I was very impressed with Dr. Kia. She takes her time to actually look into issues and look for underlying causes, rather than for obvious symptomatic treatment that doesn't really help. She was very helpful on multiple occasions. The place is not as crowded, as many other clinics, which is another benefit

I have been to many family clinics. What I like about it is that it isn't just a walk in. Doctors there are superb practitioners who listen carefully and probe intentionally. My family needs regular medical attention so I speak from experience.

After consulting with Dr Kia about head pains, she assessed and sent me for a scan. Soon after she personally called and urged me to meet with a surgeon at a hospital specializing in what I needed. She went so far as to have the doctors greet me personally and examine me quickly rather than waiting in the emergency unit for hours. I was treated and blessed to say pain free, she probably saved my life. Forever grateful to Dr. Kia.

The Lemore clinic is a confusing experience. My husband started attending with a male Dr. who disappeared and then he had to see the female Dr. but when he requested a file he was then told he would have to officially join the roster- whatever that means. Dr. Kia is informative, as are her mat leave replacements but she can be rude and condescending. After waiting over an hour and a half for an appointment, you are greeted by a sign that says you can only address one issue per appointment. After I left an appointment I forgot to request a requisition from her and was treated very rudely when I intercepted her between appointments. Even though she said she would send the requisition she changed her tune three days later when I called for it. I understood why she couldn't do it as it went against standard procedure but what I don't understand is why she agreed to do it and then did not apologize for misinforming me. Reception has twice told me information that was wrong and did not apologize for it, instead treated me as though I was the one who had the issue even though they gave the wrong information. I have no problem paying for a patient file but if I have spoken to your office three times and a fee has not been mentioned you may want to apologize for not informing me and review your procedure- not blame the patient. Overall, a cold and rude practice that only seems interested in getting your OHIP money.
