We arranged a 80th birthday celebration for my dad. The buffet was mediocre. When the guest's only comment on the vegetable and not anything else ... worst if all no fuss was made of my dad and the staff didn't even bother to wish him or offerspecial llittle candle. The manager was not attentive and we were so disappointed

Excellent accomodation! The place is a bit pricey, but totally worth it. Would definitely recommend. Make sure you try out their restaurant as well, cause their food is sublime! Rooms were very clean and they have a fantastic view of the mountainside. Would definitely come back for another visit.

Very beautiful place and a good view over the mountains. Security was non existent, which made me uneasy. Restaurant is average with quite pretentious waitrons. The food we had was mediocre. This place has too much pomp for little substance. Espresso was the best ever. I did not stay overnight. It was funny to observe a big group of Russians (ladies were wearing unbelievable amount of rhinestones on their clothing), they were loud and very funny.....one lady was singing along with a piano lady, and she was hitting pretty high notes......

Be very careful, when arriving. My Nigerian friends where followed onto the property and held up in the car park. They had arrived directly from ORT, and every single thing they had, besides the clothes they were standing up in, was taken at gun point. This was 07h15 in the morning.

We had an amazing breakfast buffet here today. We booked last minute and were treated well from the start. The staff are so friendly and professional. The lodge has a beautiful restaurant with a gorgeous view of mountains and dams, and the food was wonderful. Value for money, and a lovely spread of cold and hot food. A lovely treat! Best danish pastries I've had in ages! You can also take a long walk through the grounds, beautiful.

Horrible service and standards have completely deteriorated. We arrived early at 3pm for treatments to start at 4pm. We were told to get changed and ready at 3:30pm only to be waiting while other white people who arrived at 3:45pm got thier treatments before us. Its now 16:35 with no communication from the staff. Shocking service from Valerie & her team. After being a frequent visitor I no longer recommend Kloofzicht Spa as the service standards have dropped. Disappointed especially on my birthday. Corne please check the footage on your cameras to support my grievances.

This is the 3rd time that we have visited the Kloofzicht Lodge & Spa each time the lodge seems to get better and better.

Nestled at the foothills of the Zwartkops Mountains in the Cradle of Humankind, Kloofzicht Lodge & Spa is a comfortable forty minute drive from both Sandton and Pretoria.

Kloofzicht Lodge comprises of sixty suites and overlooks six exquisite fly-fishing dams and the lower reaches of the Blaauwbank Spruit, as it meanders through the unspoilt Zwartkops gorge. Five-star hospitality and service are the benchmark of Kloofzicht Lodge & Spa.
The lodge accommodates up to 120 conference delegates within five conference venues and two smaller meeting rooms. Spa conference packages are popular while fly fishing packages are available as an interesting team building alternative.

Weddings of up to 120 guests are accommodated in the open-air chapel and banquet venues. At Kloofzicht Lodge we employ our wealth of experience, matched with personal service to ensure the success of your wedding day.

The small but magnificent nature reserve upon which Kloofzicht is built, is home to kudu, impala, blue wildebeest, eland, red hartebeest, springbuck, gemsbok, zebra as well as a fascinating array of bird life.

I would like to highly recommend the Kloofzicht Lodge & Spa to everyone looking for a breakaway in the BUSH just outside Johannesburg. It is close to the cradle of humankind and the lion park.

Want to getaway from the hassle and fast day to day life in JHB but don't want to jump on a plane or travel far then Kloofzicht is the place for you. It is surrounded by beautiful scenery which really provides a relaxing atmosphere where you can kick your feet up and relax. The rooms are spacious and include heated towels the food is okay not amazing. Also they have a SPA if you need extra TLC.

What a treat. Definitely top notch! An absolute sanctuary.
We went there to escape a few days before our wedding and were treated like King and Qeeun.
Thank you Kloofzight for an amazing experience.

An absolute gem. Wonderful service, beautiful suites, topped by elegant dining at the restaurant.

Great trout fly fishing at the main lake, and opportunity for bass and carp at the lower lakes.

A wonderful feeling of being out in countryside, yet less than an hour from almost anywhere in Joburg.

We were at Kloofzicht 16/11/2014.We had booked for tea at 2.30.We arrived at 2.00 and was told by the security guard to come back at 2.30.We had to drive around aimlessly till 2.30. No service.A waiter did come 15 minutes later, said he will come back and never did. A hour after we waited,we had to ask for our order to be taken. The lady said she could only do the drinks order. We had to wait yet another hour for food to be served. We were seated next to a family of chain smokers and had to ask to change our seats. Food and service was DEFINITELY,DEFINITELY NOT 5 star.(We had international guests with us. This was dispicable and disgraceful

It's absolutely beautiful for accommodation and the spa. Only reason I'm giving it a three star is because the wedding venue is very underwhelming. It's got so much potential to be an incredible wedding venue but the roof of the outside ceremony area is covered in cobwebs and the chairs are cheap looking plastic chairs with material covers. The reception area is not much better even though it could have an insanely beautiful view it's all closed in and stuffy. It's not very modern either which somehow doesn't fit with how gorgeous the rest of the place is. I think a wedding venue revamp is in order. It could be one of the best. The price it offers now for weddings is not worth what is on offer however if it was revamped it would be totally worth it.

