Langdon Place of Dover Assisted Living Facility Review

My mother moved into Langdon place more than 16 years ago. The staff provided very competent and compassionate care to her during her time in their facility. When her health declined they facilitated hospice care so she could stay in her room with her cat and family till the end of her life at the age of eighty seven years. We could not be more pleased with the management and staff at Langdon Place. In fact we had her memorial service there today so the staff could share in the service.

All I gotta say is, don't bring your loved one here. My Aunt is dead because of this place! She had fallen and contracted fluid on her lungs and got septum poisoning due to negligence. They lied and said that she never fell when she in fact did, she broke her damn ribs! Langdon Place, you don't know it, but have fun battling the court system! If it were up to me, your place would be shut down!!!! I wouldn't bring my dog here if I had one!

My husband spent 3 weeks there after a nasty fall. What a great place! Every staff member, every level of care, from LNAs, nursing. PT, OT, housekeeping, nutrition, administration, couldn't have asked for better care. A Special blessing to us was Kaylin (OT) SHE is an Angel. Thank you, everyone!

Langdon Place is a wonderful place. My grandmother lives there. The staff are kind, friendly and caring. We went for a BBQ there and the food was great. The grounds and buildings are beautiful. I am glad my grandmother is living there. She has friends, she does things there and she s being well taking care of. Thank you Langdon Place.

Placing my dad, who has dementia, at Langdon Place was the best decision I ever made. The staff/caregivers, exhibit their professionalism and knowledge of their jobs every day but also their compassion and their kindness in making every resident feel they matter and they are important . I especially appreciate the communication between Langdon Place and myself which better enables me to make decisions regarding my dad s care. I sleep better at night knowing my dad is well taken care of and safe at Langdon Place and Dover.

Just got done visiting an elderly friend who had the misfortune of being at Langdon Place, in Dover, NH for a few weeks in the last part of September of 2017. What she told me was shocking!

Never ever ever consider putting someone you love in that place!

She was not bathed the entire time she was there, nor was she even provided with a sink stopper so that she could properly wash in a sink. This lady is *very* elderly (think 90+) and she was put through things she was told she shouldn't be doing, and no one even listened to her when she told them about the pain it was causing her ...

... and worst of all, SHE WAS GIVEN THE WRONG MEDICATION, and then just told to "go to sleep and forget about it". Her daughter has also not been able to get to the bottom of it. Although the wrong medication caused her pain and fear, *there hasn't even been so much as an "I'm sorry"*.

Looking for a good lawyer ... hope I can find one.

Please, do *not* put someone you love in there. What she described to me was nothing short of a nightmare!

If you really care about your loved one, do not send them here. My grandfather is now dead because of their lack of care. He called the place a prison and would cry upon our departure. He also claimed that whenever we would ask questions to the "establishment," he would be even further neglected. He was so loved and was so kindhearted and all he was ever treated with at this place was disrespect. It saddens me that others have had the same experience as us. It is heartbreaking that others have endured the same pain that he did. A good man is now gone because of this. Heartbroken does not even begin to cover it. All we ever got was a "sorry you are upset". Absolutely disgraceful.

My husband was transported to this facility via ambulance directly from the hospital. At that point he could not walk without a three person assist and could not use either of his arms. We were brought a a room by the EMTs on the transport. After being there one hour without seeing a human being much less having vitals done I went looking for someone. At that point (about 15 minutes later) a nurse came in and took vitals. Then a nurse appeared and told me they had none of his meds for that evening. When I expressed my dissatisfaction that was remedied. At 5PM we were told someone would bring him in a tray and feed him. I followed her out and said Iwould feed him. She gave me a tray of food. Ten minutes later a PT came in to eval him. She was the hi-light of this experience. I left at 7PM. When I arrived back at 7AM my husband was in tears telling me he wanted out of this place. I said ok. I noted that the gentlemen in the shared space was still in the same chair and same clothes he was in when Ileft the night before. I got my husband to the car and he began to cry. He said that he had called to use the restroom twice in the night both times it took the staff 45 mins to come and both times he had soiled himself. This is not a place to leave someone you love

