amazing venue for our wedding! Each room is unique, we saw 5 of them during our stay with family for our wedding and each was furnished different and layouts varied with each as well.

A collection of condos that are rented from one source, so although they're privately owned they can be rented like a hotel. Pool and hot tub were excellent. Also, the restaurant - El Sabor - that's connected had great meals and excellent apps.

We enjoyed our stay at Lions Square Lodge this summer. While the units vary, the one we stayed at this time was pleasantly updated with new appliances, light fixtures and quartz counters. Our also has a gas fireplace which is nice on those cooler nights.

The view is great no matter where you stay- it s right by the Gondola and best of all- Gore Creek, which you can hear the relaxing sound of the water and there s a nice walking path along it. I also fly fished and caught ~20 fish on a rainy day. I caught brown, brook, and rainbow trout of all sizes up to 18 . Some of the bigger fish are in the deeper holes.

Outside amenities include a nice pool area and hot tub surrounded by aspens and tons of beautiful flower planters.

This is our 3rd year coming and we ll continue to come back. Next time hopefully during the winter!
