Lakeview was such an amazing experience. The staff was absolutely phenomenal! The grounds were so beautiful and the amenities made the painstaking detox bearable. I would recommend this facility to any loved one struggling with alcoholism or addiction. I was seen daily by the doctors, three wonderful meals a day, and intensive one on one and group therapy. I have learned how to work a program and stay sober. 14 months and counting! Thank you Lakeview

I celebrated 6 months clean a few days ago. Just wanted to give a huge thanks to lakeview. They saved my life. Thank you to the staff, councelors, and fellow alumni.
As a previous patient I must express my sense of gratitude to lakeview as it was one of the many stepping stones on my path to recovery. They gave me the tools I needed to build the foundation of my recovery and for me I built that foundation on a sponsor the 12 steps of Alcoholics Anonymous and daily meetings and networking. After being at lakeview I can honestly say that their clinical staff knocks it out of the park with their AMAZING therapists. Special shout out to Skylar who was my primary therapist who still I still keep in contact with from time to time. She goes to any lengths to help her clients and her hard work and passion for what she does surely shows. Bart was another amazing therapist who was able to put things into ways that were easy to apply to your day to day and no matter what kind of day you were having Bart always found a way to brighten your day and change your perspective on things. Those were just two of the many therapists that definitely made a huge impact as far as my recovery was concerned. In addition to there killer therapists is there dream team of techs which have a more closer interaction since they have to put up with us all day and they definitely make the difference because they do TRULY care and do anything they can to help special shout outs to Madina Eric Dorthy Joe Keeon John and Reggie every single one of them were absolutely awesome their hard work and huge hearts show that they have a passion for what they do and each of them has helped me in ways they probably don't even know. And last but not least I have to say their after care team is phenomenal they work extremely hard to ensure that your set up for success upon discharge because that's where the rubber meets the road and it's time to go back to living life on life's teams but like I said they make the transition as smith as possible as well as follow up with you to ensure your making the best of your recovery and help you in anyway they can to help you succeed. So I can't help but mention my case manager Rose who was absolutely awesome to work with she helped me with some of my court issues keeping up with my lawyer and po and any other issues I had, Ryan who takes care of all the after care hooking you up with sober living he ensures that he finds the best place possible for you to succeed, and last but not least Nick who handles the alumni stuff he is still a part of my recovery today and follows up to see how I'm doing as well as coordinates all kinds of pretty sweet alumni events to keep everybody connected which I think is awesome. So as much as I'd like to and could write more about my experience here I would almost assume that not many ppl would have read this far anyway so I'll end with this thank you everybody at lakeview for making my time there as smooth as possible and helping along the path of recovery I'll be back soon to visit and maybe even help bring in a meeting take care and God bless!!!!
If you care about your loved one DO NOT SEND THEM TO LAKEVIEW ! This is the most disorganized place I've ever seen. No one knows what is going on and if you want answers to a particular set of circumstances... good luck. One Psychiatrist took my granddaughter off an antidepressant that she had been taaking for years... cold turkey. No step down, no gradual weaning, just STOPPED the medication, and she had a complete meltdown, and NO ONE paid any attention, they just labeled her as ' uncooperative' For the money they take in, there are many better places to choose from. There are programs available there, however, if the classes are full then tough. If they are taking your hard earned money, then all classes should be available to EVERYONE who wants or needs them. I am thoroughly disappointed with this place. I don't feel that my granddaughter is in a safe environment. They should have put the money they used to upgrade the outward appearance into qualified, caring staff. The place is like a three ring circus. It would be a good place to put someone into witness protection, because I guarantee you no one there ( staff )would never know anything about anything or anyone.. AVOID LAKEVIEW
As a mother struggling with how to get my son into rehab I can not say enough about the call center counselors. I will never forget Tarshi, her compassion, and dedication to her job was instrumental in convincing my son he needed to get help. Without her support for me and her following up he never would have agreed to go. She truly was my life line. I can not tell you the sense of peace I felt knowing he was in a better place and getting the help he needed. If there is one thing I highly suggest is make the commitment to go to the family workshop. What I got out of that is invaluable. I really believe that showing my son I was in this with him and that he wasn't alone helped him to see he had support in his recovery. This was the best 2 days I could have spent, what you will get out of this is HUGE.
I attended a professionals weekend at Lakeview Health and I was very impressed with the facility and most importantly, the compassionate and committed staff. This is a first rate operation.
Lake View Health is the best Treatment Center I have come across in my 7years in the addiction and mental health industry . I have had countless patients go through their programs with such ease and comfort. Not once have I ever seen them fail on any level. Each client I have sent them to date is currently sober and leading a life of recovery. I would send my family and friend here without thinking twice! I would give them 10 stars if it would let me!
