Always a warm welcome feeling here. You won't leav...

We first walked through the doors in September 2013. Amazing place to worship and praise God. Great small groups, incredible people, and approachable pastors who love Jesus.
Many things to appreciate and be thankful for regarding this church. Down to earth; solid, Biblical teaching that meets people where they are at; life-giving worship and a strong emphasis on community--both in how they partner with other churches and organizations in the region and foster small groups within. If you're looking for a perfect group of people who agree with everything you do, keep driving (though your trip will never end). If you're looking to grow deeper in your faith and invest your time and talents, this may be the place for you. Good, strong coffee too...
Lakeland is an amazing place, the pastors and the people have helped me become the best me as a wife, mother, and person. I am so thankful to call Lakeland my church home.
I really like this church so far. Great first impression. People seem really warm and welcoming. The messages are really good and relevant. The worship is really good and relevant too. The are plenty of activities through the week including small groups to attend which helps to get to know people. People of all ages go here. We have only been going for a while so honestly this is just a rating on first impressions but so far it seems like a great place to worship with your family.
Employees and volunteers at a church shouldn't lie but that's exactly what they're doing when posting positive reviews of LCC. There is evil in the walls here.
Awesome place to go to Church and just be yourself. Very nonjudgmental and full of love. Their twice weekly Celebrate Recovery group is a wonderful 12 step recovery program (like Alcoholics Anonymous, etc) with a Christian theme, that is a separate group from the Church. God is the "higher power" and focus, to solve ANY problem, addiction, or difficulties in our life. ALL are welcome and encouraged to come, regardless of your past or current situation. If you want to make serious life-long changes, this is the place to go. The Church also has many other groups and things to get involved with for every age. (PS. Celebrate Recovery now also meets on Tuesday morning at 9am, in addition to Tuesday and Friday nights at 6:30, but it's not listed on the website yet.)
Pastor was very helpful with person problem and was able to list me.
I ve called Lakeland home for many years. The prayer partners have helped me in times of need. Josh and Lisa do a great job spreading the word. They challenge me to always put God first and to keep things in perspective. Thanks Lakeland!
Lakeland Community Church is an extremely friendly, welcoming church with a powerful and accessible message of hope. I very much enjoy the real life applicable teachings and the way Pastor Josh brings meaning and a personal realationship with Christ. I feel very much at home at Lakeland in an exciting growing and vibrant church. If you are looking for answers and a place to grow, please come see what Lakeland Community Church is all about.
Warm and friendly and most importantly bible based! Awesome worship music also.
Outstanding church with great leadership. Happy to call Lakeland our church home.
I absolutely love Lakeland Community Church! We used to attend Crosspointe in Whitewater. We loved it there and that church helped me through the most difficult time in my life (losing my mom to cancer & my dad being diagnosed with cancer). We wanted to find a church closer to Elkhorn but I was scared I wouldn't find a connection with another church like I did CP. We decided to try Lakeland and have been going ever since! The faith, transparency, and love for our Savior that this church shows is amazing! So glad we found our other home church!
Not any crosses in this so called church. Theirs a big stage but nothing points to Jesus. Just the people on stage. SMH.
Lakeland and its leadership deliver a message every week that hits home and makes my family look forward to going the next Sunday. This is a very humble group of believers looking to make a real impact on people lives. If you are looking for answers, are curious, or you need a group of friendly humble Christians to surround yourself with, I have found no better church in my life.
We're really grateful to have found Lakeland! There's special needs ministry as been an absolute blessing. all of our kids have found a really great place in the different Sunday morning programs they offer. Or grateful to be a part of this vibrant church community and excited to get more involved. We've been blessed and learned a lot by the teaching on Sunday mornings, and were excited about being group leaders for the financial peace class happening.
Great sermons, messaging and life application to scripture. Great community outreach church, including missions, small group engagement and volunterr encouragement. Excellent children's and youth programs. Very friendly staff and congregation. Caution: the greeters were Covid masks, but the congregation has masks optional, and about 80% OF ATTENDEES DO NOT WEAR MASKS FOR PROTECTION. Could be very unsafe.
I had to give at least one star but my true review is 0 stars. Horrible place. Not a good church. The auditorium is dark. The only lights are those that are for the stage. There are colored flashing lights and a fog machine for the singers. Absolutely no one knew that my family and I were even there. No one greeted us. Only time I saw the pastor was on the stage. I looked for him after the service and he was gone. Where did he go? the message was sub par at best. No feeling of the Holy Spirit at all. Feels like a very self serving church. My advise, visit other churches in the area and stay away from this one.
