Leighton Academy: Providing Quality Education to Children Aged 2-11
Leighton Academy is a primary school that is part of the Learning for Life Partnership. Located in Crewe, this school caters to children aged 2 to 11 and provides them with quality education that prepares them for their future.
At Leighton Academy, we believe that every child deserves the best education possible. That's why we have a team of highly qualified and experienced teachers who are dedicated to providing our students with an excellent learning experience. Our curriculum is designed to be engaging, challenging, and relevant so that our students can develop the skills they need to succeed in life.
Our Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) program is designed for children aged 2-5 years old. This program focuses on developing key skills such as communication, language development, physical development, personal social and emotional development as well as literacy and numeracy skills.
For children aged 5-11 years old, we offer a broad range of subjects including English Language Arts (ELA), Mathematics, Science, Social Studies/History/Geography/Citizenship Education (SS/H/G/CE), Physical Education (PE), Music/Drama/Art/Media Studies (MDAMS) among others. Our curriculum is designed around the National Curriculum guidelines but also includes additional topics such as coding/computer science which are becoming increasingly important in today's world.
We understand that every child has unique needs when it comes to learning. That's why we provide individualized support through our Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO). Our SENCO works closely with parents/carers/guardians and teachers to ensure that each student receives the support they need to reach their full potential.
At Leighton Academy, we also believe in providing opportunities for our students beyond academics. We offer extracurricular activities such as sports clubs like football/rugby/cricket/netball, music clubs like choir/band/orchestra, drama clubs, art clubs and more. These activities help our students develop their social skills, teamwork abilities and creativity.
We also believe in involving parents/carers/guardians in their child's education. We have an open-door policy where parents can come to school at any time to discuss their child's progress with teachers or the headteacher. We also hold regular parent-teacher conferences where parents can meet with teachers to discuss their child's progress.
Leighton Academy is committed to providing a safe and nurturing environment for our students. We have a strict safeguarding policy that ensures the safety of all our students while they are on school premises or participating in school-related activities.
