real cool, kindof hidden but worth walking upstairs! I met tons of politicians, some really major players and it made it very interesting. It's Lori's favorite place in newark. the place is clean, large, ton of barspace plus cool handmade exotic-looking wood booths, dancefloor and private event areas
I'm shocked that this place has a low rating. Kildare's was my favorite bar in college and after graduation. I used to look forward to going here every so often and for special occasions. Definitely a college bar, but it's not unlikely to see townies there. Drinks are good for the most part. Never tried the food there. UD students get in for free (like anywhere on Main Street). DJs are usually always good. I've only had one bad experience partying there when my bf got into a fight but the bouncers and owner knew it wasn't caused by us, gave him a towel to clean up and a free Kildares shirt. I have a lot of respect for that place.
Great food and atmosphere, if your are looking for quiet this place is not it! Not over loud but it is a college Irish pub!
This use to be a good spot, but no longer, bad food, crappy service, and bad management. Make sure you have blonde hair, and blue eyes, or your not getting in.

This place has became worse over time. The place is always so hot and service is almost nonexistent. We spent half an hour waiting for some one to help us. half the stuff always seem to be pissed off.
