The care package included items such as cozy socks, lip balm, lotion, tea bags, puzzle books - things that would provide comfort during the difficult times ahead.
The care package was such a hit that Jill decided to create more packages and share them with other cancer patients. She started reaching out to hospitals and oncology centers in the Chicago area and soon realized there was an overwhelming need for these types of care packages.
Since then, Lemons of Love has grown into an organization that provides personalized care packages free-of-charge to cancer patients all over the world. Each package is tailored specifically to the patient's needs based on their age, gender, type of cancer treatment they are undergoing or have undergone before.
In addition to providing personalized care packages, Lemons of Love also offers free programs such as yoga classes for cancer patients/survivors/caregivers; art therapy sessions; wig banks; financial assistance programs; educational resources about nutrition & wellness; support groups & counseling services etc., all designed specifically for those impacted by cancer.
