We stayed over Christmas and it was fantastic. We needed adjoining rooms and they made it happen. Front desk and room service was excellent. The lobby was decorated and all. I would definitely stay again. Clean , comfortable and location was the key in Manhattan.
Excellent service and rooms. The staff was very kind and the whole experience was seamless. The only issue was the ice maker not working and they sent up ice directly to the room! The hotel was beautiful and in a prime location. I would definitely stay again!
The pool which was a big selling point for us is permanently closed and still on the website misleading guests. Location is great and staff was fantastic but the rooms and surrounding hallways are very dated. With paint peeling and in much need of updating. The website would have you believe this is a modern very upscale hotel but you will find once you leave the main lobby that most of the rest of the hotel is in disrepair. With chips in the bathroom tiles, mold stains around the tubs and water damage on end tables and furniture. Again a great location and wonderful staff but at this price point and the many other options around this area I would search elsewhere.
My wife and I spent 2 days on the island and this hotel was perfect for us. It was centrally located, across the street from Central Park and easy to walk anywhere. We had great views of the city! The rate wasn t bad either. We plan to come back to NYC and will definitely consider staying here again.
I didn't have the highest expectations about this hotel because I knew it was a little dated, but I trust Hyatt brand and they didn't disappoint. The best features are that they have spacious rooms with a huge shower, the views are great, location is central for tourists (near the park), and the staff is phenomenal (especially if you have any requests like late check-out they were especially accommodating). That includes the management, doormen, cleaning staff and front desk. The rooms are missing a fridge and the heat is centrally controlled which is tricky in those transitioning months. The good thing is that you can ask for a space heater, and a refrigerator can be provided upon request.
Beautiful lobby and open spaces on the main floor. A small long corridor cozy bar with red velvet sofas and benches is perfect for a cafe, tea, a glass of wine. The lobby is large and open to all. A bit like a fancy office building.
A burger joint behind red curtains is ALWAYS busy. The breakfast and Brunch menu at Norma's is excellent and huge portions.
The rooftop pool is closed but the Gravity gym downstairs accepts non hotel guests as well.
I've never stayed in the rooms.

Old, outdated hotel.. lots of poor craftsmanship.. nice enough people but the building is beat up and run down. Great view and location but likely won't be coming back.. although for the price your not gonna find much better. I would rather pay a bit more for a nicer place
A friend and I stayed here for our NYC Christmas trip and it was a GREAT stay...we loved it! The location is great for all the midtown attractions, and the subway is just a couple blocks away, so easy access to the whole city. The rooms are spacious, clean, and very comfortable, beds especially! The staff was exceptional; they accommodated all our requests, answered all our questions, and were happy to offer recommendations as we set out to explore the city...all with a smile! The hotel offers all kinds of food and amenities as well. We will definitely stay here again and will recommend to everyone!
Had a great stay; upgraded to a room overlooking the park - well worth it! They let us check in early- great check in experience. The BEST was I left 3 electronic items in my room & they saved them for me! Sent them off the same day! Thank you Andrew!!!! What a great asset to the staff!