To say this place saved my life is an understatement; it gave me a new one. I thought I came in to just detox and get my head clear from pain medicine that I couldn't quit, but learned more about myself in 45 days than I have in the past 4-5 years. I found my spirituality again and formed a family that will last a lifetime. I didn't leave perfectly repaired, but I left with a perfectly open mind to see the world and my problems in a new light. (Spoiler: acceptance is the answer. The more you focus on your problems, the more problems you'll have. When you start focusing on the answers, your life will never be the same)
Nice accomodations, plentiful food and snacks, fun trips, dual diagnosis therapy, gender specific programs... It really is as awesome as it looks in the advertising.
Most surprising of all, is the story doesn't stop there. After you leave you'll be in regular contact with an alumni coordinator and invite to awesome sober trips throughout Florida and beyond. The opposite of addiction isn't sobriety-- it's connections, and that's exactly what you'll get here.
After doing sober living in South Florida and seeing the turnout from multiple other rehabs, I can't endorse Lakeview enough. The staff, the patients, the facility, the bonds you'll form will all speak for themselves. Seriously, if you're ready to take the next step, you can't find a better place on the East Coast
Lakeview has always been one of the most impressive treatment centers I've been to and worked with. They have worked with several clients of ours and I have only heard wonderful responses from clients regarding their time there. They take the time to make it a very individualized experience for everyone who walks through their doors. There's some of the most amazing clinicians and professionals who work here. Thank you Lakeview for being who you are!
I attended Lakeview about 9 months ago and I'm still going strong. This is an excellent facility with great therapists nice rooms excellent medical attention wonderful food trust me I'm a kid LOL a nice gym a pool and outings. In your first three weeks or so you see the doctor every day you see a therapist twice a day and you have groups all day long to keep you busy learning how to recover and how to live a normal life in the outside world. They also check up on you after your out of the facility everybody meets up to do fun sober events. Honestly I couldn't ask for anything better I credit these people to getting me clean and sober and keeping it that way.
I came through the program in 2013 and have stayed sober ever since. It is still a "one day at a time" kind of thing. Lakeview gave me the tools to start my sobriety and detox in a safe place. Once I got past the physical withdrawal, I was able to start working on why I drank and used in the first place. Through Lakeview and a continued 12 step program, my life has continually gotten better.
The amount of money that Lakeview charges for the services rendered is ridiculous. I was charged for attending "group therapy" which consisted of 2 female staffers sitting in the corner texting while a 20 something year old opioid addict (still detoxing) stood at the podium making "affirmations". Also charged for "group" that consisted of people picking their favorite songs! Basic charges for Lakeview were over $3500.00 per day. I was charged over $400.00 twice for drug screens even though I only participated in one screen. The 2nd charge was submitted for a day that I wasn't even there. The Florida State Licensing folks need to take a very hard look at this institution. My advice? Stay far away from Lakeview. This is a giant insurance scam.
After my husband was there a few days, he was told he had acquired a bill of $9,000 and the cost could go up to $25,000 for his treatment. We had been previously told we would only be responsible for our deductible. They later realized their error, we did only owe our deductible, but at this point he wanted to leave the facility. The faculty misdirected him around the building, lied to him and refused to assist him. They even told him they would call the police and he would go to jail for leaving against medical advice. I went to the facility to talk with my husband, but when they refused to give him his belongings, including medications he brought with him when admitted, I agreed that this was not the place for him. We were forced to call the police to get his belongings! - Complete Craziness!!
I would never recommend this place to a soul. i came here to get help and my therapist went behind my back and called Child Services on me and my family based on some information I shared with her in a session and that broke my heart that she did that. The facility did not even tell me they had done that to me. All they care about is money and the treatment is nothing but group therapy. it's a waste of your money. And they can not be trusted.
Great experience, I just finished up here after 50+ days. Amazing facility and staff. Therapy was great! The food was amazing, personal trainers at the gym daily and an amazing pool to relax at daily.
very excellent recovery center they helped save my life i loved all of the staff, the structure is great and they do truly care about your recovery and well being. i would highly suggest this program to anyone struggling with addiction if they can help me they can help you to i promise. a definite 10/10
Be careful! I was lied to when I was thinking about attending, I think they use commissioned sales people to answer the phone. This place is not that nice, and they are EXTREMELY expensive. But, that being said, I feel as though I got the best professional help possible, and was prepared for my life without any substance dependencies when I got out. Is it perfect? No. But you get what you put into it. It's been six years and I'm still sober.
