I hate to ever have to write a bad message. Having a loved one in the nursing home at this time is heartbreaking. You can't see them you don't know what they look like no hugs etc. Believe me I know it isn't easy on staff either. When your sister has a 85th Birthday you want to do something special like send her flowers so they know they are loved and missed. I want to thank the nurse who let me talk to my sister and who looked to see if my sister had her flowers. She hadn't gotten them. I called the florist they had delivered them in the morning. Upon calling back I am told my sister can not have her flowers! They did let her see them! She said they were in glass! The florist has worked with the hospital and does not send glass to nursing home. So then I was told the arrangement had carnations which were poison and someone could eat them. I was so upset. I called the florist they made sure my sister got flowers. What would they have done with the flowers if my sister couldn't have them? She is in the dementia unit does this make her less important? They should notify someone. If I hadn't called she wouldn't have had her birthday gift. It isn't like you can check on your loved ones now. Calling my sister back she received flower she said they were beautiful and she loved them. Finally I got to make her feel good! I usually have good things about all the staff but not yesterday! SAD and HURT!
