After five years, I am leaving Kurt for poor communication, no professionalism, and poor customer service starting from owner Beckie. You will find good coaches but they do have turnover. Good luck with calling the gym and getting someone to pick up the phone.
We have been at Kurt Thomas for over three years now. I have two girls on team (the youngest started in rec classes) and the skills they are learning far exceed just gymnastics. The gymnastics coaching is top notch, focusing on form and attention to detail and not just being able to throw a skill, but additionally these girls have mentors in their coaches and learn how to be on a team and a good teammate.
The gym is incredibly family friendly and oriented and after having been to other gyms we are proud to call this our gym home.
If you are moving to Frisco, you have many choices in gymnastics in the area, but for my family this was the only choice.
My daughters have been at this gym for almost three years, and they absolutely love it!! The coaches are phenomenal. They focus on details, and they are extremely supportive of each athlete and their individual path. Whenever my husband or I drop the girls off for practice, we are confident that our girls are training in the safest environment impossible. What a relief! We love Kurt Thomas Gymnastics, and we d give them 6 stars if we could!
Our daughter has been at KT for nearly 4 years. She has loved all the coaching staff. They focus on proper technique but always with an eye on safety!
Fantastic Gym!!! We have been at Kurt Thomas Gymnastics for almost 5 years now. Our daughter started in the Rec program and then transitioned to the competitive USAG program. I really can t say enough good things about this gym!
The front desk team is amazing! They are always available to help regardless of what I need! The coaches are hands down the best! I am truly thankful that they encourage and lift up our gymnast and her teammates through great coaching. They are tough, but still sweet. It keeps the sport fun and our girl motivated to do her best and keep growing as a gymnast! My daughter is confident and has become a true leader, and I believe gymnastics has something to do with that. Her coaches are mentors and their positive influence on her has been so great!
We also started our son in a Rec Class and his coach was also our daughter s first coach from almost 5 years ago! I love that!!!
I also love that if I have questions, I can email the gym and get a response quickly. Beckie, the owner of the gym, has always been so helpful when I ve had questions or didn t understand something. It s obvious to me that Beckie and her team of coaches have the gymnast s best interest at heart. It s their top priority and I appreciate that so much.
I am truly thankful for Kurt Thomas Gymnastics. Kurt and Beckie Thomas have created an amazing gym with a positive, loving, and family atmosphere. It s the place to be if you are looking for a gymnastics gym home.
Our daughter has been coached at Kurt Thomas gymnastics for the past 4 years and is now a level 9 gymnast. Every detail regarding her safety, the coaching she receives, the equipment she uses and the communication with us as her parents is completed with excellence. The practices are precisely organized for maximum progress during which the girls are encouraged to reach their potential but at the same time forming appropriate yet caring relationships with their coaches. At meets, everything regarding time schedules, assignment of coaching staff, the girls safety and the presentation of the Kurt Thomas team members is incredibly organized, allowing the gymnasts to compete with confidence and the parents to know every detail has been taken care of. I am confident that our daughter s progression as a gymnast now and her pursuit of a future collegiate gymnastic scholarship is and will be fully pursued by Kurt Thomas Gymnastics staff. I can t imagine our life without our Kurt Thomas family of coaches, gymnasts and parents. I highly recommend Kurt Thomas Gymnastics!
Great gym with great coaches. Their attention to the athlete is the best we've seen. Great facility, but wish they had cameras to watch practice. Very small space to watch and impossible to social distance as a parent
Hands down the best gym in the area. Top notch staff with little to no turnover, which is awesome for consistency for the children. The staff is like a family and every single person goes out of their way to make the customer feel a part of that family.
My daughter has attended this facility since the age of 2. Attending Kurt Thomas gymnastics has boosted her self confidence, gained discipline and she s made so many good friends in this sport. She absolutely loves her coach Mary. The coaches and staff are absolutely the best to the athletes. I wouldn t want her to train anywhere else.
Kurt Thomas Gymnastics is a great gym. We recently moved from out of state & quickly found KT to be a great fit for our 2 girls. The office staff are warm & have great communication in getting your gymnast evaluation and info. One of my girls joined the optionals team and has found it challenging, yet exciting to gain new skills and compete strong this season. While my other daughter decided the TAAF program was a good fit for her. With less hours vs USAG, but still competing which had her growing in her gymnastics skills. Lots of options with Rec, TAAF, & USAG. Also, KT does a fantastic job with having specialized event coaches and coaches available for instruction/correction on skills and routines. KT encourages gymnasts to their fullest potential & it shows with all the smiles on these girls! Lot of life skills being shared here in this gym on top of the fact they create amazing athletes! Overall, we are thrilled we found a great place to make friends & gain skills!
