Wait staff was great. Nicely poured drinks. Large meal portions, but food was underwhelming.
Manager stopped by our table after dinner not to ask how our meal was, but to remind us that they re closing at 9:30p tonight.
Convenient location, but needs work. A poor representation of the typical quality Michiganders expect from Gilmore Collection restaurants.
First time back at the Kirby house in awhile. The pizza is very good and well constructed. The fries were amazing texture, just wish the rosemary flavor was more consistent in the fries but they were still very good. Service was good and very quick! The iced tea was super yummy and very smooth! The only drawback is it is very loud inside, so if you are looking for a quiet romantic dinner, probably not the place for you. Overall though a pleasant experience and we will be back for the pizza!
My wife and I were there this past Friday. We had great service, and food. They are one of the few restaurants that had ample people working. We will be back again soon!
I had a great experience here eating before going to the beach in the evening. I got the Walleye BLT sandwich and I loved it! The fries were also very good. I would highly recommend eating here when in Grand Haven.
I will never step foot into this place again. Nor will any of my family or friends after I tell them about the experience I had today. The older man who's most likely the manager. Needs to get a life. Absolutely pathetic. The bartender asked me why the price of my drink matters and put our food order was put in 20 minutes late. What a great way to represent Grand Haven. Stuck up pos people.
Outstanding restaurant we sat out on the porch and enjoyed the view of downtown Grand Haven Michigan with a nice breeze very clean inside helpful and friendly staff we just had drinks and enjoyed our time there. Many fruit drinks and there awesome.
We just had a delicious lunch at the Kirby House. Ben was very welcoming and gave us great recommendations for our lunch selections plus other recommendations on local hot spots. Thanks Ben
I feel like we got robbed. Our food was not anything special. The fries were good. The chicken tenders and chicken patty were really dry like they were over cooked. The kids pizza tasted like something from an elementary school cafeteria(my kid who loves pizza only ate one slice, which is abnormal for her). My nachos were made with corn chips from GFS(yuck, super processed plastic flavor and texture). All the toppings on the chips tasted good. The waiter was great! We did wait a good 20mins to get our check so we could leave, which was agitating since our three kids were getting restless. When there is a live band the other dinning music should be shut off...the music clashing was horrible. Our bill was $100 it was not worth it. We could have gone to Red Robbins and had better food and saved $50; next time we will.
We've been ordering carry out from The Kirby House every time we've visited Grand Haven during the pandemic. Its always great. When I picked up my order this past weekend I couldn't have received better customer service from everyone I interacted with. The host team, servers, and manager were all so welcoming and kind. I was sent off with a "Have a GREAT night!" by one of the host team members. Doesn't sound like much but it meant a lot to me. This sort of genuine care is what will keep us coming back to The Kirby House for years. Also the food slaps. Like for real. So good.
The best chicken stir fry I have ever enjoyed. The food came hot and fast. Peyton did a great job! Reasonably priced menu.