Whenever we are in town, we always come to hear pastor Josh. Then we walk away with something we can apply in our life today. Thank you, thank you!
Teresa
Great experience! One of the top churches I've been to.
Lakeland has been my home for four years now and I mean that in every since of the word Home. Home is where you are welcomed. Home is where you are challenged and sharpened and matured. Home is not free of conflict but a safe place for brave conversations and intentional relationships. If you're looking for a church to plug into, do life with, and grow alongside, I think you should give Lakeland a shot.
Come with an open mind, an open heart and a desire for a real community full of imperfect people after the heart of God.
It's a very large n the way they decorations are set up on the stage, it's beautiful! I was going to Mt. Zion, but it's a 35 minute drive to and from there when Lakeland Community Church is 8 minutes from my house... I love the singers n the rest of the band! I feel at home!
Lakeland has been such a welcoming place for our family. The people are authentic and real and such a light for Jesus! The children s ministry is incredible, the small groups are life changing. Come join us!!!
Lakeland is a wonderful and inviting church. Whether you are a lifelong believer or have never been in a church before you will be welcomed and cared for here! The staff and congregation alike are very friendly. It is large and still growing so you likely won t get to know everyone, but you can easily get connected with people and make some great friendships. Small groups are another great opportunity to get involved, and the church is working hard to make sure there is space for everyone in a small group that fits who they are. Worship is modern and the worship team is very talented.
My husband and I have been attending lakeland for five years. We still remember it like it was yesterday. Our first week, people were so friendly and welcoming. I grew up in the church, and had never experienced such a welcoming and genuine community. The second week, Pastor Josh introduced himself to us and said he had also seen us visiting the week before! His sermons are based straight out of the Bible, yet he teaches the Bible in a way anyone can understand and relate to. Lisa has taught me so much about worship and it s become such a bigger part of my life than it ever was before. The worship team is just amazing. Five years later, my husband and I are still as on fire about Lakeland as we were the first Sunday we walked in. We are excited for our kids to encounter Christ here as they grow up because yeah, the children s ministry is also awesome.
I'm sure those who attend enjoy their experience spiritual or otherwise. The church is popular. The neighbors in the community have been repeatedly involved in attempting to get this "neighbor" to NOT commit violations to their conditional use permit. The neighbors have listed a series of complaints to the Township of unneighborly actions.
Some horrible people work and volunteer here; I would never walk thru the doors! Liars, Liars, Liars! Stay away!
The staff, the music, the small groups... I could go on and on and on are incredible at Lakeland!!! We love this church! If you want to be uplifted and hear a weekly message and some awesome music come to Lakeland!!! Plus they are super welcoming and a great place to make new faithful friends! We are so thankful God has lead us to a place we call home!!!
From the first time I attended Lakeland it was evident to me that the church is all about lifting up the name of Jesus unashamedly. The staff love the Lord and are serving Him with their whole hearts. I've been in a difficult time in my own life much of the time I've been at Lakeland but know there are people that care and places to get involved and be a part of what God is doing.
Grace based and Christ centered. A great church that cares for all people professional and loving focus on your children.
This is not at all how church should be done. Jesus loved everyone and spent time with the "undesirables" of society. Yes He wanted them to follow Him, to leave their old life behind, but He never once lorded over them with a stone (which only HE had every right to cast) condemning them for their sins, their infirmaries, or their circumstances. I had heard that there was this rapidly growing church in Walworth County and I had to see it for myself. In my short visit I earned three valuable bits of insight:
1. The Pastors are incredibly self-important. Don't believe me? Check out Josh's "public figure" profile on Facebook. Furthermore, see how many videos they "star" in on their website.
2. The small groups are glorified cliques. I sent off emails to three different groups and only heard back from one of which I was told there was no room. I had heard rumors of these impenetrable inner circles but have now experienced them first hand.
3. The way that this church has thrown away some of its dedicated members is disgusting. Again, I had only heard the rumors but have now had the opportunity to witness this first hand as I have spoken candidly with two of the reviewers from Google. Have you read what others have said about this place? It isn't a wonder that this church doesn't have Facebook reviews enabled. If they had nothing to be ashamed of, that wouldn't be the case.
