I love the Kirkwood Y. Such a friendly, welcoming environment--both staff and members. I also love the classes. Fun and effective. Great addition to our community.

Close to my home but I love the option to use any location for additional classes. Kirkwood has an indoor pool which is nice year round. I love the classes offered include Pilates, Zumba, spinning and weights. The instructors are great. I also have enjoyed the childcare facilities and really like summer camps for my children.

The staff at this Y is wonderful. There are many options for workout classes of all types or just doing your own thing. The only reason for the 4 stars, the building and equipment need updating. Other than that, you cannot go wrong coming to the Kirkwood Y.

Ulrikke, our trainer, is perfect, nice and expert. The only negative note about YMCA Organization is that during the summer we are relegated in a squalid, dark and small room down stare in which sometime we are so many that we have to pay attention not to hurt each other.

Always convenient for working out, swimming, yoga, weights, classes. The staff is very accommodating. People are always friendly and I enjoy the experience. It's nice when scheduling does not permit certain workouts at certain times to be able to go to neighboring Y's to workout.

The instructors were absolutely incredible, the equipment was new and easy to use, and the facility was impressive!

The Kirkwood Y is a friendly place to meet people and participate in a variety of classes throughout everyday.

Judy at the front desk was the worst. She huffed and puffed when we came in asking to have a tour. Seemed rude the whole time. I wouldn't get a membership here. Thank Judy.

I love this YMCA. The staff is always very friendly and pleasant. I am especially thankful for the weekday child watch staff. They are very attentive to the kiddos and make it possible for me to get a workout, or drink a coffee quietly in the lobby. The facilities are always clean too. I also like the group classes that are available, particularly yoga. Thank you Kirkwood YMCA!

I love this facility, I attend class with Shawn at 9:30 on Tuesdays and thursdays and she keeps it so fun! Switching the workouts up every class and we never know what to expect! The childcare is so awesome and caring, my kids love coming to the Y so that I can get some exercise and some mental space. It s a small facility and old compared to others in the area but it has everything I need and really enjoy attending here!

Front desk lady was extremely condescending the way she talked to me asking if I needed help with a scowl on her face. I don t think it s the main front desk lady. Saw her doing towels at some point. It was my first time at this location and looked around literally for like 3 seconds seeing where I should go. Otherwise the gym isn t bad. But wow!! What a horrible greeting to this place, Really was upsetting!!

I love the Y. Kirkwood Y has the latest equipment. I especially like the ArcTrainer. There is also other equipment just begging for me to try out. I even like the group classes. Aerobic Step and toning classes have really good instructors.

I like to be fit, but would rather socialize. I swore I d never join another gym because I never go. But the Kirkwood Family YMCA is different! All I have to do is show up! There are great classes happening all the time that fit my schedule. I don t have to make up my own workout routine or even know much about the class I m taking. The instructors (and gym members) are knowledgeable, kind and friendly. They answer my silly questions and show me what to do. So all I have to do is show up and ...voila! I get to socialize and stay fit. This totally works for me! I the Kirkwood Family YMCA!

I go to the kirkwood branch as it s close to home. It s not the largest branch but staff members are always friendly and helpful and the childcare is great (they know my kiddos by name) so I prefer this location over others even though other locations have more equipment. They also have group classes that always go on schedule, I love body pump and spinning! I ve had my membership 3-4 years and don t plan on ever changing it. The y is family friendly and I prefer it over chain gyms and believe me I tried them all!

Love the Kirkwood YMCA. The staff is so friendly. The place is always clean. They have skill instructors that help you learn the safety portion of working out so you don't get hurt. All in all. this YMCA will become your new family! Thanks!

regrettably, KwdY has put exercise machines 2 levels below ground level -an arduous task for lower limb impaired folks to access SINCE there is ONLY stairs, no elevator. On the other hand, the 'spinner' bikes for the most abled members is right there on the first floor. An unfortunate disregard for those of us with descending/climbing challenges.

They are making fun with customers. Selling over priced padlocks and staff is arrogant!!!!! Go somewhere else.

This branch is my absolute go-to in the St. Louis area! Tucked away near beautiful downtown Kirkwood, it boasts more amenities than one might think. The staff is energetic and helpful, and there s always been adequate parking each time I visit. Plus, the cost of my membership is so much lower than comparable providers, especially for-profit chains.

Staff is so friendly and the classes are diverse and extensive; it's nice that they have childcare offered as well. It's also very affordable for the services you receive. The pool provides much relief for activity in the fall and winter months as they often have 'open swim'. We use the summer camp(s) + the sports programs as well (when the kiddos were younger). We are giving the 'kids night out' which is once a month on Saturday evenings and is available to both members and non-members (as is the camp + sports programs). It is wonderful to have a YMCA in our community. Four stars because they are in need of some aesthetic updates (i.e. locker rooms, common/workout spaces, etc.).

I have been a member at different community Rec Centers as well as other YMCA s in the area but came back to Kirkwood and intend on staying. If you are looking for a clean facility with an array of programs Kirkwood Y is your place! It is small, but has everything you need. What makes it a stand out in my mind is the friendly family like atmosphere. You re not just another member here, in no time at all everybody knows your name

When I come to this location it feels like family. The staff know me and greet me excitedly and always ask how my boys and I are doing.

I visited this YMCA when I was in the St. Louis area. The gym-fitness area was quiet and ideal to work out in. The staff was very friendly.

I go the chair YOGA and love the class. It is fun and makes me feel good afterwards. Also the members of the class have become friends which is an added bonus!

Very helpful and friendly staff. I look forward to going there to work out often. They have many classes available at good times.

