King's Daughters Medical Center Review

1 star for the ER dept. A Dr lanced a pidonal cyst on my granddaughter without sedating her. She felt every bit of it. Her mother told him to stop and he didn't. She has been in major pain for a week.

I had issue with staff/nurses not suggesting to schedule appointments for next vaccination and routine vaccination.Two separate times-for me and my son. I have no idea about sequences and dates it should be done.So i couldnt get appointment with same doctor because his schedule was full and now have to redo hepatites B vaccination (first one) again for me and my son.This cost me unnecesary expences and having to swith doctors,besides wasting time on first time.This hepatites B vaccination is painful too.Coming frome Europe where nurses always make sure to schedule you on next appointment well in advance this is all seems disorganized.
Tree stars only because of wonderful and very caring gynecologist Dr.Sosa .
If there is vaccination series have to be done,or routine appointment is coming please advise the nurses to schedule next one while patient is right in the office.

I'm in the ER right now and i swear the only things these nurses are good at is avoiding eye contact. The Dr. Asked if i needed a shot for my unbearable back pain and said yes please its been 2 hours and no shot and when I flagged someone down bc i had no assistance button they said an order was never put in. Nothing but a big joke.

Best hospital, I have ever seen!!! The E.R maybe a little slow, however, once you get in they treat you like you are part of their family. Very friendly, and helpful!!! Just wish your wifi worked lol. The rooms look like hotel rooms, Great place!!!

Worst hospital To there employees. Lack of respect, safety and the well being of employees. It's all about the $.

This place is great unless you get the drug addicted murder nurse who calls her doctor friends occasionally to see if her escape plan will make sense after her malpractice leads to the premature death of a patient with a mild case of shingles. The guy was 39.

Aside from her, this place is pretty good, except their rude to patients and drug test all of them looking for any excuse to throw them in jail; meanwhile, they get so high they brag about their degrees from hogwarts, which wouldn t be that bad if they weren t dead serious about it.

If you really need medical assistance and don t want to end up dead or in jail, try a hospital in a state far far away from this commonwelch, like sixty miles north minimum.

Brought mother in law to the ER and although staff was very friendly and tests took an average amount of time, the thought of coming here again makes me sick.
The room where she was placed for waiting, due to her condition, was nothing short of a supply closet. The wait for triage was again, short, and appreciative, but the triage room was very cluttered and filthy.
Once we were placed in a room to be seen by the doctor and for testing to begin it was hard to focus on anything anyone was say saying or what was happening due to the lack of cleaning that had happened in that room for quite some time. The floors were caked with dirt and grime and God only knows what else. The edge of the walls were lined with dust balls. I expect trash bins to be dirty, but this once tan colored bin was now on the verge of turning black around the edges. The hallway smelled of urine and other bodily fluids.
I have been in several hospitals. I have been in this hospital several times. It was the worst I have ever seen... Or smelled. If it hadn't been for the staff KDMC would have gotten a one star rating! Our next emergency room visit, and we hope there isn't one, will not be to KDMC, but to any other ER around!

My wife recently had to take our 5 yr old daughter to the ER at 2 in the morning with a bad case of croup and an asthma flare-up. They got her right in, started her on breathing treatments and steroids, and they were home in less than an hour. Dr. Hostra, Jillian Keeton RN, and the respiratory nurse were fantastic! Thank you for making this such a pleasant experience for my daughter!

I also recently underwent a kidney stone procedure and couldn't have asked for a more pleasant time (as pleasant as kidney stones can be!)

The worse Dr. LatifI have experience with poor bedside manners. Treated patients very disrespectful and make they feel worse then they already do. I wouldn't recommend you to a dog. Thanks for the way you treated me. You should be ashamed. The rest of the staff was great Dr. Gaines and his staff love them and nurses where great.

My Father was employed there, he is deceased now. My only son was Born there. We were treated by Angel's. And today my son is a medical engineer in NY. New York. Retired Navy. Veteran from the 911 bombings. Your Hospital made this birth a gift. Thank you.

Place is a joke. Could of been having a heart attack. Waited 3 hrs in ER waiting room in extreme pain. Everyone just looking. Decided go to different ER.

