Nice hotel, not a resort. Located on a beautiful beach, where you can buy delicious fruit plates from the fruit drawers. And nice fresh juice from the juicemen. The hotel is informal, with African ornaments. A nice swimming pool for those who don't like sand and beach. Sunbeds by the pool and on the beach. Good food in the Barracuda bar or the large restaurant. Full breakfast. Please note that this is a poor country and the 4 stars of the hotel are by African standards. It is sometimes a bit of a help, but we have been coming here for years with great pleasure.

A great hotel, at a high level. Good service. The rooms rather clean. Every day cleaned. Board very good. Everyone will find something for himself. Very nice beach. The protection ensures that local traders do not impose themselves on sunbathers.

The hotel was built in 1984, which is very obvious since it has not been renovated ever since.
The hotel room is very basic. The bed was good. The bathroom has a combined shower and bath. The glue is nasty. There were some small ant like insects at the sink every day.
You have to pay separately for the air-conditioning, a 83 euros per week. With temperatures of 40 degrees outside you ll need it. You also have to pay separately for the safety box/locker, which only can be paid with Dalassi. Let me stress that you ll take it, we forgot to put the wallet from our bag in the safety box just one time and money went missing.
There was a hole in our window, which had been repaired with a piece of newspaper. Not making it easy for the air-conditioning to cool the room. Especially, since it was not working properly. We asked the hotel to fix it. Unfortunately, it did not get that much better that week.
The pool is ok, not that big. You get a free towel to lay at the pool. Laying on the beach was not an option for us. There are guards working on the beach, I assume to guarantee a peaceful stay. Unfortunately, it is very obvious they are being bribed by different vendors. People are continuously, on a daily basis, coming over to you to sell something over and over again. Even when you are walking to the see for a swim. We found this very annoying.
The food at the hotel is very expensive compared to the shops/restaurants in Kotu/Kololi. The staff is very selective who they are being friendly to. Although we were very polite we appeared to be not on their liking list, so we were treated with a lot of disinterest/ even almost rudeness.
It is possible to open an account, which you can pay with a credit card at the end or your stay. When we wanted to pay our bill, they had made a mistake with the air-conditioning costs. They charged 14 days, were we had only stayed at their hotel for 7 days. No excuses were made, and the man at the counter was not authorized to correct the bill. When we came back the next morning, we were asked to come back after 20 minutes because he was not finished with printing our bill.
Upon our return, the same man as the day before, made a handwritten re-calculation of the bill. He went into an office but when he returned we all of a sudden had to pay a different amount. Again, no excuses were made.

I wouldn t stay anywhere else! Been going for 5yrs + and my mother has used different hotel and she said she wouldn t put her enemy in it!
Staff make this hotel amazing there like an extended family and they will always remember you. Nothing is every too much.

ROOMS- there basic clean and lovely personally we just sleep and shower in our rooms so don t need tip top. Air con is in each room telly safe and fridge. The room service is 5* anything you need it s there the ladies and gents are super friendly.
ENTERTAINMENT- there is always something going on they have a fab entertainment crew. Learning to cook Gambian dishes, water polo, foot ball on the beach and much more! In the evening they have shows either a band or traditional Gambian drums and dancing you can always join in too!
FOOD- there is such a variety. Breakfast are AMAZING buffet style. There is a lunch time menu also and coffee and cake every day around 4 I think?
GROUNDS- there is a shop on site but failing that there is two shops a stones throw away from the hotel. They have an outdoor gym. Never used it as I m on holiday and couldn t think of anything worse! There s a spa, sports bar and a kids and adult pool.
BEACH- the beach is paradise and the sea is like bath water!

I can t rate this hotel enough. It s home away from home. Hope this review helps

Very friendly staff. Only experienced a staff strike on 2 November. The people were suppressed by the manager and they took to the streets for that. The people no longer had a smile on their faces either. Their requirement was the manager (s) out or we! And they won, so the manager left and the people back to work and they smile again and are very polite. We stood behind these people. Although we temporarily had no food or drink.
Hotel is okay, just a bit dated. But for Gambia

Deservedly excellent grade! The hotel is located right next to the beach and there is no "fight" for free sunbeds - it's beautiful! Lovely beach but more on that later.
A large hotel complex, but with five people, both meals and other attractions in its area.
Large rooms, a bit noisy air conditioners, but without them it is impossible to live normally! Room equipment sufficient.
Excellent cuisine in the form of a buffet - we had breakfasts and dinners.
Can't be absolutely fussy. Tasty meals and always something for everyone. Well, OK, there was no proverbial bread with lard and pickled cucumber for malcontents :)
Large swimming pool - better on the beach more secluded :)
Famous beach volleyball matches are already a tradition!
The beach itself - a wonder of sand, wide, long - a day you can easily do many, many kilometers just by walking! Water - Atlantic - quite cool but you can ... help. Plates of fresh fruit offered on the beach, or fresh juices squeezed from freshly peeled fruit ... in these conditions it is a paradise for the taste buds! We would love to go back there!
Thank you for your hospitality! See you soon again!

I came with a group of teenagers and we all loved it. Excellently laid out hotel, spacious and amazing Ocean front bedroom views.
Lovely food and facilities and night entertainment.
I gave them 4 stars instead of 5 because of the very poor WiFi. You pay for WiFi in your room but it's still poor value for money and the free WiFi is no better. Guests pay good money to stay at the hotel so there's no excuse nnit to invest in good WiFi as I know it does exist in Gambia even the school we visited in Gambia had faster WiFi than the hotel. I'll be back here again to give it one more chance to improve wifi.
