Lee County Clerk of Courts Review

I am thoroughly impressed by the level of customer service offered here. I had issues in the past getting ahold of someone in this clerk of court, but it seems like they are making the right moves in regards to services offered and the upmost level of customer service. Kim helped me out today and was incredible! She definitely displays the importance of good customer service and how it relates to the customer experience. Very pleasant experience and I solved all of my issues. Thank you so much Kim!!

Long wait times on phone or in person. Most recently spoke with Teresa on the phone and she was very helpful giving me detailed instructions to request the documents I needed.

I filed something with the probate office and was told to call back in a few days to to make sure it was submitted and what else I needed to do. I called back and spoke to someone in the wills and estates department to ask what the next process would be and not only was she not helpful, but she was rude and could not be bothered. She had no clue whatsoever what I was talking about. I actually asked if I was calling the right place! Turns out she gave me the wrong information and hopefully I wont have to deal with them again. I would never want anyone like that working for me. All I got out of that phone call was more frustration! They really need to hire people that are more professional and acatully know what they are talking about! HORRIBLE!

Today I had the pleasure of speaking with Stephanie. I had previously called earlier and spoke to 2 other representatives. She was polite, knew her business and was very patient walking me through the site. If you want other....2 other to learn something good. Have them listen to Stephanie's calls. Nicely done and appreciated.

I have been trying to reach via phone for WEEKS. The first time, I waited on hold for an hour and ended up having to end the call because I had other things to do. I ve called numerous times after, get put on hold every time and when I give a call back number, I never get a call back.

Cindy was absolutely amazing. She has absolutely restored my faith in humanity. I wish I could buy her flowers. If everyone showed even a little bit of the amount of kindness she showed me, we'd have world piece. Thank you again Cindy.

I had to call the civil department 7 times on 12/30/20 and talked to a lady name Stephanie. This lady was great and very helpful on every phone call and even called me back after I got disconnected. She helped me so much! Thank you again!

This people are really low class with no manners and passion for what they they do, and what what I mean is " Serve " they don't know what works means , public serve . They sick with a nasty attitude!!

I had a very upsetting situation and needed some clarification, I spoke with Theresa ..and she was very kind and helpful..she was able to calm me down and give me great information,so I may be able to make the best decision. Thank you Theresa you touched me.

I have to say that after 5 years of not having a license I called expecting the same service I usually receive calling any government building lol
But not this morning! TODAY I got Theresa! When I tell you that lady is an angel sent to help ME I mean she helped me take care of 6 tickets today and I still have money to eat lunch

When trying to pay my traffic fine I encountered the following problems.
1. In attempting to pay online, I could not use my primary or secondary credit cards because both have CVV numbers below 100. The website recognizes only CVV numbers from 100 to 9999. This is a problem I have never before encountered in making a credit card payment. I can only conclude that whoever maintains this website lacks the competence to do so.
2. Because I could not pay on line due to this inexplicable limitation, I tried to pay by phone. It almost worked, except that when it came to the 2019 expiration date on my credit card, the system refused to recognize the nine and instead insisted that I was dialing one. I went back through a half a dozen times to make sure that the error was not my own and confirmed that the problem was with the system.
3. Once I had determined that neither the on-line system nor the phone system would work for me, I tried dialing zero when prompted to do so.
I did this on three different days at different hours on each day. On each of the three occasions I got a message that the office was experiencing greater than usual call volumes and I would be answered in the order my call had been received in the automated waiting line. The first time I waited half an hour to no avail. The second time it was 20 minutes. the third time, 10. Apparently the office is either closed or experiencing higher than usual call volumes whenever opened.
4. Finally I was able to locate a credit card with a CVV higher than 100, though it required a substantial time-consuming search to do so.

In summary, this has got to be the worst experience I have ever encountered trying to pay a bill on line or by phone. My view is that a public agency should perform better than this. It shouldn't be very difficult.

You guys need new people on the phones every time I call some your reps "accidentally " hang up the phone and it's an avrage hold time of 30minutes -hour just to get a hold of a customer service rep this is insane you desperately need new customer service reps handling the phone calls

It takes less time to be nice than nasty .... I will not let your bad day, current situation or whatever it is to be visited on me. Yes I had a traffic ticket NOT a prison sentence for killing someone. A little respect goes a long way. Even though you were rude and nasty, I will be kind and polite. I will smile and maybe it will teach you. I choose to go high when you go low and will totally ignore your behavior.

