About Kid museum
Kid Museum: Empowering the Next Generation to Invent the Future
Kid Museum is a non-profit organization that aims to empower children and youth with the skills they need to invent the future. Founded in 2011, Kid Museum has been providing hands-on learning experiences for children and youth in Montgomery County, Maryland, and beyond.
At Kid Museum, we believe that every child has the potential to be a maker, an innovator, and a problem solver. We provide opportunities for children and youth to explore science, technology, engineering, art, and math (STEAM) through interactive exhibits, workshops, camps, classes and other programs.
Our mission is to inspire creativity and curiosity in young minds by providing them with access to cutting-edge technologies such as 3D printing and robotics. We also encourage collaboration among our young learners so that they can learn from each other's ideas.
Our programs are designed for children of all ages - from preschoolers to high school students. We offer a variety of programs throughout the year including after-school programs during the school year as well as summer camps during school breaks.
One of our most popular programs is our Maker Faire NoVa which brings together makers of all ages from across Northern Virginia for a day-long celebration of creativity. This event features hands-on activities such as soldering workshops or building cardboard forts alongside demonstrations by local makers showcasing their latest creations.
We also offer field trips for schools or groups who want an immersive STEAM experience at Kid Museum. Our field trips are tailored according to age group so that students can get maximum benefit out of their visit.
At Kid Museum we believe in making STEAM accessible for everyone regardless of their background or financial situation. That's why we offer scholarships for families who cannot afford our program fees.
