the Most notorious rip off in the valley. Millions and millions of dollars and no one ever housed. They ve never given anyone a motel voucher or housed a soul. American greed at it s finest ripping off the poor for personal gain. Hope the feds sieze this multi million dollar scam. Don t believe me see for yourself. They don t even answer the phone anymore they just hang up on everybody. Just sad.

Wouldn't rather be homeless anywhere else. Great staff that really care about getting you off the streets.

This is a wonderful place to be in if your homeless and give you anything you need and furniture.

Place is a joke .... The staff let a man pass because no one would do CPR on him.

Went looking for help with housing and they didn't offer me anything

Many conflicting personalities. A daily challenge. Short term it is ok. Lock up what you own or it will get stolen. No good for lounging or government paid get away vacation . Make of it what you will. Recommended for strong highly motivated people.

Lived in the family side. Nice to be, but there's a lot of drama once you conversate with others. Best to keep to yourself.

I had the opportunity of staying about 12 yrs ago. I had just been released from CDC Chino. The veterans program was kindof hard to deal with after being locked up, but Shannon &JamesWhite, were there the whole time for me helping me adjust. I went through a couple of jobs at first but eventually got something good, I purchased/ financed a new car and save up some money so that I could go home to my family. That was 12 yrs ago, I drive by there now and imagine that the residents are indeed lucky for having the opportunity to get back to society.

They used to stand for something now they send you away saying well everyone is homeless. There was no help. Worst experience of my life

We've been staying here since July 28 so far so good they're just a little slow doing intakes they also no longer have a program FOR housing HIV/AIDS patient you have to go to an outside housing specialist how can a shelter loose hud contracts We have now been here eight months we have been robbed twice & LAFH did nothing to the people who committed the crimes instead we were reprimanded for allowing it to happen

Case managers are dope, the clients complete opposite

I'm a reluctant resident. NOT safe,and I've been viciously attacked in my bed. Staff is rude,unprofessional. One can't believe the blatant LIES your told to keep you there! No walk-ins,either. Supposedly a Prioritized list exists, but dont believe it.

They helped me move into a beautiful home. The staff has beautiful women as well. I love the family vibe most of all.

Safe, modern, and plenty of amenities. I enjoyed my visit here and was met by helpful and courteous staff.

Good place 4 Vets! The only problem is Gym lockers are small in Rooms!

This place is a homeless shelter and mental institution, crack house all in one. Its literally 1 step above the streets. They are rebuilding a new facility next door that looks bigger and better. I hope they hire staff that want to help people and not just focus on catching them break the rules which they only enforce when they feel like it. I was there for 3 mos and had both the staff leave at the same time when I approached to ask a question. My room was on the first floor and the slats from the blinds were missing conveniently where my bed was so I had all kinds of perverts watching me sleep and shower. When I put something up there so no one would look ( even in the bathroom window), when I returned later in the day, I would find that one of my 5 roommates would take it down like they wanted the pervs to see me. Oh and one of my roommate's stole my phone while I was asleep. Only to deny it like crazy when I asked. She also used to steal my other roommates belongings as well. She assaulted an elderly woman and gave her a black eye and no disciplinary action was taken out on her. When she was in the wrong. I have helped this woman and she flipped out on me for no reason. If I ever see her (KG)ever again it would be waaay too soon

This is the worst company in have ever experienced service from. They don t care about your situation or concerns. How do you get in touch with them when they didn t inform you they ve changed numbers. When you call it s says the number doesn t work. That s bad business ethics. Very unprofessional.

Reception staff has too much attitude. Place is under construction and there's no parking structure available.

This place was Sooooo helpful!! I got a "reduced fee form" for my ID!! Now I only have to pay $8 at the DMV!! freaking awesome! They told me to send my friends!! So, GO!!

I just took my daughter to fill out her paperwork for her new job. Really nice people!

The Armenian lady, she should not even be working there she lied to me got my phone number and never called me back. She said I have to be homeless for 10 years to get a housing. This is not true. You have to be only homeless for 45 days to be qualified for housing by law.

I wish that people would realize that not everyone that is homeless is a drug attic or an alcoholic.

I need help we are currently living with an uncle of mine. Its just me and my mom and my nephew. I need help to apply to this program my mom is going to get surgery From an aunerism thats in her head and we just moved from fresno. We really need help . Where can we go??

They took me in and kept me safe and Fed me for a year and a half and more, until I could take care of myself

This place needs to be audited and see where the federal funds are really going.
They don't help even if you are pregnant they just throw a list of useless numbers and tell you to call 211 and that's it.

I want to give a shout out to the humble employees working here. Jennifer, Tasha, and Mykala.

