I was there three times, once for 10 days, and once for almost a month. When I first got there, I absolutely hated everything about it, but I was also the most mentally unstable I'd been and my depression came out mostly as extreme irritability and just feeling completely emotionally drained all the time. I definitely was not a fun person to be around. Nevertheless, staff there consistently helped me get through tough times and helped me make a significant recovery. The day was pretty filled up with groups, and there was enough individual time to journal, read, and call family members, but not so much that it was excessive. Dr. Jamison straightened out all of my medications pretty well, and helped me understand the reason and function of all of them. Based on what I've heard, people say this is one of the best adolescent psychiatric hospitals in the area. If you're reading this and you're struggling, don't hesitate to reach out to them, because it may be scary at first, but recovery is possible, I've experienced it myself.

Idk how yall had good experiences here lol. This place made me relapse so many times. There was only ONE person who genuinely wanted us to get better. I went to the Out Patient Program and it was HORRIBLE. I m not even exaggerating, Liden Oaks should only be a mental health place for someone if they re DESPERATE. And I ve heard that the In Patient Program was also horrible. I m not gonna go into detail but yeah. 0 stars, this place is terrible

Linden Oaks is amazing! I love all the staff at the Adolescent Unit! They are very kind, caring, and understanding. The place didn't feel like a hospital, but a home. They make group very fun and engaging. They also have a cafeteria with delicious food including a salad bar and soda machine. They have a nice gym with equipment and an outdoor yard to go to when the weather is nice. Expressive therapy is so much fun!! The facility is very clean and each room has its own bathroom. They have many board games, craft materials, and books to use during free time. This place helped me so so much. The staff are very hardworking and lovely and I wish them all the best.

i went to linden oaks in a vulnerable state. struggling with a very bad ed and suicide. behavior wasn t the best but i was working on it. they kicked me out to struggle with suicide and a ed all on my own. overall would not recommend, lies were made up. therapist was extremely rude to me. leaving people to struggle with terrible eating disorders all on theyre own. I would definitely recommend going somewhere else stay safe everyone and remember DONT GO TO LINDEN OAKS.

Not a good place to be and clearly treatment isn't working because of the amount of recurring patients. All they really do is give you some group therapy and the rest of the time is just sitting alone with your thoughts (generally not good for patients). Absolutely feels like a prison, 5 days there felt like 5 months. Hardly like a review will matter, people just get dragged in there anyway.

This place helped me gwt rid of my eating disorder and I was able to make good friends and at meal time we would play games to get it off our minds. Everyone there was amazing. I was so weak that I had to be in a wheelchair and because of that I had to be on bathroom monitor. When I was able to be taken out of the wheelchair they still said I needed to be on bathroom monitor because they said someone saw me doing workouts in the bathroom and I never done that and when I used the bathroom one person would look at me instead of being turned around like they should be. Other than that awesome place and food was really good.

Linden Oaks Eating Disorders Program is a wonderful Chicagoland resource for those looking for support and treatment for their ED. It has been great having them for inpatient and outpatient work, and I have found them to be
accessible and compassionate to those I have referred who are looking for care.

I went to Linden Oaks in an extremely vulnerable state and was a very fragile person upon admission, but knew that I was ready to make a change. I spent one week on the inpatient unit and then stepped down to PHP and then finally to outpatient. I cannot say enough good things about the dedicated and caring staff who went above and beyond to help. This place saved my life. I truly believe that recovery is what you make of it. You get out of it what you put into it. If you are ready and willing for change, Linden Oaks is one of the best places in the area to go to.

No matter how desperate you are do NOT send your children here. I can promise you they will come out worse for it. I have lasting ptsd from spending 3 months here when I was 12. They put me in isolation for weeks where I wasn t allowed to leave my room or speak to anyone when I was already severely depressed. The nurses would stand outside our rooms at night and gossip about the patients, mentally ill children, and I was regularly woken up to see kids getting dragged down the hallway in the middle of the night to be sedated. The abuse I suffered there has been burned into my memory for life and never really got better I just became to afraid of the threat of ever returning to this cold and evil place
