Helpful staff, beautiful buildings and endless collections exhibited in assigned rooms. Just amazingly impressive. Coat check for most bags and jackets at each building, as well as airport style security measures. They only allow a wallet sized purse in the reading rooms if you have requested books to review or are doing research. Read the reading room rules before doing research here.

I had been to DC to visit a few times prior to this visit but had never visited the Library of Congress. I wish I had visited years ago. This is an amazing building with some spectacular exhibits. The architecture is just absolutely unique and gorgeous.
If you have kids or teens make sure to venture into the basement to the kids nook. We spent an hour or so sitting in the comfy beanbag filled reading rooms here sampling some books. It was an amazingly comfy stop in a rather hectic day and the staff was very helpful and nice.

Much more than a typical library- didn t expect to enjoy this as much as we did! The architecture and art alone made it worth visiting. Jefferson Library exhibit was awesome - had no concept of how many books he had before seeing it. Definitely recommend taking a group tour - you ll learn a lot. Great experience not only for adults but also school age children. We allotted only about two hours for our visit, could have easily spent 3 - 4 here.

If you need information, especially historically accurate information, this is THE place to go. I highly recommend it, and have visited the Library of Congress & the Smithsonian Museums all my life. A must see for anyone who loves history. Also a must see... The National Archives.

Reading others review of a library and realizing that it must be their first in account of the horrible grammar and bad spelling.