Stephany from L.a family housing is awesome as well she is very empathetic and understanding. I have been working with her since the beginning of this year. She is very respectful and humble. She goes out of her way to put you in a good place. She is top notch.

Jennifer brings life into the bridge housing shelter; she is a really hard worker. Whenever Jennifer is here she makes this place feel like a house. She makes me laugh and my son absolutely loves her. Jennifer and Mykala work really hard on a daily basis to keep the facility clean.They interact with us homeless people on a daily basis without putting us down. They are really patient with the children and always answer my questions. They go above and beyond there job duties literally. For example Jennifer made candy bags for all the kids here (Halloween) and Mykala made posole for all the families here. They are compassionate women.

My case manager Mrs.Tasha is living proof that anything is possible if you put your mind to it. Mrs. Tasha started off as a residential assistant and went back to school to become a case manager. Hearing her story really motivates me; she is a really admirable person. She is currently assisting me with bettering my life, by setting goals, budgets etc. Mrs.Tasha tries really hard to meet everyone's needs asap; her communication skills are great. We all just need to remember to be patient and not expext everything to change over night. She is providing me with all the resources and help I need to succeed in life.

It helps homeless veterans and people that had lost jobs and their homes and mentally I'll people get housing and medical services and counseling some residents go to college and school it has it's ups and downs but for the most for this to work the community needs to understand that on both sides of this transitional living facility their are people that really need to be understood that being homeless for so many years you become mentally unstable maybe if the public or neighborhood residents can come to visit L.A Family Housing to see what it's all about.

We looked it up because we needed info on what steps it takes to be housed here. We need homeless family services and to get a spot you have to be homeless and be referred there by case worker or , 211 ls county services on your phone dial 211, it's sad to say but there's so much homeless families out there that there's a 3/6 month wait at almost every shelter for homeless famolies, the federal money giving to the cities for this purpose of helping the homeless has left us and many others in limbo just waiting for help and then you are told to find a place in Los Angeles that is affordable good luck 9 of 10 families that's impossible the $$$ for places in LA county are so high that people remain families that is stay homeless. I know that I and my family have never been so upset at the way things are getting so I keep hope and look for any kind of work that will help me keep a roof over my family's Head.

Ive been calling up here for at least a month straight. No one has been answering my calls. I am now on the streets with my son. no help what so ever. And because I went through them no other family promise place will help me out.

It's like dorm living. Not too bad, everyone is very helpful. You've got the odd mentally unstable person but for the most part everyone is great. Clean, 3 meals a day.

This is my home I'm blessed to be here..... Staff is awesome..... It's actually clean and good is great

Some of the staff are rude and the people going or in the program have attitudes but other than that the staff at the screening process is wonderful her name is rye and she really cares and helps her clients

Excellent facilities. They help people of all types with housing needs, food and other things. The facilities are clean and well run. I signed up to volunteer and had my first day today. I helped out in the kitchen and loved it. Everyone is so friendly and helpful and everyone you see speaks to you. I'm glad I found this place to volunteer.

They only help once your homeless. And tried offering me a gift card so I could stay were I m at right now. If I could stay where I m living right now why would I be seeking help to find a place?

Very nice staff they treat you with respect and are genuinely concerned about your wellbeing.

It's for homeless ppl ran by ex homeless ppl. But if your life is boring or you want some drama in life, this is the place. But then again, they do house homeless ppl so if you're homeless, then I guess go ask for help here. They're really working with limited resources so patience is gonna be your best friend. But really, expect a lotta drama if this place is your only option.

Love this place. I am so truly grateful for la family housing but especially to STEPHANIE STRICKLAND who works there. She worked very hard to help me get housed and she did it very well. STEPHANIE GOT ME CONNECTED WITH AN AGENCY THAT GAVE ME PERMANENT HOUSING AND I'M SO HAPPY AND AMAZED. THE ONLY I CAN SAY IS THANK YOU STEPHANIE STRICKLAND

That said unfortunately I wish I could say that it has been smooth sailing, But nope it has not been but I have trust and faith that my story will have with out a doubt have a happy successful ending, (that I pray comes soon)

They have helped me a lot. I was homeless and in a bad situation... they took me in now im making plans for my future.

They are kind and considerate. I just wish they had more help available for homeless mother's.

Been calling everyday for over 6 weeks. No answer, no return call. Parents of two disabled children. This is unfortunate for my family. To say the least.

It is a blessing to have a place like this in the city. Hard working people really helping families find and keep homes.

