Lexington Presbyterian Church: Making Disciples of Jesus through Worship, Love, and Service
At Lexington Presbyterian Church, we are committed to making disciples of Jesus Christ for the glory of God. Our mission is to worship God in spirit and truth, love one another as Christ loved us, and serve our community with the love of Christ.
Our church has a rich history dating back to 1789 when it was founded by a group of faithful believers who sought to establish a place where they could worship God freely. Over the years, our church has grown in size and influence but our commitment to serving God remains unchanged.
We believe that the Bible is the inspired Word of God and that it contains everything we need for life and godliness. We seek to teach its truths faithfully so that people can come to know Jesus as their Lord and Savior.
Worship
At Lexington Presbyterian Church, we believe that worship is central to our Christian faith. We gather together on Sundays for corporate worship where we sing hymns, pray together, hear from God's Word through preaching, and partake in communion.
Our music ministry is an important part of our worship experience. We have a talented choir that leads us in singing hymns both old and new. We also have a praise team that leads contemporary songs during our services.
Love
Jesus said that all people will know his disciples by their love for one another (John 13:35). At Lexington Presbyterian Church, we take this command seriously. We strive to create an environment where everyone feels welcome regardless of their background or beliefs.
We have several small groups where people can connect with others on a deeper level. These groups provide opportunities for fellowship, prayer support, Bible study discussion groups among other activities which help members grow spiritually while building relationships with each other.
Service
Serving others is an essential part of being a disciple of Jesus Christ (Mark 10:45). At Lexington Presbyterian Church ,we are committed not only serving within the walls but also outside them into the community around us .We partner with local organizations such as food banks ,homeless shelters among others providing support through donations or volunteering time .
In addition ,we offer various ministries within church such as children’s ministry which provides Sunday school classes during service hours .Youth ministry which provides opportunities for young adults aged between 12-18 years old connect with each other while learning about faith .
