Simple, no-frills, no-nonsense reliable transportation. While staying near the LVCC I utilized the monorail several times to visit the strip and the Vegas scene. The platforms are clean, the stations safe and the train runs every 7 minutes or so. While individual rides are $5 a piece you can purchase an all day pass for a few bucks more (I think $12-14). In my case the hotel provided complimentary passes each day.
Hopping on at the convention center heading south to the strip is a quick ride. Furthest south or last stop is the MGM Grand. Some days there are more stops than others but I wasn t there long enough to figure out the pattern/schedule (maybe weekdays vs. weekends).
If you want to travel between the Luxor and the Bellagio, there is a free tram/trolley west of the strip, behind the Luxor that is open to the public. Though I never found a need to take it since the weather was cooperative and I just walked north on S. Las Vegas boulevard.
Returning from the casino hotel stations is an adventure. The signs in the casino lobbies are not abundant and often you have to guess or ask which direction the monorail entrance is. Though this is not the fault of the monorail operator, instead the issue lies with the hotel. Maybe they don t display clear signs as a way to get you all turned around in hopes of distracting you with more slot machines and blackjack tables :)
Overall very pleased with this ground transport option and will use again if I stay near the LVCC.
