Course in pretty good shape given all the rain we've had. Fairways are narrow so hit the them straight or pay the price. Greens slow this time of the year. Had great deli sandwich in restaurant after round. Staff are friendly.
Great public course has a good oretkce green and alot of different hole layouts. It is not a hard course but definitely a beautiful course for the price and it is never really super crowded. Twilight rates are really good
Nicely maintained, very pretty golf course. Good variety..fun golf course.
First time I ve been here in years. Nice little course!
Had a 9:07 AM tee time today. They allowed a five-some of women in the spot before us. Pace of play was slow given five players in one group. Rest of the course was open in front of them. We were playing ready golf and the two-some behind us hit their drives over our heads 4 different times. Of course they apologized, but the last time I came unglued and went off. This was all the result of the slow five-some and a poor decision by management to allow a five-some during a morning weekend round.
I always enjoy having a couple beers and lunch after our round, but after today......not sure I'll be back. Too many other options available these days.
Greens were great. Somewhere I read this was a rather walkable course r/t the yardage I guess. Maybe some dumb AI bot because the layout is extremely convoluted I certainly wont be back
The course was in great shape considering it's the middle of March.
run of the mill course. it's fine as long as the green fees are reasonable.
This course really fits my eye. One of my favorite course. Short, but narrow. Will definitely be back
Great test of accuracy greens still growing in after sanding hit are rolling nicely
Wannabe hulk and sicario make this an interesting experience outside of golf. Besides the fragile egos the course is fun and great value!!
This is a fun course. It s short but challenging as the holes wind through friendly houses.
Course is currently in the best shape I've ever seen it!! GREAT bartender and food!! If you like to walk, this is doable, however, coming up 18 is challenging after a full day on the course.
It's a fun short course that my 14 handicap can break 80 at. Driver followed by 8 iron is pretty much the name of the game here. Nice banquet hall and bar are a plus. Pro Shop lady was nice but seemed uninformed about tournament formats and pace of play.
Paid to play nine. Started out at 5:45 pm. By 8 pm the sprinklers came on. Everyone was dodging water on the greens while trying to putt. Doubt I'll go back.......and oh! Ask me about the greenskeeper.....annoying as heck!
This course is beginner friendly. It has alot of short par 4's that a beginner can really get at. For veteran players the course is just out right fun times. The course is a wager's dream.
The greens are money and the staff is super! Little Agusta of the pnw
Been playing this course weekly for five years they have made good improvements and have friendly staff give it a try you will like it !
Nice course, staff is very cordial. Course is well maintained throughout.
The greens are in excellent condition! The bunkers need work. Overall for the price it's not a bad round
Went to play with a friend during the week, who did not have set of clubs. Upon paying and teeing up at the first tee, the front desk lady comes out and tells us we can not golf because we can not share a set of clubs. Okay, fair enough. Rules are rules. However, Lake Wilderness failed to refund me the $101 I was charged for two people to golf 18 holes with a cart. I did not get to play, and I did not get my money back. After calling them to discuss this, the young lady that answered the phone was unwilling to help and said if I want my money back then I need to dispute the charge. Avoid this place AT ALL COSTS, otherwise you will be the one incurring the costs.
Great place to play golf evaluating yeah I just give it a few hours give good reviews on here but city way
Relatively cheap price for the round. Course is short. Greens are in great condition. Similar conditioned courses charging 20$ more per round this time of year.
Awesome short course, a bit rough in some areas but definitely playable.
Nice short course, for those of us with room to improve our game...
Tee boxes need help, but fairways and greens in good playing shape
Fun course. Most par 4 holes are short but demand accuracy. Challenging layout. Nice varied hole design.
Greens were great. Somewhere I read this was a rather walkable course r/t the yardage I guess. Maybe some dumb AI bot because the layout is extremely convoluted I certainly wont be back
Food is okay for a golf course. About par to your standard golf course. About the same as high cedars
This a fun golf course I look forward to playing again! It could use better signage for some of the holes as it winds through a neighborhood and it's easy to go the wrong way. Not too challenging (compared to other courses in the area) and priced just right.
Awesome greens for the price. The tee boxes could use a bit of work. Great Pro's (Steve is the best). You can always get out early. Tight course, so be accurate or bring many balls.
