Easy and fast check-in. Secure underground parking (a bit small for our car, but it worked). Great that dogs are allowed. Very friendly staff in all areas. Having a nice balcony doesn't mean a nice view. Central location in Vevey, just a few minutes on foot to the lake.
Great and spacious family room, very nice breakfast and dining room. Amazing breakfast.
The Astra hotel is very centrally and ideally located just opposite the Vevey train station. Ideal to discover the city as well as the Montreux Riviera. The modern and bright look of the lobby-area, the in- and outside bar make you feel welcome very quickly. The lounge bar and the spa-area on the fifth floor are also most remarkable.
The room we stayed in was very clean, big and well equiped and offered a Little Kittchen with a Nespresso-coffee machine. The staff at the lobby as well from the bar and the breakfast room was very friendly and most helpfull.
We can highly recommend this hotel and will certainly be back.
My (new) favourite hotel in Switzerland!
In July 2020, the hotel had some cracking "2 nights for the price of 1" offers... plus a free 100 CHF Vaud card, plus a free Riveria card, plus 20% off by paying with WelQome vouchers. Put it all together, and I thought, "it can't be THAT good..." It bloody is.
A perfect central location, right next to the train station (but we didn't hear any trains from our room), with a Coop 2 minutes away, and large shopping centre across the road. The lake is a 3-4 minute walk away.
The rooms are large, modern and spacious. There's a cool rooftop bar (with really good music during Afterwork drinks), plus a hot tub area you can privately reserve for 1 hour. And our room had a small kitchen area with fridge and Nespresso. Even the bed was super comfortable, and the air conditioning was great in the room.
The staff are lovely. My thanks to Geraldine on reception, for all of her help and advice.
That, plus an amazing breakfast (salmon and fresh strawberries?! Wow!!).
This hotel just exceeded all of my expectations, and before checking out, I was already planning my next trip here, with my children, as the (free) Riveria card would let me take them to the boat and get entry to Aquaparc and all kinds of other cool places, for freeeeeeee.

The day I checked out, I decided to leave two hours later in order to eat
for a second time the very good "Filets de perche" in the restaurant "La Brasserie".
Moreover there is a good choice of wine !

Centrally located hotel right next to train station. The place is rated as 4star, but is a bit worn and in need of an update. Very friendly and helpful staff. Restaurant (make reservation) is on site, and there is a nice terrace and jacuzzi on top floor. Full warm and cold breakfast buffet. If you have a car make sure to make a reservation, despite what the staff may say on phone.
We stayed 3 nights as part of a group using the amazing Swiss trains. The room was well serviced and spotless. It was comfortable and large with good amenities. By day with the double glazed window open, the road was noisy. Shut the window and turn on the aircon!
The staff are attentive and responsive. They worked hard for us and yet had time to share a joke..

My girlfriend and I only used the bar. It was the day France won the world cup. I just want to say the bar staff are friendly, warm and incredibly professional and hospitable people. We stayed through the night on Sunday and were treated with kindness and warmth. I watched one person knock over a few bottles of wine and some glasses by mistake (he was not drunk, the bottles were just badly placed). The staff treated him kindly and with dignity and he didn't have to pay. Absolutely incredible service. We stayed in another hotel but would love to stay here in the future if the service is similar in other departments. Thank you to both the gentlemen barmen for being so professional and kind-hearted. Love from Finland!