Similar to an experience from another review, we were bait and switched by Lakeview. When speaking with Stephen during the intake process we informed him that we were only interested in the medical detox program as we had residential care in place after the medical detox. Once admitted, it was down hill from there. Trying to get a hold of a case worker has near impossible, all we could do is leave messages at the nurses station. When we inquired about how the transfer process to the other facility would take place, they tried to talk us out of transferring (numerous times). I m not sure who determines which facility a patient is going to (stepping stones vs lakeview health) but I think the folks who answer the phones at intake work on commission. At no point we re we told we had an option of attending just stepping stones which was their medical detox program and instead were admitted into lakeview which is their medical detox and residential treatment program. In order to leave the program, our family member had to fill out an ama (against medical advice). We finally received a call from the primary case worker Kailey Mccallan, who up until this point, 11 days into the program we d never heard from or even knew existed. She proceeds to tell us that our family member could have completed a bed to bed transfer since they were going to another facility. This was news to all of us and when we asked her why this option wasn t provided to our family member she didn t have a response. Once our family member completed the AMA their phone access was immediately cut off they weren t allowed to make outbound phone calls nor could we call and speak to them without the presence of a counselor. To make matters worse, Kailey informed us their facility would not help our family member with transportation back home and come 4:30pm our family member and all their belongings would be removed from the facility and put on the street.
This behavior is shocking and disgusting from a professional rehabilitation center. Luckily we were able to find same day airfare because had we not, our family memeber would have been on the streets at the hands of lakeview. At the end of the day, as soon as they realized that the insurance money was ending they wanted to have nothing to do with us, wouldn t even allow calls to be made for Christ s sake.
Shame on you Lakeview! For those people looking into this facility as a treatment center, please do your research. Find out what facility your loved one will be attending and GET IT IN WRITING because everyone there either has selective memory or doesn t know what s going on. Be prepared for lack of communication, having to leave countless voicemails and no assistance with return travel accommodations. I ll be reporting this facilities unethical business practices to the BBB, NAATP, State of FL licensing agencies, Legitscript and FTC.
My stay at Lakeview Health literally saved my life. I could go on forever about the facility, from the accommodations, the state of the art gym, the pool, the great food and round-the-clock snacks, but that's not what makes this place special. What saved my life, and thousands of others, is the people.
The therapists truly care, and unlike many facilities are there, morning, noon and night, weekdays and weekends. When I discovered by accident that my job vanished eight days into treatment, when I was really vulnerable, therapists who weren't even assigned to me sought me out and made time to put it all in context. They put everything they had into making sure that we left there equipped for what was facing us in the real world, whether they were in group therapy or meeting with us 1:1. They worked as a team to make sure we got what we needed, and took the time to make sure it was what each patient needed, not a cookie cutter approach.
The nursing staff knew us all by name, knew our medications, and could tell by our faces how we were feeling and offer help. The cafeteria staff not only served us tasty, nutritious food that brought our abused bodies back to life, they knew us, what we liked for breakfast, and even which desserts we craved. The case managers made sure all our issues with work, disability and insurance were taken care of so we could focus on recovery, and the personal trainers made sure our bodies got what we needed to get better, not just what we wanted to do in the gym because it was what we always did. They knew us better than we knew ourselves.
But the heart and soul of the place are the BHAs, the people who made sure we went where we needed to go, be it a group session, or driving us to a specialty meeting offsite. These are the people you interacted with all day and all night if you needed someone, and they were tireless, many in recovery themselves, talking us through issues when they found us isolating or just hanging out. These were the hardest goodbyes when I left, and each sent me away to my renewed life with a hug and truly sincere wishes for the future. They knew us and cared.
And goodbye at Lakeview doesn't mean you're forgotten. The aftercare and alumni teams make sure your recovery continues, and check up via Facebook and the regular events they hold all over the country to keep us connected. I just recently went bowling with a bunch of people I knew and new friends I met that night when they came to South Florida. These are people who are invested in not just you getting clean, but keeping up with your recovery, which is the work of the rest of your life, which will be a long and happy one if you simply do what they teach you there, and the ever changing, but always solid community of staff, patients and the clinical team.
I can t tell you how thankful I am for Lakeview. I have been fighting this demon for over 5 years and the therapists, nurses and staff have given me so many tools to stay sober. I am truly grateful that I am able to attend support group and alumni events to help remind myself that I am not alone! Thank you for giving me the will & way to reclaim my life!
Thank you for letting me come back again. Not judging me and welcoming me back with open arms. This is amazing facility, with the most caring staff. I will not throw this opportunity away! Thank You, Lakeview.
