Kurrawa Surf Club Review

This has the best view of any restaurant on the Gold Coast. Not necessarily the best meals but pretty good and it is a surf club so it provides value for money meals. pity when they rebuilt the place a few years back they made it just a big noisy room. They didn't make it so that it wasn't so noisy when it gets full. Pre-covid we end up shouting over dinner. But when they rollback the doors and the Pacific Ocean is right there you can't fault anything anymore. It's just an amazing place.

Good food, reasonable price, great ocean views. Bar service was a bit slow but it was a pretty busy lunch period.

Visiting Surf Life Saving Clubs helps to raise funds for the clubs to do their work on Australia s beaches so it always feels like a good thing to do whilst taking a holiday. This club is really big and in a prominent building and has great views over Broadbeach. Food is nice and fairly inexpensive. Easy to sign in as a guest and no entry fee. Just a quick scan of your drivers license or passport (if you are from overseas) and the you can settle in and enjoy drinks, food and the view!

Super busy this weekend but still not too bad with the length of service for the food. And it was great food. The lady serving at the bar was amazing.

Great place ,close to beach,good cheap food if you like

Went out for my birthday. I wanted charcoal steak. I had pasty piece of tasteless meat. It was in no way cooked with charcoal. One steak was very undercooked. The best thing was the jus. Veggies bit on the raw side and plate was cold. Ameuteurs but high prices. Help yourself to cutlery, no table service, which is fine but please cook my meal to a high standard.

Really average food. Staff are really friendly, though I hope things improve when the new club next door opens, will revisit then.

All around The surf club is under construction (including the beach). The menu was way overpriced and staff were not very welcoming.

Had a big group of 30 come through really enjoyed the atmosphere and food. Will be back again!

Busy!! Really busy. Food is good for the price but hey it's a surf club pub food pretty much. Lamb shanks is awesome though.

My order (Coco Loco smoothie) came out at average time but understandable because a lot of people were ordering and seemed busy. Was a bit disappointed at my smoothie which was not filled to the top, almost like someone had already had a good sip from it before hand and considering I paid around $8-9 for it.. a bit sad. The flavour was really good though and staff were friendly which is why I give it 4/5.

Great meals and specials deals. The perfect place for breakfast on the beach watching the sunrise. Highly recommend this place for breakfast.

Nice establishment, good food selections and priced reasonable. Overall I really liked it, and the location is top notch.

The biggest portion sized meals in Broadbeach. Definately get the bacon, cheese & garlic bread!

Horrible experience! The receptionist at the front counter (Kimberley) was so rude to us about the dress code, I was wearing a T-Shirt as my arm is in a cast and I can't wear a button up and I was turned away at the door, very impolitely as well, there should be better customer service and just general politeness to patrons . I will not be coming back.

Very friendly staff. Fish and chips was a extremly average meal. Prawns and burgers was yummy.

Great facilities and cause with a view overlooking the beach. We only came for a couple of drinks and there were a great selection of beers on tap with prices to match. Unfortunately the service was lacking at the bar. They were prompt and friendly enough but only to those that looked like regulars I.e. old men. I had 4 jump ahead of me in the queue. When I finally got an opportunity to say that I was next I was I was shot down by the barmaid who said, yep you guessed it, that a bald old man was next. Very annoying and it wasn't even busy at the time.

My friend and I stopped at Kurrawa Club for a snack and a couple of drinks and before to get there I checked their menu which shows members and non-members prices. Reading that I assumed that you don t need to become a member to go to the snack bar. When I got there that receptionist asked for a document with an address and because my friend did not have one we just could get in unless I signed up for a membership. Seriously, I think this should be mentioned on their website once they make so hard to non-members to go. I just headed to another surf club and I think they should be clearer about their rules.

HQ photo booths did a photo booth for a 21st and was pleasantly surprised how new and modern this place is. The function room is secluded and away from the public which adds a nice touch. Even better is the view you get from the top function room.

Meals came out wrong order to start ...then was asked to pay extra but had payed correct $ ...steak was cold .salmon dry ..got refunded the extra I payed with a foul attitude. ..it was there last night of trading so gathered it was there old stock ..And to top it off the table next to had there orders stuffed aswell....On holiday traveled over 2000kms .....very poor business for high prices

A grand new Surf Club with a very popular bar and dining area upstairs with great ocean views - friendly staff and the usual food and drinks you expect - a pleasant atmosphere for a long lunch with friends

I thought this place was pretty ugly. Stands out like a sore thumb in a nice park. Excellent location on Broadbeach. Food good but nothing exceptional. Great view over ocean. Extremely busy on weekends. Overall a bit overrated.

Nice view. Nice food. Reasonable serving size. Sweet potato fries were great and a big serve.

Food was acceptable but would prefer it had ot been good or great.

Easy entry for non-members, food is fresh and tasty and was served quickly

Ordered calamari with some chips for $21.
We got a plate with 6 small pieces of calamari and a few chips, impressive!

So we asked the 'supervisor' if this is normal, because value for money is pretty shocking. After 10 minutes he comes back with a small bowl with 4 pieces of calamari.. explaining that a serve of calamari is maximum 8 pieces.

Knowing a bit more about the restaurant industry, 1 piece is approximately 10 cents.... Pretty funny customer service

Great service, very friendly staff, spectacular view even with the clouds and rain, the chicken with creamy mushroom sauce, delicious and the baked carrots were perfect

Enjoyed the buffet breakfast overlooking the beach. Pretty good value for money. Not a wide selection of food, but it was hot and fresh.

Service was disappointing with no eye contact. It seemed as though the person was extremely distracted and had to ask me the same question several times. No prices for cakes and slices. Heaps of seating area well out. The coffee was terrific though and the slice delicious. Bummed they didn t have a cardboard carry tray to take five cups away with.

Renovations make it a great place to go for a good meal

Happy to give 2 stars. One for the lovely and courteous staff. The other for the spectacular setting. I can't however bring myself to give any stars for the food. My recommendation for anyone that knows a thing or two about food - come here for a pre-dinner drink and enjoy the lovely view. Don't waste your money (albeit not too expensive) on the pre-packaged/frozen-type quality which could easily be mistaken for a supermarket frozen meal IMO.

Was impressed with total outlook.Was recently at Marriot which was a disaster.Food and service was inferior to that served up today at Kurrawa. .

Fabulous club on the waterfront. Friendly staff, good food, family friendly.

The buffet breakfast on Sunday was the worst buffet I have ever experienced. The food was pitiful and minimal. Eggs looked old and dry, yoghurt wasn t cold and the instant plunger coffee on offer was horrendous. Absolute waste of your money, go elsewhere. Appalled that this club offers such a horrible service.

Pricey, not nice food, staff not fantastic. I expected more really.

Good pub style food. New venue being built as we speak. Membership is $12 for a year and this gives good value meals and drinks. Recommend it.

I enjoyed a great healthy lunch as always .. delicious with a beautiful view...
