Langley AFB Commissary Reviews

I'm not sure why others are saying they're out of stock on lots of items. I live less than five minutes from this store and I go here for the best prices on meat. Better than Walmart. And for the size of the meat section, it's a pretty good selection. The shelves are always stocked to bursting with items and the staff is EXTREMELY friendly. The new self serve line is great but you can still go to any of the cashiers to get checked out just as fast (and unlike Walmart or alot of other grocery stores) their registers are always manned up.

I don't like the fact that retirees have limited days for the commissary. I had an appointment on base today, I could go the Shoppette, the base exchange, grab some lunch but I could not enter the commissary. The store wasn't even busy. I needed 2 things for my evening meal, so now I have to inconvenience myself to drive to another store when I was already on base. There is no proof that retirees cause higher exposure risks.

I have no complaints. It's a basic military grocery store that operates as it's suppose to. Although there are no bells and whistles, it's better and bigger than many other commissaries I've experienced..

I went there yesterday to pick up some items. As usual, many of the items I was shopping for were moved or out of stock. I used the self checkout lanes and after scanning $65 worth of items with 3 to go, the machine locked up. Approx 20 minutes were spent by the ID checker and duty manager trying to get it to work. Finally they suggested I move to a different register and rescan everything. No thanks! Today I went to Kroger and found everything well marked, machines that worked and friendly workers to assist if anything went wrong. The prices were not out of line and the speed of getting through made it a pleasure. Other than chicken and some cold cuts, I will be shopping at Kroger from now on. The management could learn something from the outside stores. As an aside, most of the employees are friendly and helpful, It's just management that is lacking.

Large empty spaces on shelves; national brands discontinued for "American Freedom" products; and, mediocre meat section. I can buy better cuts of meat, sodas, chips, and vegetables cheaper at local groceries stores. Fresh fish section is good.

I loved it! There is a large selection for fresh fruits and veggies as well as a great section for seafood! I was in awe walking through this commissary. At checkout, I had a wonderful experience talking with the cashier and having my bags brought out to the car. This is one of the best commissaries I've been to! Or maybe I moved here from a really small base

Its a beautiful place to shop for yourself and family thanks to my aunt for taking me with her im so sad i didnt listen to my uncle when her told me i should have join the service when i was young he explain to me about the experience and benefit s that comes with it..god bless.