You know, it really doesn't add up when a place of government treats you like you are lower than the dirt beneath their feet. almost all employees there are either miserable, ungrateful, or both. And its usually both. There's one or maybe even two employees there who actually take their job seriously. The others tell you wrong information with full intent over the phone (that is, if you get past the day and a half long wait list) and laugh in your face when you confront them about it.

What's worse-

My buddy and I are both in the Army. We were there for a traffic citation for having no proof of insurance. We were mistaken by having the insurance document with the registration, but the insurance document didn't have the effective date on it.

While we were there to show them the proof of insurance, our squad leader calls my buddy to let him know that we have a meeting a few days later. After he gets off the phone, finishing with "roger, sergeant", the employee asks for our military ID. After confirming our service, they started misguiding us all over the building and fixing us with wrong information *in person* fully for their entertainment. One girl called my buddy a psycho, claiming he should be ashamed of his deeds, even though she didn't at all explain what she meant or what she was referring to.

I bled for, and next to, my buddy and he's my god damn brother. The fact that she had the nerve to disrespect my buddy in public is unreal. My buddy pulled me out of the building when I started yelling at the lady, and about to fly off the handle.

Whoever you are, I hope you are reading this.

I hope you live every day in pain and agony. I hope all of your worst nightmares become reality. Karma's gonna get you, and I really hope it's the worst pain you'll ever experience, and I hope that pain lasts a long time.

Lee County Court, you got some problems to fix. NOBODY should have to face what a burden that place of government truly is.

They are offering extended hours this week for passports. This is such an amazing thing, my daughter doesn't have to miss school ,my husband didn't have to miss work and we could go all together. This so much appreciated I can't even explain! Everyone was super nice and extremely helpful. It is nice to see that they are trying to accomodate people with the same working hours. A+++++

Kudos to the ladies at the second floor counter. I have been in other courts and can tell that this one (Lee County) makes a difference. They are courteous, knowledgeable, they use common sense and, although they can't give advice, they help making you understand the steps to follow and saving you time. They understand that people are not used generally speaking to file evictions or other cases and not armed with envelopes, enough copies, stamps, etc, so, they supply them at a reasonable cost. I do remember interacting with Mary and Robin and they were wonderful to deal with. Great job..!

I spoke with THERESA on the phone and she was extremely helpful, polite and it is obvious that excellent customer service is important to her and seemed to come naturally. Some people can be very rude. Been there and didn't like how I was treated. Tried calling to get some info, and after waiting for over an hour to speak to someone, the person basically hurried to ask what I wanted and hung up before I was even finished talking,literally.

I want to give 5 starts to Theresa W. I am an attorney in another jurisdiction and had an unusual question. She went above and beyond the call of duty to answer my question. She is a valuable asset to her clerk, and to her Court.

I always dread having to call government offices, but Theresa was great! She took her time to make sure that I had all the information that I needed. I didn't feel rushed or as if I was annoying her. Thanks!

Phone service closes early on Friday it seems, the system asks you to continue to hold instead of just honestly admitting that they closed early. Internal staff is rude and likes to make people run around the building. But it's just another day in Ft.Misery, Your tax dollars at work.

Treat people with respect and dignity, be helpful and kind. The court is stressful enough, court employees should help the citizens who pay their salaries. Unfortunately, Lee County appears the opposite of that.

I would give it five stars for all the awesome people that work there but...The higher ups at The State Attorneys Office Stephen Russell, and Judge Jay B. Rosman, and Admira Fox are involved in public corruption using probate court for fraud. Until they can explain how my private bank accounts end up in their office, and why my Mother was found beaten to death at Heartland Health Care ( parking lot ), and refuse to give her an autopsy after visiting her Mother , along with their collusion with local fraudster Attorney Kevin Allen Kyle, I can only rate it as one. They are now involved in Liable and Slander, Money Laundering and other crimes like Criminal Obstruction of Justice and Negligence, Fabrication of intelligence records and crimes of Color of Law Violations. Murder, Kidnapping, armed assault by Law-enforcement (FMPD). What a waste of talented State Agencies and their brilliant investigators. Until they are fully vetted by The Department of Justice in Washington D.C. I will not re-rate. .Because of direct behavior three people have been murdered and my home in Tennessee was bombed and arsoned in (Gatlinburg). The wealthy and the elderly of Ft. Myers and their heirs are their prey. A State Prosecutor has apologized to me and informed me that he did not know what they where doing to my family at the time. Where is their integrity ? Even Douglas Maloy's ( ex u.s. attorney ) wife had enough integrity to divorce him. Pay did not match the level of stress and work load for the position. Only get paid once a month and could barely make ends meet with the salary. Have to pay for your own parking. Not allowed to park in the front parking lot unless you are an attorney or "favored" by administration. Hard to get a promotion and move up within the organization unless you are a brown noser. Even if you do get a promotion, you are not guaranteed a raise.

