I have not been here in years and honestly things have changed big time. Buildings are well maintained and organized. The only issue is the parking for the patients other things are so nice. I hope we can see more developments as time goes by.

ATTENTION ALL TOURISTS: Today, on the 26th of October I flew to Riyadh specially to visit the city as I was born there and wanted to see the city I was born in and also the hospital I was born in which is shumaisi hospital. I moved to Canada when i was 5 and have never been back since. I had heard that Saudi Arabia was a place of tourism now so I decided to fly to Riyadh only for 2 days with my father for my birthday. When I arrived at the maternity ward gate i wanted to take a picture as i finally got to see the hospital i was born at when my father used to live and work in Riyadh. I was harassed by security who yelled at me and my father and confiscated my phone by force, who took me to the side of the building where more security who yelled at me in Arabic which I dont understand very well but my father understood and said the security was saying to one another " dont be easy on these tourists they knew not to take pictures and dont let them go take them to the police station" after explaining and showing my passport he reluctantly let me go which made the other security guards even more upset. Not only security but other Saudis , even patients encouraged security and even yelled at me when I tried saying something they shouted "wala kilma" which means shut up. I was scared for my life at this point because I did not want to be jailed in Saudi Arabia for simply taking a picture. This ruined my whole vacation here in Saudi Arabia and I am embarrassed to say that I was even ever born here. I left Riyadh in complete disbelief and disgust. IF THIS IS THE WAY TOURISTS WILL BE TREATED Then all Canadians and foreigners should be made aware of the attitude of the security here and not to take any pictures. If the capital is like this then I imagine the rest of the country will be quite same if not worse in the treatment of tourists.
Dear All, I am very sorry to say that there is no one on reception to guide you what you need. After wasting around the hospital couple of hours you have to go an another hospital . It was a very bad experience, poor hospitality .
Help from A to Z and if they can t help you they will arrange your transfer to other places ,,,
It s a hospital for ppl in need ,,
Strong security with a police station standby
They don t care about eligibility status as long as you are sick
Multiple nationality staff with welcoming attitudes
God bless your souls for facing the huge crowd every single day
Best experience at this hospital.my father was admitted at neurosurgery ward. Best doctors and very caring staff nurses...ICU care was excellent. Neurosurgeon residents, ICU doctors, their one hour discussion time with all attendants of ICU patients, they explain condition of patient very well, listen to you patiently and very well, answer your every single question...In short BEST HOSPITAL...they are not working for just money.