Topical government facility all the employees doing nothing when there are people who need help but they rather walk around and do nothing

Amazingly horrible yet amazingly good. ONLY place to start the long process of any housing/ rental assistance. Women are 6 to a room,with one Bathroom attached. Food is so-so,and Staff are complete jerks about food in the rooms or TINY Lock|r that holds little more than a change of clothes and toiletry stuff. Bring ear plugs, to quelch the voices you hear coming from the hallway- lmuch like an Insane Asylum.the Gals here are older,white . We are CLIENTS, NOT Criminals,and Staff seems to NOT get that straight! " Emergency transitional Bridge Housing", but really just a homeless shelter.
UPDATE- this is the exclusive Agency for HOMELESS INDIVIDUALS IN THE SAN FERNANDO VALLEY! AND BACKSLIDING ON HELPING INDIVIDUAL ADULTS! ( Maybe it's that 5 MILLION DOLLAR GRANT received last September from the CEO @Amazon? The Grant , however is to be used for FAMILIES. NADA FIR HOMELESS ADULT INDIVIDUALS! Sometimes,A Tent will be provided....WHAT? YES , THAT'S CORRECT- A TENT! Your Odds of winning the lottery are more likely than getting I to "Bridge" Housing.( The Shelter)and it's like County Jail with no Doors. I know, I was a reluctant Client there.Unless you are a Family with minor Children,Don't expect to be helped anytime soon !

This shelter accept pets it's a good place to get in from the streets and I'm in Rapid rehousing that they're helping me with and I'm in my own home now.

Bad communication. Not honest people. Not good people working in the office.

LA Family Housing has gone through some major changes, not only have they removed the single side, but they housed damn near all the families that were on the family side. Im not sure how long ago in was implemented but the services they now provide for low income and homeless participants is more than adequate. To our surprise, the program, is now setup to help us with the first four months and a the down payment.

Ryeisha is helping us with housing. My granddaughter was with me and the staff was so nice to her, she loved it there. They even have her a few books and snacks..... great staff!!!

I have been here in LA Family Housing (Bridge Housing) over 2 months. Kelsey Madligan director of Interim Housing isn t forcing the rules of bring too much stuff in the shelter. Kelsey hides in her office aka closet. They have bed bugs, roaches, mice s, mold, and plumbing problems. LA Family Housing isn t living up to there part of keeping the place clean in each room. Please do not buy this building until they fix plumbing problems and roaches problems on the inside of building. If you email the CEO about what s going on in LA Family Housing, she doesn t responding to you because she is too busy or you not important to her. Please do not email the CEO because she wouldn t respond to you. If you a buyer then she would respond to you because she trying to sell the building. This building isn t worth anybody money because the condition is bad until they fix problems on the inside of building. Update: CEO is a power hungry authoritarian. Chief Programs Officer doesn't follow LAHSA guidance and makes questionable decisions. Lots of ethical concerns. LAFH takes funders money and does what they want with the money and creates positions out of no where. The departmental structures are awful as well. Departments are not program based but task-based. Ineffective communication across departments that are VERY dependent (too dependent) on each other to house participants. Participants constantly fall through the cracks. Monthly all staff meetings are useless at best, degrading/humiliating at worst. LAFH has a conservative culture compared to other homeless services agencies, probably due to it being in the Valley. Update: LA Family Housing are during construction in female wing, but they put us in the community room and computer room with the cameras. The cameras are illegal in the community room and computer room where the ladies sleep at in those rooms. The construction will take place September 23, 2019. They said that it will take about three weeks or more to finish the female wing. Kelsey Madligan, Interim housing director and Sherika McGee, Interim housing manager are going on vacation next week, but Kelsey Madligan cancel the mobile shower truck because it cost them too much money. I think that Kelsey Madligan and Sherika McGee try to keep the money from themselves to go on their vacations. Sherika McGee, and Brandon the security guard are in a relationship during company hours. My friend stayed there. They not following housing guidelines. 4 2 a room is max and they house 6 per room 1 washer 1 dryer 4 many units . they do feed u. If needed its a place 2 stay. If u qualify 4 services.

They are so unfair I tried to help someone there they fired Me and didn't pay Me...

Been calling nonstop for 5 weeks and have never received a call back. I'm desperate and need help badly, so I can't say anything good about a place that doesn't even return your call. Some days I can't even leave a message because the mailbox is full. It's a sad situation..... Update..once i finally met with someone from LAFH they were extremely helpful and caring. They helped me get into a place so i can get back on my feet. I only have one complaint; they take a very long time to get back to you initially however, once you're assigned a housing navigator, they are on the ball with help. Unfortunately, with the increase of homeless people, they are slow to get to everyone, but they do their best under the circumstances. The people who work there are friendly and helpful.