I wish there were department email addresses and phone numbers on the Clerk's website. Even the main phone number isn't there.

I called yesterday morning in regards to a small civil claims question, first their wait is very long, after 30 minutes someone picked up, explained my situation to a girl (she did not give a name), and she asked if she could place me in a brief hold. After that she disconnected the call, I literally heard the phone being hung up on me. What type of government organization hires people that can t even answer a simple question?, so they are not only understaffed but basically have zero training as well. Ridiculous.

Today I spoke with Kayleen regarding form locations through the county website to evict a tenant, and she kindly directed me with patience, professionalism and most importantly kindness! I'm thankful to receive her assistance today, and will not hesitate to call again in the future, rather then coming in person to receive the same information. Again, thank you Kayleen!

So I had to pay my ticket for something so small but I paid it, of course. Then I received a letter stating that I had neglecting to go to traffic school that I NEVER signed up for! But when I waited 1hr 45mins to seek help for about this issue. The rude lady keeps repeating "too late to help, you have to pay $18 fee so your license doesn't get suspended." She barely looked up my information on the computer and is charging me a late fee for something I didn't sign up for... What money leeches this court is. Most of the employees and officers are gentle and nice but there are the ones that just.. don't care anymore. Honestly horrible!!

I called Family Department and Clerks and they yield and hang up on me 3 times.

I just love this courthouse. I deal with many courthouses around Florida but this is by far my favorite.

Impossible to pay over phone, broken system leaves you owing them more $$$. Sad they make it hard to take my money.

Yolanda has been so helpful and patient with me while I navigate the complex name change process during this pandemic. I could not have done it without her!

Had received a parking ticket downtown for parking on a barely yellow curb which looked unnoticeable at night to begin with so i decided to plead not guilty. After I received a court date for about a month later, the day came and went missing my date because I was caught up at work and time got away from me. After realizing what I had done I called the court the following day to see what I am supposed to do now that I missed my court date. I asked if I just pay the ticket, or if it can it be rescheduled...the woman on the phone explained to me that the only info she had in her computer was that I had a court date yesterday (a Thursday) and to wait until Monday and they will have more information for me about what I can do. THEN THE UNBELIEVABLE PART... The next morning (Saturday around 7 am) two police officers were banging on my door and had a warrant for my arrest!!! There was no notes put in their computer that I had called stating I was trying to settle this the day before. They took me downtown, handcuffs, finger prints, mugshot, sat in a jail cell with about 20 drunks, criminals, and hoods of all types, etc. for 6 hours and had to get bailed out for $500.00!! To top it off the cops that worked in there were complete A holes!! Yelling at me if I wasn't moving fast enough for them as the moved me around like I was a murderer or something!! I have never been in trouble in my life before or after this incident. As far as the ending of my unbelievable story, I was given another court date, plead guilty to this parking ticket because I just wanted this nightmare to end, didn't even get into the barely painted curbs downtown, asking the judge to please take this incident off my record since I did call the next day trying to take care of this. (my mugshot is online to this day) she said something in court lingo slammed her gavel and my mugshot is still on there- later on I learned I would have to pay another 150 to have this expunged! LEE COUNTY COURTS HAVE WAY TOO MUCH FREE TIME. Go to NY and arrest people for parking tickets see what happens! GFY idiots. All of you down there.

Complete Joke, absolute lack luster of a system. Call times are a joke and even getting information out of the staff is like pulling teeth. The automation system is no better, only plus to the automation system is at least i don't have to hear the huffing and puffing from the operator. Please teach and train your staff!

They are so slow sat 30 mins just for literally a piece of paper and then held me hostage leaving . It took 20min to get out maybe they need faster more equipped people this is ridiculous!

