It is a great place to go and the equipment and facilities are nice, however, I'm 13 and expirienexp in the wieght room, but I'm not allowed to use free wieghts. The provlpr with this is that I am a member at the Greene county YMCA and I'm allowed. I'm confused as to why the age limits are different and if anyone knows, please tell me

Nice gym and equipment, not crazy about parking situation and some of the crowds it draws being income based, my biggest complaint is the gym hours for what it cost me at full price I don t have much time to go when I can, very strange hours for the gym I m considering switching back to a 24hr gym. On the weekend I d be much happier if they opened before lunch and at least stayed open till 8, they use the pool hours to justify closing the workout portion of the Y.

I recently joined and realized I should have done so way before. As a mother of young children, it gives me a little "me" time to work our and even take a hot interrupted shower. My kids have fun in the childcare and we enjoy taking a day to go swimming each week. All the staff I have encountered have been friendly and there are all the various equipment and tools you need for any workout. It is definitely worth the cost of membership.

Worst membership services ever! All these people working at the y, but cannot get help with their "glitch" of charging my credit card (yes, I actually pay for services). The solution when you call, "Well, we had a glitch, you'll just have to come pay it manually." Come on Charlie, can we not do better than this??

Kingsport has had three YMCA locations in the past few years, with each one better than the last. The newest one, in the same building as the Kingsport Aquatic Center, is a state-of-the-art facility that houses the majority of the equipment from the previous Y on Eastman Road, as well as about 200% more brand new equipment. From 2013 series Precor free-weight machines to newer AMTs (adaptive motion trainers, the successor to ellipticals) the new Y is sure to please...

Child watch hours need to match YMCA hours. Why even go here if not for child watch when you can join a gym for $10 a month and have 3X the equipment!
YMCA hours need to be extended, on weekends especially.
All workout equipment needs to be doubled in quantity, other gyms have at least duplicate equipment while the YMCA only has one of each on many.

My family has had a membership here for quite a while and we absolutely love it! It's perfect for having fun as a family and for parents to be able to work out or do whatever while the kids are in the kid rooms playing. The pools are awesome, the facility is always clean. The daycare staff is great and there's plenty of toys to keep your little ones happy. I love all the exercise classes they offer... I just can't say enough! Plus they offer a sliding scale for families who are less fortunate, so everyone can afford a membership!

Not much room in the weightlifting area, always super crowded. STAFF SUCKS. I have been going here for almost 3 years and never once have any of the kids that they staff upstairs ever greeted me or asked how I was doing. I dont expect the red carpet to be rolled out, but exchanging some pleasantries when Ive literally spent hundreds of dollars to use your facility would be nice. It feels like youre not wanted there unless you're a gym rat who spends hours in there a day.

Staff some people with social skills, what do these people even do? All I ever see them doing is walking around.

Once the planet fitness is up, I will be going there. Ten bucks a month, more space, great atmosphere, no stuck up rude teenagers, and literal national geographic pack animals during the summer at the aquatic center.

EDIT: 01/19/19

Just tried to go to the Y today and there wasnt a SINGLE parking space because of whatever was going on at the aquatic center. People were going into the parking lot and turning around. So, paying members of the Y cant use the facilities because of the aquaric center.

I am so frustrated. I cancelled my membership and they still deducted the membership cost from my account. So I called and they said they would return the payment and it apparently takes several days and now due to their mistake I can not buy things I need to cook Thanksgiving dinner. My family's Thanksgiving will suffer due to YMCA'S mistake. Literally infuriated.

I travel every single week and so I end up working out in a lot of different gyms. This has got to be one of the best I have been to. First off the gym was very clean and organized. They have a large selection of equipment including free weights, machines, cardio equipment, CrossFit style area. They also provide classes. For those interested to know they have 3 free weight squat racks and 4 benches. Everything has plenty of space and each squat rack has plenty of weight so you don't have to go hunting around for weight plates. Everyone I dealt with was very friendly. Hopefully I will be back here soon.

This place is amazing. I was passing through the area and stopped by to see if I could buy a day pass. The friendly staff informed me that as a first time visitor I could simply use the facility for free. Jane at the front desk helped me fill out a simple form, and I was in. The facility itself is incredible. Clean and well maintained, the YMCA here has everything you might need for fitness. I was there to lift, and there were three squat racks with plenty of barbells and weights. Great experience. Thank you, YMCA Kingsport! I wish I lived here so I could join!

It has its ups and downs. My children and I love the play ground inside and the place is alwase clean. My biggest problem is their locker room policy and their key cards. Their policy says children over 6 must use the correct locker room. You can also use the family restroom by the aquatic center. The problem is only a men's key card will open the men's locker room and then they have to be at least 10. So you want a 6 year old to use the men's locker room but you don't give them a key to get in or out of it? How does that make sense? If you use the family bathroom then you can't lock up your stuff, use the hair dryers or the swim suit spinner in the locker rooms. Its a nice facility but the locker room situation is not right and needs to be fixed. Beware if you have young children of the oppisit sex.

I see a lot of negative reviews, but I've never had a problem here. The teenagers and other staff are always nice to me. You might get one every now and then who has an attitude problem. Just tell the staff and they will resolve your problems.

I mean it has everything you need cardio, weights, classes, swimming, basketball. What more could you really ask for. They also have financial assistant if you need that.

You can always go to planet fitness and get yelled at for grunting or talking loud.

I am a kid. So yes I know that pools can look gross and stuff. But let me just tell you, this is the best place to cool down at and just let loose and have fun! They will tell you when it's not good to be in the pool and when it is okay to get back in! They also have snacks and drinks, to chill down or/ and heat up with!. Did I mention they have water slides and diving boards to?! Well they do! They have water slides inside and out side! But, I'm not so sure about the diving boards ( I Forgot ) and also I'm not ready for the diving boards yet so I can not tell you about it yet, but I can tell you about the other stuff. Like for instance the water slides! I think they have two water slides outside and one or 2 inside. But the two out side is sick ( cool ) but some kids might not be ready for the water slides outside .But they also have a lazy river. They also have this obstical like ting.
Check it out for your self. I can't wait till go back ( probably here in a couple of weeks! ) But that's what it is and my opinion. Well it's about time I take a dive, good by!
