I love Kima Surf. It was extremely therapeutical to be there for a week together with likeminded people, having great food and being treated so nicely by their staff. Take me back!!!

This is a beautiful place with friendly and helpful staff. The place is really well cared for but also is easy going and felt like home. Great managers and surf coaches/guides too. One of my favourite places in Bali.

Rad surf camp in seminyak not far from airport and close to many surf spots great for learning and also for ripping. They take you every where to.surf the best waves

BEST place to learn surf and chill! What a surprise this place was for me! I sign up for a 5 day stay, with surf classes included with two more friends. And I couldn't be more happy with it! The place is amazing to chill, with two pools available and delicious food at the restaurant! The co space makes it easier to talk and interact with others and the instructors made it happen! They are always happy, talking, playing guitar, getting along. Plus, they are really good at their work in the sea!

Room: Stayed at the Deluxe Bedroom and felt like a lush! The room was well decorated, with two desks, tv, all the amenities in the bathroom (which was outdoor one) and with plenty of room! Bed was super comfy!

Shower: Good shower, spacious one! Towels are large and good toiletries boxes (one for each person of the room)

Wifi: Wifi is ok. Could have been better as was crashing a lot of times but I understand that mainly was due to when I was there, the elections were on and they cut a bit the signals

Food: Was delicious! The options on the restaurant are quite a lot and everything has a good quality! As a constructive feedback, at breakfast sometimes the staff seemed a bit confused and items were not arriving in an ordered way, or people were missing some stuff. But it only happened once and I think because was the busiest morning. But maybe its an opportunity to think on another system to deliver the breakfast more efficiently?!

Staff: very friendly! Heads up def to the instructors, they rule!

Overall: I would absolutely repeat and recommend it to all! Friends and people just are just thinking starting on surf! The instructors are very professional, things are explained with calm and time. No one rushed us to the water and always made us feel they're there for us! Would like to highlight the yoga instructor, I was lucky enough to have a one o one class with him and it was beautiful! Kima Surf is great a place to forget about problems and to just surf/be. I was going to stay for 5 days but end up I staying 2 weeks. I just felt super comfortable with the Kima Surf crew and the people who popped in day by day.

When you come here, its not necessarily the many surf options or amazing accommodation that makes you stay. Its most of all the zero gravity people and the heart opening atmosphere they provide. In the evenings someone just grabbed a guitar or we shared quality conversations as much as the most funny stuff. And no matter if party or not, these guys were waiting in the wings. If you look for a real surf community with soul, thats the place!

Even if I did not join surf sessions, the guides were always present and inclusive. It felt just like we all go surfing. When we had a couple of flat days still there was lot of fun in the camp. It never was boring and as soon as swell came in you could hear the guys cheering - including me.

Lod, Baru and Ajis was one of the best surf guides i had session with, restaurant staff and front office was super friendly and helpful, camp manager Winnie and surf supervisor Anton doing great job to make my stay perfect.

I would recommend the stay for people who look for a good food and accommodation. I again experienced what real comfort means to me. Love every single one of you guys. See you soon!

Expensive for what you get. Rooms have a much higher price than other camps and the surf guidance is far below standard. If you really want to surf or learn how to surf don't go there.

My two weeks at Kima Seminyak were really awesome!
The surfing sessions are well organized. You have to get up relatively early, but it's really worth it! Coming back hungry after a good surf session and earning the delicious breakfast is just a perfect start to the day.
Then in the afternoon 1 to 1.5 hours of yoga. The yoga teacher is really nice and offers different variants of yoga and different levels of difficulty within the lessons.
The staff are so friendly and helpful and speak great English.
In addition to surfing and yoga, a variety of other cool activities are on offer!
It's a super great experience when the whole surf camp goes to the beach on Tuesday and watches the sunset with the coaches and interns. The interns are in the camp all day and you can ask anything at any time.
The camp is also really nice with two pools and a lot of space, it's big and pleasant to chill out.

Nice n chill place for stay..especially for surfer who want to have surf trip around bali or just to improve their surfing..

Such an amazing place in Bali! The hotel has great vibes for everyone and it is really nice and comfortable, the food is fantastic and the staff and instructors are all wonderful! We had never surfed before and had the best time doing the surf camp with Kima Surf! There are other activities like yoga and they have two swimming pools and a hot tub at the property. We loved everything about this place! Highly recommend!

Very nice camp for every level of surfing and the average level of the local guides is very high. Maybe sometimes they have to high expectations for students or just try to push us :).
I checked in for a week without reservation, so I had to switch rooms two times and pay everything in cash. It turned out to be quite difficult, because not every atm in Indonesia works and you have to pay a few extra bucks for foreign transactions. So BOOK ON THE INTERNET! Also you have to book/tell them at least 48 hours before your flight arrives, if you would want a free airport pick-up.
Also you have to walk a bit to get to the Warungs, really cheap, local cuisine, if you don't want to spend money (like European/German standards) in the integrated, good restaurant.

Surf Guides, Staff and restaurant was all amazing! I had the best sessions of my life in this time I was in the surf camp. I met people from all over the world, that was incredible.