We have TRIED to visit Kloofzicht on three occasions and each time, when we arrive at the gate, we are told they are full by a very rude guard. The last time we were told that you had to make a reservation, although they have a huge board outside advertising the new bistro, saying it's open but no mention of "By appointment only". The guards at the gate are extremely rude and unfriendly. We had wanted to make inquiries for overseas guests, but could not get past the gate. So, another venue will be used for overseas visitors. As we were being told that the restaurant was full, five cars left and no other cars came in. This then does not make sense. Kloofzicht will not be visited by us again and all potential visitors that we meet will be told of the rude and unfriendly reception that you receive at the gate.

Good; we stayed here recently for a weekend away in a Superior Suite. (We hadn't realised) the thermostat wasn't working when we arrived and it was in winter. After dinner we called and requested more blankets and had an early night, and I woke up at 3am shivering. I have never slept in a room so cold in my life. The next morning I took it up with management ready to cut our trip short and check out. They offered us a Deluxe Suite, and gave us a little surprise to make up for it. Credit to the manager who checked on us consistently to make sure we were alright. Overall the food was great, even though the dessert's could have been better. I'm sure we would have enjoyed it a bit more had it not been for the freezing first night.

Worst experience thus far! I have now tried two days in a row to book the restaurant - yesterday the ONLY lady that can make a booking had already left at 16h00 and today the ONLY lady that can make a booking is in a meeting. May I suggest you perhaps have more than ONE person designated to make a simple booking at restaurant? If it is going to take me three calls to book I think I should book somewhere else!

Happy until I stared making comparisons to previous lodge/spa holidays.

The spa staff was fantastic. They knew who I was and were very quick to make me feel welcome. The treatments were fantastic and the facilities were clean. The change rooms could use some maintenance and I would have appreciated receiving a robe more suited to my size and stature.

My welcome at the hotel was pleasant. Although no attention was paid to the Covid-19 forms upon arrival which was concerning. My room was not ready which frustrated me as what is the point of providing a check-in time if you are not going to be ready.

The room was nice although half heartedly cleaned which was disappointing especially during these times. The bath was amazing, the shower was pathetic with the water spraying in 20 different directions. The aircon sounded like a tractor but I had no choice as the fireplace refused to ignite correctly and it was chilly.

The restaurants were a complete let down. My first lunch required 20 minutes for someone to acknowledge my existence followed by a further 15 minutes of me waiting for my cocktail. Sadly it was not worth the wait and probably one of the worst cocktails I have had in a while. The most attention the staff paid me was when I left and they came running after me to pay the bill.

Sadly the poor restaurant experience continued at dinner where yet again I felt awkward being asked if I wanted a table for two. Despite my booking being for myself as a single independent man. I ordered another cocktail but this one had enough booze for three people. Although the food was fantastic the ambience was a let down with no music, and an overly loud group of guests which were quite clearly disturbing the rest. I honestly couldn't wait to eat my food and leave.

Another disappointing issue was the fact that although my package included the spa, accommodation and all meals - I was constantly presented with a bill which I had to politely explain away as I am not paying twice.

For the price I paid for this potentially beautiful and blissful experience I was very much disappointed. I was constantly thinking to myself - I should've just gone to the Indaba Hotel and Mowana Spa. Silly me for trying something new...

First night into a 16th birthday party. Booked the Royal Suite. What a super amazing experience from the word go. Super friendly staff, jacuzzi, swimming pool, chef to braai, giraffe at your doorstep ... loved it. Cecelia is your contact person for personal touch and detail.

It's set up to be a 5-star but I give it 3-star at best. The serenity/ambience/scenery/rooms, are all 10-star but a few things I didn't find acceptable..... The 5-star rating refers to the physical set-up of the place and nothing on service delivery...

1) No internet in the rooms. In today's world wi-fi is a must. I come from a 4th world country and there's free wi-fi available in virtually every hotel you move to. I expected better from a 5-star. Internet is only available in the lounge area.

2. Security appears lapse. In a highly insecure country like South Africa, you expect some king of "presence" of security personnel. I was there for one week but didn't see a single security personnel.

3. Yes there's DSTV but i wonder how they cannot have CNN or BBC on their menu....in addition to the fact that there's no internet in the rooms. In other words, the rooms are simply a resting place.....good as they are.

Other than that, everything else was just average.

Beautiful, scenic lodge - we were there for the weekend and took long walks and plenty pictures. Wife really enjoyed the spa. The staff was warm and friendly from security, reception, restaurant and the spa. We got a nice big room facing one of the fly fishing lakes, which meant the room does get really cold in winter.