In closing, this is not what Paul and other members of the early church had in mind when they were in and out of prison for doing the work of the Lord. People did not die so that there could be a fashion show with fog machines and theologically shallow lyrics set to larger than life videos of those on stage performing for the masses in an arena like setting. In such a big beautiful building, I found absolutely no where to grow.
From the moment I walked into this place it felt like home. I was greeted by many kind faces into a familiar feeling contemporary service. I moved up to South Eastern, WI about three years ago and I have found my second family here.
The pastors are all super kind and loving people and they consistently fill sermons with a good balance of hard truth and encouragement. This is as true on Sundays as it is in Youth Group on Wednesdays.
Lakeland has been a great place for me to hone my giftings through volunteer positions and leadership opportunities. They have a great system in place to encourage people to grow and remain well supported. While, honestly, this aspect hasn't always been true, as the church has grown so has the quality of what they have to offer.
The church body has grown to be such a loving and inviting place where you are welcome to come as you are and encouraged to be more like Jesus through every experience.
Actually 0 stars. Stay away from this place. I attended for several years but they are more interested in numbers then you as a person. Sure the music is entertaining but beyond that, there s not much substance. Just as long as people are still coming in the doors, they don t care about the people leaving. Yeah it s all warm and fluffy at first but as soon as you get to know how it operates, you won t want to stay. It s an extremely cliquey place and unless you have money, the main pastor won t give you the time of day. For everyone thinking that main Pastor (Josh) is the best thing since sliced bread, IF you last here for a couple years you ll think otherwise. He s a man with a huge ego who has stepped on a lot of people to get the church to where it s at. My guess is the appeal will eventually wear off.
If you notice some of these reviews, the nice looking families that look perfect on the outside are the ones leaving positive reviews. That s because Josh and Lisa give these people the time of day. They want their church to look perfect. Anytime someone or family comes in that s not the perfect look they don t care about you. Since we left, we see them in public but they look away trying to avoid us. This church is the church of Josh and Lisa, not Jesus church.
Selecting a church is a very personal choice. I personally have found my faith grow leaps and bounds since I began to attend Lakeland in 2017. I truly believe that God has been at work here. There are so many ways to be involved and pursue a relationship with Jesus. Even if you can't attend in the building regularly, you can stream services live or on-demand on YouTube, Facebook, and their own website. Outside of the normal weekend services, there are many programs and groups to join up with. When looking for a church home, this is one worth checking out to see if it is right for you. If you are just wanting to learn more about Jesus, this is also a great place to start your journey.
How can you call yourselves Christians and say to come as you are when you do nothing but comdemn those that do? What a shame that you're such a large church but have such a small conscience.
This building, I will not call it a church, is a place to worship Mammon. When you have to look like the world to attract the world, you then have to maintain the facade to hold their interest. In doing so you alienate the true believers that are hungry for the Jesus of the Bible. This equation caters to the 80% trying to buy their way into heaven while the remaining 20% stay and starve or leave. The leadership here are not concerned with those that leave. This is a business, it isn't a house of worship, it is a den of thieves.
We've been at Lakeland about 2 years and just love it. We are involved in a small group and enjoy the fellowship. The pastors give a message that I can take to my work place and share. The worship is a great experience. Looking forward to the new worship series called "The Calling".
Authentic , energetic , inspirational! Great vibe and memorable, awesome staff and members. Blessed is he who comes in the name of the lord
Very friendly. Great service and motivating message. Will definitely be back.
In times of adversity, trials, and tribulations Lakeland is more than a church: It is a community. With resources like Celebrate Recovery to help with hurts, habits, and hangups and small groups, there are Christians waiting to encourage, support you, and share with you that God loves you and you are worthy as is. You don't have to be alone and you can come as you are.

I love this church!!!!!! My husband and I are always greeted every time we walk through those doors. Always a smiling face welcoming to you!!! We've been attending for more than a year and are blessed with each teaching.
I read that some feel they weren't welcomed, but I don't know how that's possible because everyone is so genuine and compassionate. I am not rich and never felt judged for not having "as much" as others.
My husband and I have never felt happier and more content at a church than we have at Lakeland.
I HIGHLY recommend checking them out and leaving the judgement at the door that Lakeland is accused of eminating.