Langdon Place of Dover is my trusted place to heal, get stronger. If you/or your family -members are in the need of Physical/Occupational Rehabilitation, Medical services you should choose Genesis/Langdon place of Dover. Their entire Team's (Leadership, Administration, MD, PA, Nursing, CNA, PT/OT therapist...*sorry I can't forget the hard working Teams from Housekeeping, Kitchen, Maintenance etc... an amazing group of kindhearted , great people.) Their staffed with highly qualified, talented caregivers. I hold Langdon Place, Genesis is the highest regards. I greatly appreciate the fantastic Medical, support services they have given. Ultimately it's my best end Medical improvements achieved under their care, It's my healthy results/positive outcomes that speak for themselves. Langdon Place of Dover is best of breed.

The team here is the best I have ever worked with. The staff is very hard working and dedicated to all the residents that stay here for short term rehab and assisted living!

Well for all people thinking of going to this facility. I would always suggest to keep in mind the ethical qualities of a company. That allows a) staff members to enter into extramarital affairs that destroyed a family and affects business. One of their best LNA s switches to working into the kitchen cause she got too close to a cook. Just so they could spend more time together.
And b) the company holds no problems with a cook who threatened to murder someone for trying to save his marriage with said LNA.
The company knows all of this nd does nothing about any of it. Is this where you want your family? Is this the kind of ethics you want protecting you?

My parents were at a point in their lives where they needed assisted living. Langdon Place offered them what they were looking for and has exceeded their expectations. They love going to the dining room for good food and conversations with the residents they have met. On Tuesdays they go out to a different restaurant for lunch and they also go on mystery rides, to plays and musicals. They are busier now than when they lived in their own home. The staff is very caring and always greets you with a smile. They enjoy their spacious apartment and have availed themselves of the wonderful medical care when needed. The facility is very clean, well maintained and beautiful, especially around Christmas. Thank you to all the staff for making my parents feel so very welcome and a part of a wonderful family. My grandfather went there for a few months and because he stayed there, he is going to die in the next couple of weeks. Since they didn t do good, he now has a horrible infection in his bones. He would ve been heathy and just had a broken leg if it weren t for them.

Our mother is in the assisted living facility of Langdon Place in Dover and we could not be more pleased with the care that she is receiving. From the Director of the assisted-living services, the nursing staff and all who encounter her. They all know her by name and are concerned with her well-being and care. I would recommend Langdon Place to anyone who wants compassionate and competent care for their parent or loved one.

A wonderful facility! Had a family member stay in the rehab unit for a few weeks. He was very well taken care of. If we are ever in a situation where we need to go back to a rehabilitation center we will be coming back to Langdon place!

My mother has been at Langdon Place for over 18 months. The staff is very caring and the facility very clean and well-maintained. There has not been a single case of Covid among residents and the staff. We are very grateful for the tremendous effort that goes into maintaining such a safe environment.

My mom was a patient at Langdon place of Dover from the beginning of February to March after a terrible fall. She suffered many broken bones and trauma. The staff at Langdon place was very loving and caring. From the nurses, therapists, LNA s maintenance and housekeeping . Always tentative and willing to help or fix whatever was going on. She had to have follow up surgery in March and returned to Langdon place after a few weeks at an acute rehab. She said she felt like she was returning home to the friends she had made during her first stay. Thankfully she was able to come home at the end of May and was up and walking 100 feet, able to dress and toilet herself, fix her own food at home . They set up visiting nurses for her through their wonderful social services director. I am blessed to have had such a wonderful outcome. We will hopefully return after her next surgery. Admissions does a wonderful job and worked very hard getting her in for her first and second admissions. Thank you to all the staff and even the secretaries in the front office whom always welcome you with warmth and smilies .