The course should be in better condition. New management (CourseCo) has made ZERO difference to course. They no longer offer discounts, so for the price, I recommend going to Maplewood down the road.
My 6 year old son, who has been golfing since 2, was turned away per city rules . He has played all over the state and never been turned away. Very disappointed.
Really good place for beginners to golf. I was upset after trying to order a burger and a beer. The lady was rude and said its going to take long since she was the cook and the bartender. Not a very friendly person.
This is a fine golf course, but I was troubled by what I witnessed today while waiting to tee off (6/14/2020). The group ahead of us was large, maybe 12 players total, and was broken up into 3 or four groups. While waiting to tee off, the staff sent out a twosome in the middle of their groups. When one of the players went to ask why they were being split up from the rest of their group, a staff member (a slightly older man) told him that the twosome he sent out ahead had a tee time and that s why they were going first. The obvious implication from this statement is that the large group did not have tee times, which was of course not the case; they had a tee time and had been waiting patiently like everyone else. The staff member continued to be condescending and rude to these golfers, who all happen to be black men. The whole interaction felt very wrong to me and so I felt compelled to leave this review. If I were in their shoes I would have been very insulted and angry. I went to speak with the manager after our round, but they were closed. I hope someone from management sees this review and takes appropriate steps to remedy the situation.
Very small golf course however, it is beautiful and the people there are caring and nice.
Friendly people, relatively flat fairways, some of the best greens in the northwest, and a good pace of play
Played in a tournament and had an absolute blast. Friendly staff and a fun course to play.
The course is fun. I ve golfed here for years. Lake wilderness is like a cheap motel, though. Everyone trashes this place and the grounds keeper is horrible. Not sure what they do besides cut the grass. But every experience here is the same. The tee boxes are absolutely destroyed and the greens are horrible. Who ever maintains the property is absolutely clueless. None of the tee boxes are level. None of them. They never move the tee spots, so there s never an opportunity for the grass or ground to recover. There are large uneven sections from weeks, months worth of people teeing off in the same spot. If you want to get drunk, not care about the course, and get more drunk, this is the place for you. Because they clearly don t care about the quality of game their customers experience.
Had a great time. The course is in really good shape. Can't wait to get back and golf there again
The management , the groundskeepers and other employees are making the course very enjoyable. A good score on 18 especially makes you anxious to return.
My son and I took out our 7 year old granddaughter today to golf with us.. The staff was so inviting as they always are.. By far my fav course to golf, especially when your treated with courtesy and respect every time, to start your round.. And the course always plays well regardless of weather.. Big thumbs up for the staff.
BAIT AND SWITCH SCAM Called on the phone to get a tee time and was told $30 which included a cart. When I got there the price was $46. They even admitted to false information being given out on the phone regularly, but apparently are too incompetent to fix the problem. They also tried to cheat me out of a groupon certificate that I had bought, saying things contradictory to what the actual certificate stated. Save your self some frustration and play one of the many other great options in the area. ie. Elk Run, Druids Glen or Jade Greens.
Solid Course for ,money maintained average to good on warm saesonsoupy in winter but defiantly keep it up to par as on playable conditions. even if raining
Very friendly staff, good coarse conditions. Food in restaurant just alright
It's a great course! Always a challenge but not too hard.
A short, fun public golf course that allows you to play all your tricks in the bag from sharp dog legs to blind tee shots. The course is quite easy but a great one in the area to play with friends who are more on the beginner side.
Nice peaceful Northwest golf experience. Some unique layouts that make prior course knowledge a plus. Some tee boxes weren't in great shape, but noticed many of them being rebuilt/resodded which is great.
Quite the place. Always a good time. You'll love it too.
The staff were not nearly as forgiving as this course was. They repeatedly told us to "hurry up", even though we were only waiting out of safety concerns for the group ahead of us.
Fun 18 hole course has a little of everything, the downside is the residential nature of several holes
This is the run of the mill little town golf course. The staff is very friendly and the course was in good shape. Pace of play was about 4 hours and we were stacked up 3 groups starting on 5 due to a senior tournament that was going on. Will play again as the price was reasonable for what you get. they also have a lunch special where it is $50 for 18, a cart and lunch at the end of your round.
We had a wonderful time! Course was in great shape especially since it is December!!