All staff super friendly and helpful. Surf guides awesome, all facilities like dorms, rooms and pool were clean and nice, food at the restaurant good too.

Welcome to Bali says the booklet every guest receives on arrival at KIMA. And that s exactly how you feel when you first arrive at the surf camp with a complimentary cocktail from the KIMA team.

EAT

The camp serves an elaborate breakfast till 12 o clock. You can start your day either Indonesian style with e.g. Mie Goreng or with a continental breakfast with cereals, eggs (poached, scrambled, sunny side up etc.) and even bread with Nutella (yes, they have Nutella) or just any other way you like it. Did you go surfing early today and missed breakfast? No problem, you get a voucher and order whatever you like at the restaurant. My favourite after surfing is the spaghetti Bolognese ;)

SLEEP

The camp offers many options for accommodation. There are tipis, dorm rooms, luxury rooms and even luxury suites. You can see KIMA is investing in the camp constantly. Only a few years ago a second pool area with completely new dorms and suites has been created. Also the existing rooms as well as the common areas got a complete makeover. I always book a deluxe room and share it with 1 other guest. As all guests are living the same surf schedule and have a similar mindset, sharing a room is a great way to meet new people and stay in luxury for affordable prices.

SURF

Surfing is what I came to Bali for and the way KIMA approaches the surf sessions is just awesome. You can rent basically ANY type of board you like, there is a maximum of 6 guests per session, with 2 surf guides.

But check this out: you can sign in online for surf sessions you like to join. How does is work? After you login in on the KIMA surf session network, you choose a session you would like to join. It is very easy to choose a good session, as the system indicates the level of surfing that is required for the surfspot.

Is it all about surfing?

You re on vacation, so of course it s not all about surfing. In Seminyak for example, KIMA created a shala for yoga lessons. Every day, except Sundays, there are FREE yoga lessons in the newly built yoga shala. If you want to relax there s also the possibility to have a massage at the camp (by the way: first session is complimentary), so definitely worth a try and get rid of some sore muscles from surfing.

And if KIMA doesn t offer the service than you don t have to go very far. Especially the camp in Seminyak is perfectly located. Restaurants, bars, supermarkets, shops or anything else you might look for is right at your doorstep. The beach is just a 5 minute walk down the street.

Bali has to keep up its reputation for its nightlife (and it does). There s something going on in Bali every night. Seminyak and nearby Canggu and Kuta are full of bars, clubs and events take place all the time. Some famous bars and clubs are walking distance from the Seminyak camp.

Also KIMA organizes many activities. Every Friday there s a free BBQ for all guests. It s also easy to book daytrips to Ubud, temples, diving trips etc. The ladies at the front desk are always willing to help and give advice when needed. I visited KIMA during Christmas and New Year. On Christmas Eve KIMA organizes a Secret Santa evening for the guests and with New Year the Seminyak camp hosts a big New Year s Eve party together with the KIMA surf camp in Canggu. Every Tuesday there s a sunset beer at the beach with the guests from the surf camp.

A lot of guests at KIMA are solo travellers, so you will easily mingle with other people. Not only when you are having a surf session, but also during the rest of the day when you re drinking an espresso at the pool bar or when having a sunset beer on Tuesdays.

Eat-Sleep-Surf and Sampai Jumpa Lagi!

I can recommend kimasurf when you really like to go surfing everyday.
You can surf up to two times a day, it is amazing! The guides are super friendly and really help you to improve your surfing skills!

- Food in the camp is very good! Try the smoothie bowls ;)
- Guides are amazing
- Friendly stuff and interns
- Guests are friendly and you can easy catch on and go out partying
- Prepare yourself to get decent amounts of rupiah with you, because you should pay all stuff cash

There were three of us looking for a surf camp that would meet our needs and that was the case here. Very nice camp site where you feel like you are in a small jungle. The interns are very helpful and can give good tips on the environment.
The food in the camp is very good and always prepared quickly. There is also a great atmosphere with the surf guides, with whom you can have a lot of fun.
Conclusion: If I travel to Bali again, I will go back to the Kima Surfcamp Seminyak

Such a great place ! I loved my stay at Kima. You can surf all day with the surf guided sessions. The surf guides are so nice and helpful. I progressed a lot during my holidays. The rooms are clean, beds comfortable and the food is great. I definitely recommend it. And also the position of the camp is really good, everything is close by.

Stayed here about a week as a solo traveler and thoroughly enjoyed my stay. The place itself is very nice, clean and chill. The room I was in was not luxury, but very comfortable and had all the amenities that were needed. The surf school was 5 days (you get up early in the morning at 6am and are done around 11), and the guides were great. Conditions to learn and improve your surfing are totally there. In the afternoon you can join surfs tours without 1:1 guidance, using the internal sign-up system. They have yoga daily, and 2 pools if you want to chill. If you don t want to bring your own gear, you can rent it there, but what they don t tell you is that you don t actually need any equipment for the surf school. So if you only plan to do the surf school in the morning and then leave for sightseeing, you don t need to do a board rental. Food wise, the breakfast was amazing - lots of options to choose from, and fast service. Coffee is available from 7am-7pm free flow. I also went for half board, which was VERY cheap considering I got main and first course, and the portions were huge. Very good quality here as well, and no Bali belly .
Last but not least, Seminiyak wasn t the nicest part of Bali (on the contrary, I hated it) but the camp and the people made it worth my while, and I met many interesting and cool people.