Great staff, state-of-the-art facility, gym, and accommodations. However, If I could change anything, I would offer other recovery programs other than the religious-based/higher-power 12 Step Program. This class should never be mandatory, but often was told by staff that i needed to attend. Also, they should offer the same services to ALL client's regardless of gender (pedicures, massage, etc.) They also need a steam room or sauna.
Almost 3 years ago my son made a call to Lakeview. Lakeview helped him then and continues to help him through the alumni program. Thank you Lakeview for helping my son through his recovery! Our family is forever grateful!
My close friend had made the important decision to attend an inpatient program to deal with his alcoholism. After researching the various programs available, he chose Lakeview Health. Throughout his stay, he was able to stay in contact with me every weekend and keep me updated on his progress. We discussed the state of the art facility's structured program which focused on both his mental, social, and physical health. During his 2 month stay, I could hear it in his voice, that Lakeview was shaping him into a better person to not only battle his alcoholism, but to tackle life's other challenges when they presented themselves.
I am confident that Lakeview was a contributing factor and saving his life. I would recommend Lakeview to any loved one struggling with addiction.
Rehab isn't fun...but let's face it, it's not supposed to be. Lakeview helped me get my life back on track. I didn't love every activity or staff member but there were some who truly cared. I will be eternally grateful to the organization as a whole for saving my life.
I am committed as an alumni to give back where I can and will have a special place in my heart for many of the people there who helped me along the way...and still do today.
Lakeview can work if you are ready to change. #sober
Lakeview really helped me out. i came in with a trail of nonesence and every therapist i worked with, CA, and staff member helped me realize how easy it was to deal with problems and get over them. I left Lakeview and since its given me amazing life skills and personal skills i havent learned anywhere else. If you or a loved one is in need, lakeview is an amazing choice. Even though i struggled in the beggining of the program they did not give up on me. They helped me back up time and time again and didnt let go. if i could give 10 stars, i would!
Lakeview saved my life. I will be forever grateful for this rehab. I recommend lakeview to anyone who is struggling with addiction. 15 months sober from heroin, and i couldn't thank lakeview enough!
Lakeview changed my life in so many ways. Yes, I went there for help with my alcohol addiction but I got help in so many ways that I didn t know needed help. I cannot say enough about the ENTIRE staff! I have severe medical issues that we had to deal with as well and Dr O and the rest of the medical team were absolutely on top of it everyday!! The clinical team helped me find myself again and what more can you say about that other than thank you! I also received amazing care by the physical therapist. Then the amazing aftercare team that help and support me even now to remain sober! EVERYONE THERE TRULY CARES!! It s important to me that they all know that they truly changed my life! My daughter is walking advertisement for Lakeview! She is only 10 but has such great memories visiting me and seeing the change in her mother each visit has made a forever lasting impression on her. She would tell everyone but now that she goes to Al Ateen and has learned what anonymity is has toned it down a little. We certainly didn t know what to expect when I checked in and my family was very concerned about my Lupus and being in a very bad flare when I checked in how they would handle it. Again, the medical team exceeded mine and my families expectations and said they could handle it and not did they. I would recommend anyone suffering from addiction to go here. What an amazing place! I will forever be grateful! Thank you all for working so hard every day to help and change peoples lives! It s working!!!!
Had all the tools to start my recovery. All I had to have was a little willingness. Was a life changing and positive experience that I ll never forget. Thanks.
Lakeview Health, specifically the Stepping Stone facility truly saved my life. Upon arrival, I had been in active addiction for almost half my life. I never thought I'd be clean for a day, let alone the rest of my life. I am currently 83 days clean and I owe that ti Stepping Stone. Everyone from the therapists to the nursing staff, doctors, bha's, chefs, maintenance and house keeping played a vital role in making the facility so special. Everyone truly cares and is passionate about their jobs in helping others. I can not say enough about pleased I was with my experience. I would recommend absolutely anyone who is ready for a change to go to Stepping Stone or Lakeview. Best decision of my life. Thank you, Stepping Stone for saving my life!
I was at Lakeview for the month of July last summer, depressed, anxious and drinking to cope. I must say going in I was very skeptical and becoming hopeless with the cycle I found my self in. I must say it was one of the hardest and best thing I have ever done. The staff are very compassionate and caring the medical staff knowledgeable and understanding. I thought going in I would not last a week let alone a month, as it turns out after about two weeks I found myself healing, no alcohol, anxiety was gone and I was smiling and laughing with my peers. To make a long story short, I'm now sober because I went to this wonderful place and beyond hopeful about my future.
