My boyfriend booked me a surprise trip to meet Meeko the raccoon through the private animal encounter experience. Our guides were Dani and Natalie, who were absolutely amazing. It was such an informative, enjoyable, memorable experience. The rest of the zoo was also wonderful - very clean and a large variety of animals. We enjoyed watching the penguins feeding! Such a great organization and a fantastic experience. Can t wait to come back back and meet more of the animals through the encounter experiences!!

The Lehigh Valley zoo is a nice little zoo, great for young families. You can easily see everything in the zoo in 2 hours or less. There's a little playground for the kids, the otters and penguins are a lot of fun, and sometimes you can pay to feed the giraffes. They have a Geaker's tacos which is good to eat at, but closes an hour before the zoo does. Fording the river is a neat experience when you leave, as is driving through the nature preserve.

I always loved going to the zoo as a kid. I was excited to take my children there but most of the animals were gone. And I bought tokens ahead of time to find out there was no where to use them except to feed the ducks and it was empty anyways. What a let down! Only giving 2 stars because there was atleast a nice gift shop.

I give it 3 stars because it took me almost 2 hours to get there but you see the whole zoo in only 1 hour.
The people are really nice and it is clean place but it has very little amount of animals of each type , very few different animals And the animal spaces are small and there isn't many activities , the animals look bored.

At the time, covid restrictions were in place and many exhibits were closed. It's definitely a small zoo, only took about an hour to walk through. The drive out was much more interesting than the zoo itself.

Found this place run down and a lot of the exhibits not very well taken care of anymore because of age. We bought tokens for the children when we went in to feed different animals. Found out after going through the zoo there was nowhere to use the tokens. When we ask for a refund they refused and said that the money you spent for the tokens was considered a donation. They stated that the next time you come back you can use them. I really don't think I will be going back was not impressed. Think my money could be spent better at neighboring zoos

Diamond in the rough! Awesome food selections, great prices! If you have little ones don't waste your time headed to Philly Zoo, just stop by hear for the day.

We went when it was out of season and a lot of the animals were getting their check ups, still a great time.

If you're looking for a small zoo this is it. Very calm and easy to walk around. However while walking around looking at some of the animals and their enclosures things just aren't right. The river otters didn't have much water and it was very green and slimy. The horse had a matted mane and tail. Very small enclosures for some animals. Maybe it's just me but personally I don't see this zoo as worth it. Granted this is just my personal opinion though.

Update: yes algae is okay for the river otters ecosystem there is a defined difference between thick algae sludge and normal algae in water. Also the water level was very low. On the wall of the enclosure you can see where the level of water should/used to be. Yes some horses may be shy/not like human interaction. But that does not mean that their tails or mane should get matted. How can you trim their hooves down but not brush or comb out their mane and tail?

And yes I am aware that anyone reading my review is thinking I'm a "Karen".