Me and my girlfriend really like to stay at Kima when she in Bali. WE like to surf All over the island and kima Takes you everywhere tO visit all the surf spots and find the best surf. My girlfriend really like the breakfast and wE Booth like the sun set bintang of tuesday WITA all the guests.

We stayed at Kima Surf Seminyak for 3 nights and we really liked it, the outdoor spaces are beautiful with 2 different pools and the rooms are well decorated and super comfortable.
We didn t try the surf lessons because the waves were not that good while we were there and my husband is already an intermediate surfer so he didn t need the first few lessons but if you are into surfing and want to learn or just hang out with amazing like minded people this is the place to be.
The breakfast is really nice and you can upgrade from the standard option to the deluxe option for just 75K.

This place is paradise. A nice room with perfect view, everything was perfect, from the staff, to the meals, activities (in house yoga and surf instructors), the other guests. We had a perfect time and we will certainly come back.

Quick Tips for young players:
1). I would only get the beginner lessons if you've never surfed before otherwise I would consider skipping straight to the one star sessions.

Great place to improve your surf skill. I have my best wave evere since the guide teach me.Have really nice camp and nice staff. They have healthy breakfast in their restoran. And really professional guide. Recommend this place to all of you who want to improve or learn. Will be back here for more improvement.

I just got back from a week at Kima surf and it's been fantastic. It has just the right about of surfing, yoga, socialising, and personal time. Everyone there was super friendly and looked out for all the guests to have the best possible

I stayed in the Seminyak Camp in summer 2013 for 3 weeks and it was the best holiday EVER! The surf camp is amazing! A large pool, jacuzzi, chill out area, nice tropical plants and palm trees! The staff was very nice, always friendly, very helpful, smiling and making jokes! Food was delicious, i loved the breakfast and the indonesian meals! But best of all was the surf guiding - i never had such a good guiding before!!! I am beginner (since long long time haha), but they totally looked after me, always watching where I was and showing me how to do it right! I improved a lot during this time! Dinner evenings and BBQ parties were lots of fun too! Love this camp and can totally recommend it!

Even though I'm not going to surf pro, it's been a lot of fun. Good accommodation, nice people, good guides

WOW. I have to admit, I am very tough at rating businesses. But this school was THE most amazing and fun time that my friends and I have had in Bali! This was one of THE most amazing experiences ever. I've taken snowboard and ski classes and this surpassed ALL of them. If you want to go somewhere and find knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful staff that love their job, this is the place! Thank you so much, i will DEFINITELY come back!

Super sad to see this place is changing so much. The camp itself, food and surf is still great, the atmosphere has suffered though. Last year, the surfguides were still allowed to spend their free time in the camp, having a beer with the guests and playing the guitar and singing. For me this was one of the main differences compared to other camps and one of the main reasons I felt so at home here, making friends with people from this part of the world and getting to know their culture. I m very sad that more and more rules and restrictions for them have made those amazing nights a rarity.

Right. I ve been to this Camp 3 times and have to say...i love it. Clean, friendly and best of all: you don't have to think. They do everything for you. Bring you to the spots and take care. And even if sth happend thats not there fault, they try make it better and help you. Thumbs up

It was my third time to visit this camp in one year. That should tell you all about this place. Perfect in any way. Staff, surf instructors, food, people..whole atmosphere. Last visit was in "off season" and again camp was full and we have surf every day... Those guys Kima surf instructors they will drive you through entire island if needed to find waves! Super surf camp situated close to some great beach breaks on the west coast of Bali. Heaps of cool new people to meet and the staff are really helpful. They have chillout areas and even a treehouse. I really like they search for surf two times a day

The prettiest surf camp in the world, seriously the place is so wonderfully designed and the lay out is very accommodating. You can surf twice a day and the included breakfast is perfect after a big morningsurfing. Looking forward to next time

Cute setting, though I though it was a bit expensive for what it was. I got a (shared) double room, small bed, safe, fan (no air conditioner) that s about it. Pretty minimal but for Bali expensive. They did comp me a 20 min massage but I think that was standard.

The BIGGEST issue was trying to pay them. I had to pay 1/2 via bank wire or transfer wise, their instructions were for Europeans, so I had to figure out exchange from usd to eu to rupiah and then hope that they were not a scam. At the place, remaining payment is cash only. I ve never struggled so much to pay someone for their services.

Crowd is early 20s, I didn t spend much time with them, just saw people as I was coming and going. Breakfast was basic but good.

Overall, not sure it was worth the money and I d return.

I was at the camp for a few weeks, always cool guests to hang with. Great staff that made sure everyone had a good time. Good facilities in a nice area thats close to good surf! Will definitely go back!!