This place is so so great! Nothing but positive things to say. The staff is so kind and welcoming. The building is clean and inviting. Always fun activities going on. I highly recommend.

I know someone who works at Langdon Place of Dover. Though she never tells me about personal information or names, she always gets so excited about her patients and their recovery. My friend always expresses how "Wonderful it is to see someone who has been so sick finally up and walking." I know how hard my friend works and her team mates on caring for each of their patients. I always think how nice it is to see someone so dedicated become so excited about someone she or her coworkers care for each day. If I find myself or family indeed of services, Langdon is where we will go.

Langdon has wonderful team that works their hardest each day to take care of their patients and residents! I look forward to coming into work and spending my days with this great community.

Excellent staff in the Assisted Living that truly care about their residents well being. They're some of the kindest, caring people that we work with. The facility is clean, food is beautiful in the dining room and the apartments are spacious. The staffs ability to communicate and advocate on behalf of their residents has provided their residents with additional services and support.

This place is so amazing my grandma mother loves it here. She says all the employees are very nice!

My grandma is at Langdon Place and loves living there. She fills her days with activities and the pool. Her apartment is a great size and gives her the independence that she craves while being in a safe environment. The staff is attentive and friendly and knows the residents by name.

As an RN I have seen many medical facilities. I find the staff professional and caring, and the physical presence comfortable. A positive atmosphere for a patients rehab needs.

When Mom couldn't live alone anymore, Langdon Place fit her needs perfectly. Clean, bright, & spactious room. A staff that was able to answer any question we had without hesitation. Up-front information about pricing, terms, and options made it an easy decision for us. Mom has been there about 6 months now and has settle in quite nicely. I did receive a call from the care staff on her floor after she had a minor fall, and they didn't hesitate to call despite the late hour. I am very comfortable knowing that Mom has folks around her that care and know her personally.

If it were possible to leave zero I would. I can only speak of our experience with the rehab. If you love the person, do not send them to Langdon Place.

Langdon Place is frequently understaffed and the staff they have are overworked. The people are caring and friendly but cannot meet the needs of the patients. If there were more staff, they could serve the patients better.
Family needs to insist their loved ones gets PT, OT and meds.

My family and I have had a wonderful experience with the independent living section of this facility. They also have skilled nursing when and if my father should need it. I can't speak to the other reviews listed here, but I encourage you to see for yourself.

Absolute worst place ever. The drama is ridiculous between staff, and they hire lazy nurses who don't want to do anything. People (nurses/staff) literally fight to not go to certain sections because it's so bad.I would never recommend this place for anyone, for anything!

My mother was put in the Rehab section. They never changed her sheets the whole two weeks she was there and her room was dirty from a prior patient that they never cleaned up. Ugh!

Several months ago I moved my aunt into a lovely 1 bedroom apartment at Langdon Place. Both she and I are extremely happy with the level of care and attention by all members of the staff and Susan the director. The transition for my aunt (and her cat) has been a smooth one despite it being a stressful move. My aunt has independence yet is still well cared for with all her medical needs attended to. There are fun activities both on the grounds and field trips . I would highly recommmend Langdon Place to anyone who is looking for quality, attentive care in a relaxed and comfortable environment.

It took a while to talk my parents into moving into assisted living and totally understandable. Leaving your home is hard for anyone. But the folks at Langdon made the transition seamless and now my parents are happier then they're been in a very long time! They're active and involved and just told me that their biggest surprise was just how nice everyone is! From the staff to the residents. And for the first time in years they told me they were too busy for me to visit!!

"Three months at Langdon seems like three days! thanks to all the staff, nurses, cooks, wait staff and directors that have made our stay so comfortable and loving. The residents here are friends already, so friendly and caring of one another. We have a lovely woman who comes in on Tuesdays to give our place a cleaning and she is great!

To be honest we feared moving here as we were so used to our independence. Not necessary! We have plenty of independence here and are honestly freer to do what we wish but also have the professional medical staff if necessary.
