I called and the guy that answered said "surgs curt" so I knew I was gonna have a hard time right off the bat. He gave me another number to call and when I did it went to a voicemail of someone whose mailbox is full. But don't worry I'm gonna call again later and maybe the same exact thing won't happen again.

Whoever answers the phone is unproffesional. She has an attitude and when asking a question about what s the process, my first time dealing with this court. Was told just mail forms and send copies even a paternity test result to prove my 27 year old daughter is my husband s child. What do u think a legal birth certificate is for. So do I mail forms without a Fee?
Since court is closed is there someone physically processing the paperwork? Is there a Judge available to sign letters of administrative?

Attitude adjustment needed desperately . Absolutely obnoxious persons answering inquiries. And the subject matter a deceased loved one. Hmm, a little human compassion goes a long way. But sorry you will not find such at this place. Really one star is inappropriate too bad the option for zero stars is unavailable

I filled out a petition for my mom who passed away in June and was directed so many different offices in the building. No one is on the same page, all unproffesional, rude , and impatient. I'd give this place zero stars if I could.

I'm updating this as of July 2019, I had to fill out some papers but they got sent back not once but three times, and they used my self addressed stamped envelope to send them back! That means I had to pay three times to send it again! One day I called cause I had a question which was about an envelope and when I called, I got the Probate department. The woman I spoke with was so nasty and vile. She tried to play it off like the supervisor wasn't available, then tells me they left for the day. When I told her about her attitude, she told me to document it, almost like she was daring me to tell on her. I called the next day to let the clerk know. I was told to call this place. I'm dealing with the passing of my brother and I'm trying to handle things. A few of the people here have major attitudes. And one of them even said she was a supervisor, not only does she talk loud, she screams at you and is totally impatient. Only one guy tried to help me but with the most recent phone call, he was a bit abrupt and speaks quickly, these people are so nasty, they could make Mother Theresa lose her s... "You might win some but you just lost one!'(Lauren Hill) Just know what you're dealing with when you call these people. If you have an issue, contact the Chief Clerk.

Court was open and staff was helpful but had to go to Cashiers office which closes at 3:45. Door was open and staff was there but at 3:55 I was told they were closed and have to come back.Another waste of taxpayer money. Website could say that the cashier closes at 3:45 even though the court is open.

If you need something from Probate Court, you might as well give up because you're more likely to wrangle a crocodile then get the file you need. King's County Surrogate's court is a real Danger Zone.

I asked for help on various topics. I was treated cordially and with respect. The people whom I spoke with were patient and cooperative. I guess, if you treat them with respect, they'll do the same. Thank you everyone at the kings county surrogate court.
