I have taught high school art for the past 9 years, the last 4 at Lift for Life Academy, and I like to tell people I have the best job ever. The school is small and like a family. I have strong relationships with my fellow colleagues and the administration is very supportive. I am encouraged to extend learning outside the classroom and I enjoy taking my students on field trips. My students are creative, passionate, and can communicate extremely well through art.
lift for life is a very nice school the students and teachers are nice and i love the lfla family especially their sports im going to do the basketball track and football
Not sure what time school let's out,but I'm boxed in by your buses for 10 minutes now. It's 3:18. Obviously there was no bus blocking my parking spot when I parked. Get off the road until children are let out! I have places to be and you are using your bus for private transportation bus number 7. No driver behind the wheel now either.
Though I was able to build relationships with my now former students, have successful band performances etc, it would have been much better to have had a much clearer understanding of the culture of LFLA. Administration could have been much more supportive of the band program that I re-built from stratch. Being terminated on the grounds of merely expressing concerns and suggestions to me was not grounds to oust an exceptional employee! My love for the advancement of music to children is not shattered by my experience at LFLA, however it has motivated me to seek a team that shares the same level of larger thinking and pedagogical aspects of Instrumental Music.
I absolutely hate this school, i constantly get bullied by freshman's and I'm a sophomore. I have no clue what the others are talking about. When confronted by others many teachers either laugh, or go on with their day. I've warned Principal and told me to grow thick skin. The principal shows favoritism, and that's not fair at all. I've seen people who come to school 1 day out of the week graduate. Other then The ruthless, out of control, immature, uneducated people(students&&staff) their, it still sucks. The electives are really horrible, along with the instructors, there are sports but by the reputation, there's no great future. The players will have F's and still be allowed on. I've gotten My tires flatten, and windows busted out, ect. Myself or barely no one can walk in the cafeteria in the morning without at least being able to get into an altercation.I recommend NO ONE goes here its a ruthless HORRIBLE learning and growing environment.