Unfortunately, I have had to deal with this court a lot the past few years due to a divorce. The Judges don't care. If you have an attorney they will sign anything; if you are pro se, you are screwed. The Judges don't care if what they are signing is true or not, they will sign whatever the other parties attorney hands them to sign. No ethics. No morals. No just or fair proceedings. They don't care. They are jaded and need replaced. Oh wait, I can't forget to mention that money talks in this county; it is also a "who you know and who you blow" type of county. The "good ole boy" mentality if you will, and I'm being told this by several professionals in various lines of work that work with the courts a lot. If anyone would like to place a complaint on a Judge they can write the Chief Judge Michael T. McHugh and Director of Court Administration Scott Wilsker like I was advised, but they probably won't reply or if they do they will just chastise you for complaining and tell you they can't help, and they'll do this without even reading your complaint. Complaints can also be made with the Florida Judicial Qualifications Commission (they will respond) and The Florida Bar. One could even reach out to their local representatives, such as the Senator's office. The Governors office will also provide you with additional resources you can contact. I will include that although I have come across very impatient and incompetent staff at the Clerk of Court; I have also experienced the assistance of helpful and knowledgeable staff. Keep speaking up everyone, especially with elections right around the corner!

His only means and abilities are to incriminate the many to impose upon the public either false but never true.

Got my first speeding ticket, went in person to pay the fine. The lady told me I would receive a letter in the next 48 hours stating that I could attend Traffic School and get the points knocked off. The letter never came, and I have emailed each contact email twice, and called numerous times a day to try and get a hold of someone. Every time I call, I get a recording saying "We are experiencing a higher amount of calls than normal" and get hung up on. I don't even think they have anyone answering the phones. Being a new Fort Myers resident, this place makes it hard for me to want to stay!!

And then when we needed to request additional documents a couple weeks later, lucky us - Theresa answered the phone again. And again she was extremely helpful, friendly and patient. Our work life would be so much better if everyone had her attitude. You are lucky to have her on your team!

I left the state of Texas a few weeks ago and I was in the highway but got pullover because of the license plate of my car did not have to much brightness at night and he is checking all my info when he comes back tells me my license was suspended 2 days ago and I was already like 1,200 miles away but call somebody from here her name was Kim and gave the best service, great care, great voice, she saved on top of everything and now over the phone I have my licence and everything . thank You alote Kim who ever you are

It is no surprise to see Yolanda has another review from another person on google. Yolanda took a bad situation and turned it into the best for me. When a senior clerk could not find my records that I had filed on my case I thought that was odd. I asked the senior clerk where can i see the actual documents and she pointed me to the computers. Well the computers do NOT allow anyone to see actual documents filed only the docket and titles of documents. When I went back to the senior clerk she was gone and left a sign at the window. I then went to Yolanda who immediately found every document I had been looking for that the senior clerk could not find. I was not very happy when i went to Yolanda and she kept her professional demeanor and helped me right away. Yolanda is very courteous and I would hire her away from the clerk's office in a minute!!!

Absolutely undeniably a real problem here in our court system, I have never been treated so rudely and unjustly in my life. The fact these people think they can treat you any way they want is ludicrous.

We were married by the Lee County Clerk of court a few decades ago and it was just as we wanted it to be! Simple, Legal and fast! We are together now for 36 years! Thanks for the memories!

They give out R. O. Like they are candy. Did anyone ever think Jason skelto was an abuser and drunk. How many has he had in 3 years against 2different woman. Shame on you. Children are being used as pawns to control his sister wife's.

My mom recently passed and I need to clear up some paperwork to sell the house. I was hoping the trust paperwork was filed as the attorney asked for it. I called and explained my story and wondered if she could run a search on her last name. The sett has didn t produce anything so desperate I asked if f she could query the name of the trust. She told me no that if I wanted to do that I could do it myself online!!!!! I was shocked. I m a City of Fort Myers home owner and voter. I will spread the word about this offices lack of professionalism and understanding.

The Clerk staff here are great! The Judge's Assistant's are not. If you're Pro-Se, and you need to schedule a hearing they do not return your phone call or e-mail for weeks upon a time. 2-3 weeks will go by before you get a response from them. Then once they do respond they will say the Judge has referred it to the Magistrate (which is totally fine), but then it will take the JA another 2-3 weeks to write up the Order of Referral to the Magistrate. After that, you will have be waiting another 2-3 weeks before you get a hearing date, which will be 3-4 months away. It is ridiculous.

