First time ever there and it was for the Christmas decorations. The volunteers are amazing and the effort they put forth just made the visit very pleasurable. Lake County should do A LOT more events involving the people who run this site. Definitely bring back the ghost tours I want to know more!

Beautiful setting. Fascinating building. Great collections. A gem in Lake County! Really enjoyed the Pancake Breakfast, the Salute to Soldiers and the candle making experience with the children. Looking forward to this year's events.

Fun times at Family Fun Day! Great for toddlers, children. Lots of great activities. Free ice cream! What's better than that!? My 2 year old danced to the Pfabes Music Rock School Band, and tried to join the band! Great event. First timer. We'll be back next year for sure.
Great building with interesting exhibits. Doesn't have much for kids inside but has fun programs to register them for.
Took the haunted lantern tour at night. It was very informative but disappointing that we were not permitted in the basement. I think that should be specifically called out in the event description. As amateur paranormal investigators, we we're counting on seeing the basement where people were restrained, etc. as paranormal experiences have been reported there. The guide said we could record for EVP but never kept everyone quiet long enough to do so. They did give some people dowsing rods which was fun but very gimmicky. I would recommend this tour for the historical information but not for actual paranormal anything.
This is a treasure for Lake County, and it deserves and needs our support!
I signed up for the Christmas craft show, was harassed for payment because they never received my check, gave them another $50.00 in cash, they took check to bank after I stopped payment on the check and then wanted me to cover $12.00 bank fee, we decided not to do the show due to poor handling of the situation and the un-professionalism of the administration and now will not return my money after several attempts of sending them emails.