Worst hospital ever I went in on dec 27th 2020 and they never took me back to a room and said they couldn t help me. This hospital is a joke

Slow, slow, slow you could be waiting to be seen at the ER for hours.

Friendly staff, experienced and talented Physicians. Don't have to drive any place else for the very best care.

Don't come here unless you have good insurance. They will slaughter you on bills for something stupid. Charged me 260 to sit in a room, 170 for a cotton swab up my nose and had to pay 80 something for the medicine. Went in to see if I had the flu, starting to wish I had and just died from it. Will never go back, would rather die

Im not sure who the doctor was that was on staff last night, 7/12/17, i was in way too much pain to catch his name, but he is a wonderful doctor and really went out of his way to help me. I wish more ER doctors were as professional as him and too the time to listen!

It seems like the nursing staff are just here for a pay check. All the ones I've had to deal with during my wife's stay are rude, lazy and rough with their patients. We drove two hours one way for this? After this is over, we'll never use KDMC again.

I don't like the fact only Dr. you can get appt. with at King Daughters in Olive Hill is Melissa Leuenburger. I will not be taking my son back to her and will be changing providers for my family.

This review relates to their ER. To give you a quick version- until the Cleveland Clinic takes over, go to Bellefonte, Cabell or a random person on the street if you want a better chance with your health.

The full version-
I went into the ER with stroke like symptoms and a history of a blood clotting disorder. I was triaged at the bottom, I could not walk properly and the girl lost me on the way to my room-twice. Once I arrived at my room I met with Dr. Jason Collins. He did not listen to my symptoms and I had to continually correct his recountance. He ordered a CBC and I received the results on mychart within minutes. He came back two hours later, diagnosed me with a stomach virus and that was it.
The only symptom I had of a stomach virus was nausea. And this must be a bad "stomach virus" because weeks later I am still not better.

I have suffered a catastrophic neurological event. My functioning as a mother of two small children has suffered great harm.

And I look forward to the medical review panel in our futures.

If your on medicaid (poor people ins)
dont expect much from the drs there they will bill ins for doing nothing
then get you to do a follow up these are herd drs treat nothing but keep the appointments coming for worthless meaningless test that tell nothing
then when you want your data the medical records is always closed
its sad bellfonte closed at least the people had a choice..
far better off going some place else

CURRENTLY AT AN APPOINTMENT HERE AND THE DR. I'M SEEING HAS BEEN VERY RUDE AND WALKED OUT ON ME !

My ex-husband was turned away for care because they didn t have his records and this morning he was found dead. He was diabetic. My 2 sons, his 2 daughters and his 3 step children now left without a dad. His grand children without theirs grandpa... and they couldn t have admitted and helped him???? This is neglect! Everyone that was involved should loose their jobs! He was a good man and deserved treatment and to live!

No transparency at this hospital cover-up closed door meetings about patient complaints,and grievances of hospital negligence,etc.a hospital that is not transparent usually has something to hide.

I decided to use KD's ER because I recently had such a pleasant experience with scheduling a CT. When I was referred to emergency room I choose them. When I got there the registration and information desk associate/staff were very short and edgy. I seen the Dr after x-ray and was told simple explanation but never received answering to questions/issues that had also brought me there. Then the discharge nurse came very friendly an kind and explained some but said ihave to ask the doc about the rest doc never came back. I was discharged and I asked front desk. They told me to wait a second they'd get the physician to speak to me. After about 30mins a nurse came over an scolded me about the information I was asking. Upset and still worried I walked out side got into my car and called the help line. I explained what had happened she was very empathetic an helpful she said just go back in and "the physician will speak with you" so I did and when I got in after waiting some more the physician never came. Although new one came in very brass an matter of fact. She offered an explanation and wanted to do a head ct. I wasn't informed until getting back to a bed that I was going to be billed for another completely separate visit. I didn't know this until after the fact. So I took off all monitors and walked out. I should not be billed for two visits. If I'm billed for two separate visits I will take legal actions to protect myself and file complaints. I
feel I was mislead taken advantage of when all I was seeking was care. Im not sure I can trust them now with my care. This wasnt a pleasant experience. It was embarrassing and I left without understanding the full scope of my issue. When I brought that to their attention they attempt to bill me for another er visit. If you're frightened about a health issue I wouldn't recommend KDMC ER.
