Awesome

Awesome
Located on La Rambla in Barcelona, it has been the setting, since 1847, of the most prestigious works, performed by the best singers in the world. For almost two centuries, it has been a symbol and meeting place of Catalan power, nobility and bourgeoisie, on the lower floors, on the one hand, while fans of less wealthy social classes shared their passion for opera on the 4th floors and 5th, that until the last reforms they had an independent entrance by the street of San Pablo.

The tickets without an armchair, which existed until the last reconstruction of the theater, allowed the fans of the opera to enjoy themselves for very reduced prices within the reach of many locals. Today the side seats, without visibility but with TV, of the 4th and 5th floor are also very low prices.

It was represented in June Tosca de Puccini. A great staging and a brilliant Scarpia. As is known, it is an emblematic and superb theater in terms of its decoration and acoustics, but to enjoy a work or even worse to have a subscription, in this space, is very expensive. In exclusive excess.

The finest place to go for a night at the opera.

The finest place to go for a night at the opera.
Simply breathtaking atmosphere.
The performances are fantastic and can only be described as divine.
Worth every penny if you get a nice seat.
Dont bother with cheap seats.
If you go do it right and get yourself a nice view.

You can not be in Barcelona without visiting the Lyceum. Although Barcelona has always opted for wagner operas I prefer the freshness of Verdi or Donizetti. There are also guided tours for what two cafes are worth

One of the most important and emblematic sites in Catalonia and Spain. It is one of the opera theaters with the most renown and quality throughout Europe. With outstanding acoustics and visibility. It is worth seeing and hearing an opera. Or just take a guided tour. It is flagship of the culture of Barcelona.

One of the most important teather in Barcelona and Catalonia. Historical place when you can enjoy opera and big teather espectacles. Cozy and amazing place. Wonderful area cafe and comfortable facilities. Its restaurant is an exclusive place. Bit expensive while quality is not worth it, but the athmosphere is nice. Suit is a must wear.

The venue is very nice, in the style of classic Opera Houses. Tonight's tribute concert by the Pasadena roof Orchestra was less than impressive. The music was played at tens of Beats slower in tempo then normal as if they were practicing not performing for the public. And as something of an oddity in a Glenn Miller tribute band, half the songs were not Glenn Miller's. The Jive dance troupe were subpar. Half the kids at a swing club in in Los Angeles could do better.

It is an impressive space. The attention of the guides is very cordial. The only thing that I did not like is that they do not have an established planning of the language of the visits for what is left to chance, depending on what the majority of the group speaks. Although they give you an audio guide, it is not as complete nor transmits the enthusiasm of the guide.