I spoke with a representative Anita. I called in to check status of my records in the system to make sure I owed no money. She was very professional, helpful, kind, and knowledgeable. Anita took the time to ensure that all my needs were met. Thankful someone took the time to assist me. Anita is an asset to the clerks office.

They do not actually listen to anything you say and it's just going thru the motions with these people. Definitely these people in the domestic violence department set you up for failure. They are only there for the check and it shows. I'm sure some of these deaths have been on these people's hands because of how they handle you .smh

That was a real lesson in inefficiency. Wow. Way to leap into the future. So ridiculous that you can't show paperwork to clear your name. Now I have to go to court over a clerical error. No way to plead by mail, no online options to prove my innocence, which is easy to do. Your systems should all be integrated to the dmv! So ridiculous. Court date is months away during my busy season. Way to waste my time Ms. Doggett.

Recently found out about Lee Clerks use of Zoom for some basic Customer Service Issues.. 5 Star props for using it. And in particular to Yolanda for being on the other side of the call. As well as Stephanie who also helped. Yolanda and I were able to find a workaround for their turbo court deficiencies.. Well done Yolanda!!. Next time I'm in the office, I will bring donuts.. Now just fix turbo court issues.

Outstanding customer service not too many places work with you and you can laugh n dont feel bad paying your bills lol seriously communication is key they will work with you. Especially ms. Wendi!!!!!!

Judge Shaw, traffic at downtown FM courthouse was wonderful. She took time to listen and empathize, and although the case wasn't dismissed, she very fair in an fast environment that just seems to see you as a number.

Everybody that works here are extremely rude and have attitudes. No one wants to help. God forbid you have any questions about anything.

Last three visits for me were quick and easy. Had me in and out within 15 mins the latest. Only thing I didn't like is I lost my DL and called to see how much is was, the lady who answered and her coworker next to her told me it was free to replace, so I go in and when the woman taking care of me told me it was $50 I told the lady who was taking care of me that the two ladies on the phone who worked there told me it was free she literally laughed in my face and made me feel stupid like I did something wrong. After I paid I asked for her name and I'll never see her again if I'm chosen to see her that I would get skipped.

Its crazy how everyone in this building looks at the city's people and TREATS THEM LIKE THEIR GARBAGE

Lee County courthouse does not even deserve 1 star. Magistrate Carolyn swift is pulling strings for my ex mother in law. She always rules in my Ex's favor even though he is a jobless pot smoker. She is a piece of crap.

The constant on hold then when some one does answer you have to get transferred and then of course your disconnected. So sad and pathetic.

I spoke to Janeil when I called, and she was professional, was caring, and enjoyable to talk with. What a wonderful representative you have there. Great job!!

Regardless of what numbers you press when dialing the number, every option returns "The office is closed at this time."
States they're open 8am-5pm though.

Just called the courthouse and was connected right away to correct person and found out the information I needed. They were very nice.

Ok, I have contacted the clerk's office on several occasions and I have never received assistance like I did today from their 5 star employee Yolanda. This was a much closer experience to the times I have called and dealt with the concierge at some of the finest hotels and resorts in the world including the Bellagio in Vegas. I just wanted to take a moment to recognize the exceptional service I received from Yolanda.
She took the time to help me navigate a difficult experience and turned it around and made it a wonderful experience.

I hope with all of my heart she is recognized for her efforts. I would like to nominate her for employee of the year for Lee county. If there is a way to do that please leave the feedback with my review.

Worst phone service ever. Your on hold for hours only to be disconnected automatically. They never answer the phone. It's ridiculous that I have to go through this just to make a payment.

Scam artists are sending Suspension Notices for LeeWay toll system even after you paid it. There is no way to dispute it. This county issued 2 suspension notices and $456 in fines for $7.50 of toll tickets. Absolute frauds and racket.

Had a wonderful experience with Yolanda today. Very cordial and efficent especially considering it's Friday afternoon and judging by the wait times she's been very, very busy. I was impressed!

The lack of service is pretty astounding. I started my adventure of being on hold at my home in Punta Gorda, drove to Naples over an hour away, got lunch, drove to a client and performed an onsite visit, and I still havent gotten anyone on the phone. Hopefully I'll speak to someone in the next 6 hours before they close!
