Leading Duty Free Company in Sri Lanka Review

Dear all, please do not buy perfumes **Pacorabanne / David off cool water / Gucci . In my experience , which i brought all fake. I complained to the manager too. why always fake???

The lady who was telling me the offers said one thing and at the counter they billed something else. When I inquire both the person at the cashier and the agent stared scolding me very badly. This was a such an unpleasant incident and does not recommend this place at all.

All duty free shops snatch your money. They are just vegetable mongers in the market.

Very cheap way of forcing visitors to buy through constant nagging.. Gives a negative impressions on the country as much.. just think coming to SL for the first and this being the first thing you see after clearing immigration.. women almost trying to drag you to their stores.. it's really ugly how they blatantly call people up clearly when you're not interested too.. sad no one else has written about this.. Haven't seen anything like this in any other airport

We called their number (Flemingo Sri Lanka Duty Free) to know about offers & promotions. These disgusting buggers never pick the phones in week ends and at night. But boasting on websites saying 24-hr shop. (We believe if the shop is open 24 hrs, the phones also need to be answered 24 hrs.) Cant believe that it is an international company. Sometimes the old fashioned management may not look after their branches properly. Not a single star worth giving.

Expensive and very bad US dollars conversion rate compared to the rest of the world.

Don't allow them to convert USD to your home currency when you pay using your card, pay in USD. They take a lot of money and give you bad exchange rate. Also they charged me $118 instead of $112. Bill in USD, even if they say they convert. FLAMINGO COLOMBO cheat you at billng. Be careful.

Hi, Purchased through forex card and then cancelled the same. Though the debit has taken place on 26/02/2019 with immediate effect, the credit has not been done till 28/2/2019. No Phone being picked up

Returning from a trip back to colombo this is the first place i stop at. specially for the chocolate and Spirits promotions.

The only srilankan Arak they have costs $26 USD. Rest are import destillates .

No more competitors. World dutyfree has left and flamingo was not ready for the mass market. Over croweded and they cannot attend to the customers well.

If you are coming to Sri Lanka via Bandaranayaka International airport you will encounter this duty free shop. There you can buy two main things foreign liquors and sweets. They offer discounts based on the amount you buy. You need to pay by main foreign currency. This place is open 24 hours . You need to have good taste about foreign liquors when selecting a brand. But when you make purchases make sure to ask about custom limitations regarding liquors. If isn't you will have to pay custom duty for exse amount. Nice shopping.

Do not buy chocolates from here unless it is your last option! The prices here are astronomical and they are charged in USD inclusive off all the local taxes. I would recommend getting chocolates from overseas as they are much cheaper! Transit in Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand would fetch you cheaper chocolate deals. Middle Eastern countries always give you the best prices if you buy in bulk. Even in Australia if you buy on specials you get a huge bargain!

Do not allow them to convert currencies, as they give you a ridiculous conversion rate. Try and pay with USD if you have it or else pay with your international card and let your bank give you the best currency conversion rate for USD. Your bank would still charge an overseas merchant fee even though you pay with your native currency here.

The only positive aspect of my experience here was their alcohol prices.

This is a one-stop rip-off place. Chocolates are way overpriced. They also put a lot of offers, but even with the offers their goods are overpriced. Therefore, I do not recommend this place. Instead, buy from transit airport duty-free shops on your way to CMB. Also, when you are in the country, head over to any Keells Super outlet you'll find better prices for the same chocolates.

During my last shopping the cashier missed 2 chocolate packets. However the team flemingo was kept updating me regarding the issue once i filed a complaint. Mr. Mayura was an excellent person on the customer service and gave me options to solve the issue.

Prices are too high Compared to flight's on-board duty-free shops or Other countries duty free shops.

Only Departure shop has no limit and sells #Cigarettes and other #tobacco products too.

Duty-free tin that gets paid in dollars but returns surplus in local money

I visited this place on 2019-01-07. After purchasing all my needs, the person in the cashier was forcefully trying to promote another set of items. They didn't give me a bill for my purchasing also. Please use other shops.

Variety of goods, perfumes, chocolates. Cosmetic items, cigarettes and alcoholic items.

I bought 2 bottles of 1L Jameson whiskey which is my favourite but these both 2 bottles are rubbish can't even drink smell too bad and taste different to original Jameson whiskey. One has poured lid other one hasn't. Looks like they are selling duplicate or local mixed alcohol. This is too bad. Never buy again and careful when you buy any alcohol from this shop I heard they are doing this for popular whiskeys.

This is a place in Sri Lanka who don't accept Sri Lankan Rupees. chocolates say buy2 and get 1 free. when I went to pay they said free one is a small packet not the same size. Cashier at the counter is very rude.