My son came here seeking help without anyone telling him. He was assigned to a therapist who had little experience in her field or in life. He went through the entire program with flying colors. he met several other people in the same situation and on release they all got together for a party. Three of the people he met here have been arrested within six months including one who murdered her boyfriend. There was no follow-up. They lied to him about what he would owe for this treatment. Less than a year later he is sitting in prison due to his addiction. This is not a program that helps people, they are only interested in getting insurance money. The "good" reviews were written by some of their own staff members.
This place was amazing!!! I was someone who struggled with addiction for many years after 8 different inpatient treatment centers over a course of 3 years, this was my last stop. I was actually able to unplug and get the therapy I ve been looking for. This place is gorgeous, the staff went above and beyond for me as well. I wasn t the easiest person at the start of my journey. The admissions team made me feel comfortable with my choice in coming here. It s my second family now. I am so grateful for Lakeview and love them so much. Thanks guys
This place is one huge insurance scam! The people on the phone are commissioned and will tell you anything to get you in the door. There is no real therapy here. The place is basically a big babysitting service. Most of your day consists of groups which you will play a board game or watch a movie just to waste time. There is NO one on one therapy. Most all employees are not qualified or knowledgeable of their jobs. You won't see a real doctor, only assistants. You won't see a real psychologist, only an assistant. The therapists are pretty much useless, and you will barely see them anyway. They list themselves as a dual diagnosis center and are supposed to treat PTSD, anxiety disorders, etc., but they don't have any treatment other than very basic substance abuse. They just want to milk your insurance company as long as possible. Go Somewhere Else!
About 7 months ago I was a lost soul. No willpower, no possessions, no faith. My mental and physical health deterating before the eyes of the few that still loved me. I was going to give up. I've never attended a rehab before but when I called around others all they cared about was money and not my well being. It was sick and made me hate the idea even more. As I continued my destructive ways, I received a phone call from lakeview. How they got my number I don't know. They got me on a plane the next night and off to Jacksonville I went. I was discouraged at this point because this is what my life came too. I was garbage in my own mind. I got picked up as soon as I landed and headed to lakeview where I was greeted by talented nurses and patients. I was slowly becoming less frightened. When I woke, I met with a therapist and doctors. I was also against taking anything for depression and anxiety because I was a self medicator and insisted that I didn't want to get hooked on anything. (You can see the irony there.) The doctors explained the medicines, didn't push anything I didn't agree too and I went on my days working with great therapists to find the root cause of my disease. Two months later after finding god, a program that works, coping skills and most importantly myself, I was sent on my way to take on the world again...sober. I was armed with coping skills and prayers, techniques and guidance that I use every day to stay sober. The Business office helped me with setting up my outside bills and getting me enrolled into college. The doctors set me up for success. My therapist brought out the best in me. Over all lakeview saved my life and I will be enternally grateful. Outside of the workers, I heard stories of success from the alumni director which gave me hope as well as met a group of friends I now call brothers. I'm not sure how other treatment centers do there programs but I am convinced this would be for me the most successful venture. Not all those who wander are lost. -Tim C. Grateful recovering alcoholic.
This place was the catalyst that was able to get me to the point in my life I'm at today. It wouldn't have been possible without Lakeview. The people they have working there are very friendly and very knowledgeable. I highly suggest lakeview for anyone needing a treatment center
Lakeview is at the top of my list. They make the referral process seamless, and I have complete confidence in their team and the care they provide. The facility is absolutely georgeous and so warm and inviting.
Lakeview saved my life, not only did it save my life but it saved my brothers life almost 5 years prior... along with many many many of my friends. I would recommend this facility to anyone who is suffering from active addiction because what they do here works. I've worked in a few treatment centers and personally nothing can compare to this facility. I was in active addiction for almost 14 years. More than half my life. I believed this disease was going to burry me and they taught me a new way of life. That anything is possible. I am so beyond grateful that I was put in their hands to be cared back to health. Thank you Lakeview for saving my life and showing me a new way to life.!
Lakeview is horrible and it s all about your insurance . They will try and do a rapid detox on you even though you have used opiates for over 10 years they think one week of detox is enough. My good friend I want mention was miserable there and ends up leaving just a few days before her release date because she was about dead. She made it over 5 weeks but because she left a couple of days early they made her departure miserable. They kept a bag of hers and didn t give any of her medications that her insurance paid for and said they would mail her bag . Never got it . I know since she has been home she is working with an addiction specialist that really knows what they are doing . My friend is feeling so much better and no thanks to Lakeview who about let her die. Also . One of the nurses there told her to suck it up when she was struggling week 2. If you have a friend or love one struggling do not send to Lakeview they will torture them .