Go to church for God, not to fit in to a social club
Lakeland has been our home for many years. The people who have been at our side helped us to become the family we are. Lisa and Josh are wonderful leaders - the Holy Spirit leads their way. I cannot say enough about the wonderful people who serve so diligently every single day. We love Lakeland - it is a positive and wonderful place to come and find the peace of the lord. As far as women pastors - we may know our past - thinking that taught us that only men can lead. God does not chose women or men - we are so very extremely fortunate to have Lisa as our Pastor. We need to move on to the new generation - women should not have to fight for their place anymore. We are leaders, mothers, sisters, wives, builders of bridges - without us what would there be?
This is a truly God driven place! Pastor Josh and Lisa delivers a powerful message every time they speak! My family and I have been here for 6 years now! This church has helped save my life, my marriage and my opportunity to be a father! I just spoke to a husband and wife that were visiting from out of town. They were amazed at how Josh spoke right too them threw his message!! To top it it off Josh didn't believe he did a good job delivering his message but he killed it like he does every week Awesome church

Love this church! Attendees every week!
AWESOME LOVE MUSIC!!! CONCERT TYPE!!
This Church is not LGBTQ friendly by a long shot. They are not all inclusive. Come as you are but leave as we wa t you to be is what their sign should say. It s extremely disturbing to me that a Church this large and wealthy exsists so comfortably in our community.
Lakeland has a small church feel...Bible based church...not run by a celebrity pastor...staff is loving, direct and focused. You are encouraged to live life with a small group...and this church body celebrates recovery!!
Lakeland's website states they believe that baptism is an outward expression of and inward belief. They state they believe in the Trinity. God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. However they allow people who DO NOT believe this lead a small group. I find this very troubling.
This church is awesome I love going here everybody's so friendly in the worship is awesome it's so anointed
No, Kris. The right thing to do here is to spare others from experiencing the hurt and blatant anti-Christian treatment one can expect from the leaders of Lakeland Community Church. I am blown away that this place attracts anyone with the amount of negative feedback that abounds, not just on this platform but by word of mouth. It's true what you hear, this is the church of Josh and Lisa. They have nobody to answer to. They use lies and avoidance techniques to get out of having to commiserate with the undesirables. My experience here was nothing but negative and yes, the first six months were golden but as I tried to get more involved, I began to see the place for what it truly is. Don't give your time or especially your money to these people, it goes right into their pockets!
God moves in this place. Humans occupy this place. There is no perfection here, but there is an obvious moving of God and His spirit throughout this church. I m glad to be a part of what God is doing here.
Bottom line:
If you re looking for perfect then you will have to go somewhere else but.... if your looking for Jesus then show up, because He does, every time!!!!
The people, place and pastor are amazing. A good worship group and inviting atmosphere.
It's a great church I'll give five stars but they have a woman Pastor from time to time and that's against the word of God. But I did go in and talk to them they are a bible-believing church except for that
An incredibly horrible person works there. Stay away from her! K.D. Is a dishonest person! Place dues nit care about you!...don't fall for the act.
My family has been attending for about 3 years, and felt immediately welcome when first visiting. The congregation is kind and helpful, the worship band is wonderful (contemporary Christian music), the children's ministry is educational, engaging, and fun, and the message has always been relatable, understandable, and clear. All around great non denominational Christian church.
I seen great change this weekend thank you. Glad I gave it one more shot.
Very displeased. Very angry. My daughter was treated with a level of disrespect I have never thought possible in a church. The leadership needs to take a good hard look at themselves, their actions and their words. Quite a shame they answer to nobody, not a governing body or denomination.
My family has been at Lakeland for many years, shortly after they opened their doors there on Hwy 67. I've known it when it was small and everyone knew everyone, and I know it now that it's pushing 2000 and you can't possibly know everyone. It's been amazing to watch this church grow and change so many lives. Whether it be through just our services, small groups or celebrate recovery. People are finding relationships with Jesus each and every week and that is what we are called to. My life has literally been saved by Lakeland, I struggle so hard with depression and through guidance, sermons and the way Josh always points everything back to the throne of God has helped me keep my head above water. This church and it's staff and congregation have truly been life changing.