My daughter went to swim lessons here for almost 2 months.. about half of the time to water was so cold that she either wanted to get out or stayed as close to me as possible cause she was so cold and this is a kid that loves water!! So for us it was a waste of money and on top of that when I called to cancel they told me that because I m canceling after the 20th I still have to pay for the next month! I wish someone would ve told me that when I signed up and I would ve made sure to cancel at the right time.. now I m gonna pay $73 for nothing!!

I love the Kirkwood y both the classes and the strength machines and the staff is very friendly.

The staff really care. The child care is superb, and they always greet you when you come in and when you leave. It has a small town gym kind of feel!

Few things about this gym that were just AWFUL. Pulled up to take a class, there was no where to park. Took me 10 minutes to find a spot (I had 3 of my children with me). The daycare was very small with LOTS of kids. Lastly, the gym itself is so small and lacks equipment and space.

I've been a Y member for a long time, I think since my kids started taking swim lessons. Beyond all it has to offer, which is a lot, it's a nice community of people. Everyone is friendly. A lot of people have told me they really don't know anyone at the health clubs they go to and they are not friendly places. The KW Y is the opposite. It's an easy place to talk to people and make friends.

Great park with soooo much to offer! Pavilions, ball fields and tennis courts all newly renovated!

I am enjoying and benefitting from silver sneakers lead by Mary Beth. S tometimes i have used three machines in t amhe next room. I need and experiencing activities that are making a significant difference in strength, flexibility, endurance and balance. Fallowing the instructions is increasing my brain activity.

The Kirkwood YMCA is at 325 North Taylor Ave and West Adams. This is a different address from the Kirkwood Recreation Center which is at 111 North Geyer Road.

Super great staff had my baby go there for classes.

The Kirkwood Y provides a welcoming environment for people of all ages. They offer a variety of classes. There is not a lot of parking, so it's good to arrive early.

Awesome facilities! They offer an amazing range of classes (and it doesn't cost extra to join), friendly staff, and a great range of equipment to let you do whatever exercise works for you!

The Kirkwood Y has the tight community feel with longtime staff who know you by name. The facility is small but has everything you need: Pool, track, cardio, strength equipment, free weights, free classes and free childcare while you workout.

This is a great place to bring the family. There are many things to do for people of all ages. My kid attended camps here during the summer and loved it. They have different themed camps through the summer.

The Kirkwood YMCA is a place to get healthy and fit alongside the new friends you will make there!

The Kirkwood Y gets five stars from me because it s wonderful management and staff. The building shows it s age, however, and some of the equipment suffers from considerable wear and tear. This Y has many members and get lots of use, so more capital investment from the Greater St. Louis YMCA to modernize the facility seems warranted, especially given that the neighboring Webster Groves YMCA was closed a couple of years ago.

I have enjoyed the Kirkwood Y. People are friendly. Enjoy the class I go to. But they still have not found a replacement instructor for the Bodyworks class. And I wish they would make use of their website to announce when classes are cancelled. PS I have the mobile app and there was no announcement made.

Very friendly, pretty clean. Pool is often seems over chlorinated a bit. Easy in and out and works well for me.

Amazing place with a great staff. Full gym with all the essentials.Machines are well kept and workout vibe is nice.

Driving from Arizona I stopped here for a quick workout. All I gotta say is that everyone here is super nice! Especially the front desk employees.

My kids love the childcare workers and cry if we can't make it one morning. The locker rooms are clean and the front desk staff are friendly.
It would be very nice if they had a daycare!

We've belonged to the Kirkwood Y for the past few years and it's been great!

We regularly use the gym to play basketball. Our son learned to swim there with the lessons they offer, and he has attended some of their summer camp programs.

Last summer he really enjoyed a week at Camp Lakewood. The YMCA has a lot to offer and we have been very pleased with our membership.

Love the Kirkwood YMCA. There are always enough machines to go around and everyone is friendly.

I like the facility but I prefer to swim laps. Shutting the pool down for 15 minutes intermittently is very frustrating to lap swimmers who are trying to swim a set distance. Why not have some extra lifeguards on staff to make it possible for lifeguard to take a break?

Clean and the space is well used regarding the layout. Employees and people found at this gym are polite and welcoming.

I recently became a member of the Kirkwood YMCA and have enjoyed it very much. They are always friendly when I come in and the facility always seems clean. I would recommend it to anyone in the Kirkwood area

I ve been to several YMCA s and I can truly say that the Kirkwood YMCA is diverse, friendly, and just an overall great place to be. I absolutely love the family based environment at the Kirkwood Y. Whether you re staff or a member, everyone seems to greet you by your name and a friendly smile.

Working at the Kirkwood YMCA is truly like no place else. Everyone is here to help. We believe in the mission to serve ALL and focus on community. Everyday I enjoy being surrounded by amazing staff and members. It feels like home

I joined the Kirkwood/Webster facility several years ago for the excellent 7:00 AM classes at Kirkwood. I love this Y and have made wonderful friends here. Since Joy left in April the 7:00 AM classes on Tuesday and Thursday are truly missed and we hope something is reinstated soon as we really, really miss classes in this time slot of 7:00. Molly is doing a good job of filling in on Thursdays but it would be nice to have the continuity of having class both days. A positive aspect of not having teachers is plenty of parking available those days. Mickey Knutson

While the gym is on the older side, it is well maintained and feels very "homey." The patrons and staff are very friendly. Rarely does it feel crowded - I typically go before work.

This YMCA has been great for my family. My kids (ages 2, 5 and 7) love the childcare and the childcare workers are superb. My husband I enjoy the facility and the exercise classes are great for all levels. It s a nice community where anyone can feel comfortable and welcomed.

Good customer service, but the locker room and some of the equipment is getting pretty old.
