KRESTON INTERNATIONAL (CYPRUS) FOUNDER NIKOS PROIOS: THE MISOGYNIST WHO CONDEMNED THE DEVELOPMENT OF SEVERAL COMPANIES WITH A FUTURE, DRIVEN BY HIS BIASED OPINIONS
I know a family where the daughter has been running successfully her own business for several years. Apart from her business skills, she studied the subject of her father's company, with top academic performance. When she was about to take charge of the company, the ''educated'' Mr Proios advised the father to exclude the daughter from the company and hand it over to his son, as according to him ''women are not capable of running business'' because ''they would be controlled by their husbands regarding their decisions''. I must say that in this family, what happens is the exact opposite of Mr Proios' claims; the son totally lacks initiative, imagination, creativity and any skill related to business management. Didn't study anything, as his interests have nothing to do with the academic or business field. Truth be told, he is a coward man, not on the smart side, constantly manipulated by his golddiger wife, even for the most insignificant decisions.
Despite the reality, the father trusted the business to his son. Needles to say it eventually closed down.
Given the aftermath of his decision to have the son take charge of the company, the father expressed his deep regret to his daughter. He wished he could turn the clock back, but it was too late: the company was destined to be managed by...the son(!)
It's worth mentioning I met 2 more cases exactly like this, skilled women with qualifications rejected by their fathers for the sake of their inadequate brothers, a decision again advised by Mr Nikos Proios.
I 'd like to hear some opinions on how an educated person in the 20th/21st century can be led by such bigoted ideas, and even be in position to assert himself over men who knew what their daughters were capable of doing better than anyone else. Whatever one may say, ''regret'' is not enough to undo the damage.
What would the company have to say about this?
Mr Nikos Proios, as far as I remember, you were the one who encouraged the creation of this man's company. How is it possible to then craft its demolition by giving such advice? You obviously knew what would be best to do for the success of the company, given your experience, expertise and personal success. Is there a reason why you would want your clients' business to fail?
If you can't foresee that your advice will lead to the destruction of your client's company, that results in us doubting your intelligence. If you know where your advice will take someone's company and keep giving it anyway, that would lead to doubts on your morals. Which one of the two is true about you, Mr Proios?