Online this week was incredible! What a great job bringing God s word to us when are all staying home
All of the positive reviews here have been made by friends of the Amstutz family and their minions. Whenever their rating drops and honest reviews come in, they and others in their inner circle put out a plea for the "faithful" to go and leave "a good word" about the church. I hope that anyone reading here is smart enough to see for themselves the sickness that exists within the walls of this place. There are so many other churches in our area that may not have an expensive new auditorium or a flashy band to play on its stage, but there's real anointing elsewhere at places where you can truly come as you are without fear of being judged for how you dress, a medical condition or the amount in your bank account. Truly, anywhere but here. Don't learn the hard way like I did.
Horrible Child-Care. They will turn children away if they are too full or you maybe be a tad bit late. Shocked and dismayed at this. Will not be returning.
They spent a ton of money to expand the building but it's still not big enough to accommodate the enormity of Josh and Lisa's egos. On the other hand, this place is now almost the size of their house! My advice: RUN!
Pastor Josh is such a genuine person who loves God and his family.
I visited a few times but I feel a strong check in my spirit not to return. First, it felt so impersonal. I was never greeted. Nobody noticed me at all. Second, the worship is all about what's happening on stage. It was hard to tell if I was in a club or in church. It was very obvious who the lead singer is and the rest of the production clearly takes a back seat to that gal. Another point of contention would be the sermons. These are the kind you read about under the "tickling ears" category. Lastly, I have read a great deal about the lack of fiscal accountability here and that is very troubling. In my search I've uncovered that what some previous reviews here claim is true. Also, the leadership have taken several exotic vacations this year. I'm lucky to get a vacation every five years. Such a lavish life. As pointed out by another commentator, I too do not make near enough money to fit in with this crowd so my search continues.
I have been attending Lakeland for a little over five years and have been greatly blessed by their ministry! Upon entering the church grounds on Sundays, you are greeted by friendly volunteers working the parking lots, entry points, and lobby. The kids rooms are staffed with volunteers who care for your kids and encourage them! My preschooler is always sharing afterwards about the project he did in class and what he learned about Jesus.
Once you are in the sanctuary be prepared to get your worship on! The teams leading seek to prepare the audience for an authentic encounter with GOD. The modern style may be new and different than what some are used to, but worship comes in all forms.
The sermons never cease to encourage and challenge my husband and I. We always leave saying, 'It is like he knew EXACTLY what I needed'. I have grown up in church all my life, gone to a Christian college and still can barely think of 3 sermons that I heard or changed my life in that time. That cannot be said about the messages here. They stick with you and several have led to huge break throughs and wins in my spiritual life.
I love the community that is here as well. We are a big church, and coming from a small church background, I know it can be frustrating when you don't feel connected. That is one reason such emphasis is put on small groups and serving. Getting in groups connects you and challenges you in your everyday life. They are like an extended family who will be there for you in times of need and to celebrate wins. There is a verse 'As iron sharpens iron, so does a good friend'. The people in the groups I have been in have helped me live out my faith more intentionally and and become a better follower of Jesus.
They have a number of other ministries that seek to meet you where you are and provide support. I was greatly cared for by their prayer team after my miscarriage. To this day, I treasure the words and verses they gave me. MOPS provides a great opportunity during the week for moms with preschoolers to have a time to fill their cup and encounter Jesus. Celebrate recovery always has amazing testimonies about what GOD is doing in the lives of their members as well.
Josh and the other pastors are very kind and personable. They authentically care for their flock and long for GOD to meet each person every week. After being there as long as I have, I can see how genuine their hearts are for reaching everyone with the good news of Jesus.
The mission statement of Lakeland is 'Leading people to follow Jesus, be changed by Jesus, and committed to the mission of Jesus... because lives are at stake'. This is how they see things and make decisions. If you are looking for a church to just come to in order to check it off your to do list for the week, you may not like it. However, if you are looking for something new or life changing- you should check it out! Bring an open mind and open heart!
My husband dont HAVE DEMONS!!!!!!! HE HAVE EPOLEPSY! I cant be on the pray team cuz of this?! ARE UUFOR REAL?!!!??! HIPACRITE!!!!!!!!!
I've been going to Lakeland for 6 years now. It has been huge blessing to my family. From various small groups, kids leaders, worship, sermons, you name it. I really believe they seek the Lord for direction and reaching Walworth County.
We are so happy that we tried Lakeland Community Church...we love it! I also appreciate the pod casts/ live streaming for when we can't physically make it there. They do so much for the kids & that was important for me/ us. Keep up the great work Lakeland!!! :-)
