With how much hype there is about killarney I must say I was disappointed. The park was nice although I didn't love that they only have outhouses. There is nice hiking trails and the beach was just just down the road from our site. Would prefer if there was a useful town close by as we went into the tiny town of killarney and went to their local store as we need a few items, when we got back to our site we notice the bread was moldy and the bbq sause was opened so need to drive to sudbury an hour and a half away.

We hiked (walk, stop, collect acorns, eat at the top, rest, enjoyed the view) slowly for 2.5 hours (1 hour up, 1 hour eating and enjoying the top, 1/2 hour down) the short part of Granite Ridge trail (we didn't do the long loop just came out the same way in) with 2 8 year olds in flip flops, a 5 year old and 4 year old. They had no problems and had a great time. You need to get your parking pass across the road at the George Lake office.

An incredible park with breathtaking views, clear water, beautiful hikes. We went on a busy weekend (Covid) and not even a holiday weekend and still all fully booked. If you are expecting any park in Ontario to be secluded and private, think again. I haven't found one yet. They are all booked and even the sites that have "good" privacy, still put you at the mercy of having good neighbors (we had mindless neighbors who were jabbering till 12:30 am). Thankfully the Park Warden was really responsive and respectful - get the park warden's number when you check-in in case you have to call for backup! The sites at this park are for the most past sloped, so expect it. The private sites facing the lake are really nice, but you should still expect people to randomly come across your site / view from time to time.

Amazing spot for everything from car camping to multiday hiking and portaging. Reserve your spot early and enjoy the super clean amenities. And, of course, an incredible slice of the Canadian Shield.

Beautiful park. We kayaked all over Lake Huron and were virtually alone on the water. It was very beautiful with lots of granite to stop and get out of the kayaks. The water was also very clear with massive beautiful granite under us in the water. I've never kayaked such a beautiful place. We stayed at Killarney Mountain Lodge which has free kayak usage. I highly recommend the lodge as well.

Beautiful park. We arrived really late and the park attendants were gone. Called the warden who told us to pick a site and pay on the way out. Very accommodating. The showers were huge and the water pressure was excellent.

One of the best provincial parks for backcountry paddling (along with Algonquin of course). Killarney has amazing granite and limestone cliffs that rise out of the water, making swimming and sightseeing excellent. The limestone has also resulted in many dead lakes which are ecologically saddening but do mean wonderful visibility and crystal clear waters. This trip kept us on the exterior lakes of Johnnie and Carlyle but past trips spanned George lake and OSA lake. You can also hit up the huge loop of the La Cloche hiking trail or just hike The Crack for amazing views. This is the fourth or fifth year canoeing the park and we will definitely be back for many years after. (Or we may stop by Algonquin for a bit of a different landscape).

HONEST REVIEW-
Now is this park worth visiting yes its quite beautiful especially if you are into Portage they are many lake encompassing the park to kayak and fish. Now if you are trying to check out the scenic lookout it's about a 4 hr hike and it's quite difficult I personally dont think its worth the view but it is still a nice they aren't many hiking trails in this park if your into scenic hike I recommend algonquin or manitoulin island beautiful lookout that are easy to hike and less the 4hr just giving my take on it :)

Stunning park, stunning trails, it does get super busy in the summer months though and sadly the public washrooms by the visitor centre become a mess. No traffic restrictions so it gets so packed that you have to park in ditches and on the shoulder of the highway, which makes it very dangerous. They should consider someone managing the lots as there s only so many moderate hikes and the parking lots for these fill up super quickly during the summer. Absolutely recommend visiting though.

Definitely one of the best provincial parks in Ontario. Our campsite of choice was a drive in campsite, and it had the best lake view. Our campsite backed out right onto the lake and the site was large enough for 2-3 large tents.
At the campsite, we were still able to get LTE network which was nice. Our campsite was very private and had our own private trail leading down to a sandy beach.
We only had time to check out The Crack trail and it was worth it. Not the easiest trails with lots of climbing over rocks and boulders. But after finally reaching the top, the view was spectacular! We brought our dog with us, but a caution, some of these rocks are super sharp so we had to carry him on some parts of the climb to the top and down
Unlike some provincial parks, the park store does not carry and snacks or food, so be sure to pack enough for your stay. Or you could visit town that s not a long drive away.
Overall an amazing experience and would definitely come back.

Killarney is something out of a story book, the trees here are old and un-logged. People are friendly and of good spirit. I lost my had in the woods one night, came back about a week later and found it sitting on a trail post close to where I lost it. If you want to bring an rv, car camp or generally camp book in advance! It s Ontario s Yosemite in my opinion

Had an incredible trip here last October. Would recommend it to anyone looking for a true escape. Hiking and canoeing we ran into 3 people over 4 days, total privacy on back country camp sites. Check in and cost were very reasonable.

Note: We didn t encounter any bugs or much wildlife in October.

My favourite provincial park. The sights are amazing, the people are amazing, and so is the fish and chips truck just outside the park. It is far away from the big city but well worth the travel time to get there. Not as big as algonquin but it makes up for in the fact that it is also not as crowded. Amazing trails, amazing lakes and views, and well worth visiting. A.Y. Jackson did us all a favor by sticking up for Killarney and assuring that its beauty was preserved for future generations to see.
