L'Escargot charges a 14.5% service charge but the service we experienced was sub-par. The staff need training asap.

Took some friends for dinner at L'Escargot. The food was delicious. We had snails - because we wanted to see what they are like, garlicky wonderfulness! I had the chilli crab and then the confit duck which were both really good.
The atmosphere was lively, and the service very good. No sign of the stuffiness I expected. After dinner we went upstairs to listen to the live music.

Food was excellent but service was abysmal. We were asked to move tables 3 times in 2 hours, were sat once on a couch with a broken arm and our finished food sat uncleared for over an hour. Staff were pretty rude, and no-one was around to provide our bill - we had to go to reception to pay. not a great experience at all.

A gem of a location for dinner. On arrival we were made to feel really welcome. The waiter was attentive and knowledgeable about the menu when asked for allergy advice.
The food was delicious and there was plenty of it. I would happily visit again and recommended to a friend.

It's one of those places you have heard of and deserves a visit. I went for lunch during the week. The decoration and service were great. No one at our table went with the snails but the meals were nice if not spectacular. The feeling of being somewhere special comes across and the staff help with that. Everyone at our table agreed. It's a place that deserves to be on everyone's must do list and we must make sure these well known places stay around.

I can't describe how inteste felt the taste of the dishes from this place in my mouth. IMPORTANT: Try at least one of the snails options you'll be missing out.
However, all the other choices are delicious as well, like the risotto (best I've had in my entire life), or the tournedos rossini (beef fillet with foi gras and truffle).

I would describe it as a perfect place for a date, as it has sort of a romantic and elegant ambience, created by the warm lighting, luxurious decoration, art on the walls and live piano music.

WARNING TO ALL DOG OWNERS: this place is not dog friendly, as advertised. They would not let us have our small dog on our lap. On top of this manager was very rude. We promptly left without ordering anything. Don t advertise that you are a dog friendly restaurant, if you are not!
