Our experience building with Key Land was great. We worked with Rod during the planning stages, and he was extremely helpful in facilitating customizations to our build to fit exactly what we wanted, and made several suggestions that guided us the rest of the way in terms of upgrade allowances and updates on our build timeline. I don't believe we could have come close to that level of attention and customization with the larger-scale builders in the metro area.

Bad quality homes. The maintenance guy argued everything we pointed out and wanted fixed; for example, the French doors were out of alignment. You should not have to open both doors just to close the doors. They would only repaint one wall in the room now making the other walls not match. The fireplace should not be blowing cold air right through the gas line entry. They would not even come out to inspect. The drywall tape in the garage was done so poorly it is starting to fall off. Poot quality and poor service especially from the maintenance supervisor. Avoid this builder.

We built 4 years ago with Key Land and we had a seamless experience with Kari C. We are looking again and wouldn t hesitate to build with them again. We also had a great experience with Troy the job supervisor, he addressed any concerns we had. Thanks again!

You can not ask anyone better than Rod Boone the Sales Consultant for Keyland. He was always helpful, attentive, thorough, detailed, patience. We worked with him for more than an year before settling on our house. He always showed his smiley face. Compared to other builders Keyland allowed the most customization. I just moved to my new house. My experience so far has been really good. Hopefully the build quality will be proven excellent over the time.

Our family had a great experience working with Kari at Key Land Homes. As new home buyers we were given many options to customized our home. We had great customer service and helpful recommendations from location to layout to meet our specific needs!

his company is terrible. We've built 3 times and this is by far the WORST experience we've ever had. I will not recommend them to ANYONE. They are not a custom builder... They build things how "they see fit" and do not consult the customers on the decisions. Communication between the sales and contractors it absolutely terrible!! We haven't even moved in yet and if we wouldn't be out so much money I would walk away now. Terrible company, terrible product!

I don't know if I can adequately say what an amazing job and experience I had! Kari with Key Land Homes was on point and helped every step of the way! Kudos to Kari for helping us find our dream home! I will definitely recommend to friends and family.

I always have a positive experience when interacting with our Key Land Homes representative Matt Just. He s knowledgeable and, most importantly, responsive. I feel confident in recommending our clients to work with Key Land as we know they will receive the proper customer service and care as they look to build their new place to call home.

I'm a former builder and project manager. Worked in both Montana and state of Washington for a large builder and was responsible for multiple crews, scheduling, and overall build quality of multiple homes simultaneously. Purchased a Keyland home that at the time was a foundation, allowing us to customize a lot of features which we did.

The process was and still is a complete nightmare beginning with their rep, Kelly McCauley. We requested minor changes be made that she said they couldn't complete due to permit issues. I called the county planning department and they assured me she was wrong. We let it go anyway because I don't want to argue it.

Next. Change order pricing. This woman couldn't get any price or item organized. We requested an itemized list of what items in the house we could change and customize. She says there is no list. Well, that can't be right. In all my years I've never heard of a builder that doesn't provide a list of which items you can change.
She then proceeds to send us multiple emails with multiple change orders, where each change order has the same items but at different prices. We correct her and explain that she not only got the items wrong but also the prices. Over the next three months she unravels and has a mental breakdown of sorts.

We receive a plethora of emails from her stating "sign this ammendment to the purchase agreement asap or you will lose your home". I check with title, underwriters, realtors for assurance. They all reassure me that there is no rush and I can take my time. So I do.

After months of phone calls, and emails, where we do her job for her. Correct her incorrect and disorganized documents we finally get things squared away.

Then we do the home inspection. The worst paint job I've ever seen. Followed by the worst trim and finish work. There are large gaps between the trim and the wall. I ask them to spend $30 for 6 tubes of caulk to go around the house and caulk the trim. She comes back and says, I quote "that will be $2k charge for us to do that". I ask that they sand, clean, prime, and repainted the walls because it is horrible and she says "this is what you paid for. We don't use a higher quality paint, we don't do a better job because you purchased the 2000 series home. If you want a better paint job you have to purchase a 3000 series home".
Description of paint issues:
1. Wall paint smudged on ceiling
2. Wall paint transparent in places due to not applying a thick enough coat.
3. Globs of wall paint in random places.
4. Brush marks. Very visible marks from the paint brush.
5. Paint texture inconsistent. Likely due to painters getting debris in their paint. Stems from a quality control issue i.e. not checking walls prior to paint day.
Description of sheetrock issues:
1. Mud/tape not sanded. Leaving rough texture that the painters painted over.
2. Seams not filled with enough mud. Leaving visible sheetrock seams after the painters completed their work.
3. Holes/scratches/marks in sheetrock were patched after paint day. The issue with doing this on the scale they do it, is that it is very visible to the naked eye. It looks like a 40 year old college apartment where you will have a space of neatly painted wall with very visible patchwork.

If you're reading this and thinking "oh, it's one person who's been affected by this. That's a small sample size". No worries. We have spoken to a handful of neighbors in the same development who also purchased Keyland homes and every single person has stated the same thing. The key and predominate issues were paint and finish work.

Stay away from Keyland and their rep Kelly McCauley . They don't work with you, and will fight everything every step of the way.

Go find a builder that will work with you. That has a rep who knows what they're talking about it. Is organized and honest. They're out there just not at Keyland.

I invite Keith, Gary, or Kevin to come see the house in person and tell me they stand by their quality.

Kari is an amazing Key Land Consultant. We had so many questions along the way when building our new home to which she always knew or could find the answer. She exceeded our expectations throughout the entire home buying process.

We built our dream home through Kristen White with Keyland Homes. We are an extremely picky and indecisive couple, which can be frustrating, even for us, but Kristen never rushed us and was very patient. Kristen gave us all the information we needed for each decision so we could make sure we were making the best decisions. In the midst of making all the decisions to build our home, Kristen even sold our last home and sold it fast!! We highly recommend Kristen! She has great communication, is honest, follows through, and is everything we needed in a realtor!

I've built 2 houses with Keyland Homes and would use them again in the future if I ever decide to move. Friendly people from beginning to end. They were great about accommodating changes I wanted to make to the plan and offered great suggestions that I hadn't thought of. They also provided good suggestions on finishing touches. I love my home.

Many issues with brand new home purchase. Window is leaking, tub wasn't seated correctly, floor not glued down and is coming up. Window was missing latch, doorbell wasn't installed, outlet didn't work. Each time it takes weeks to get someone out to look at the issue and get it resolved. I still don't have the window or floor fixed.

I would never buy a Key Land home again. Our home is less than 5 years old and screws are backing out and causing bumps in sheet rock. I could walk through and point out 20-25 examples of this right now. Shouldn't be the case. Shouldn't have to worry about this after 5 years. A couple of the windows in our home do not close correctly. Unimpressed

We had an amazing experience from start to finish on our new construction home! Our selling agent, Rod, was attentive, informative, and available when we needed him. We enjoyed the ability to really customize our home the way we wanted, and we now have our forever home that has everything we dreamed of. Thank you, Key Land, for all you did to make our dreams come true!

The experience we had with Amy Meissner at Key Land Homes was phenomenal. Key Land has the ability to make your vision come a reality with the homes they build. Great product and attention to detail, even better customer service and building experience! Build with Key Land and ask for Amy!

Absolute worst experience working with their team to get answers and support. I would RUN and find a new builder. Not responsive and will lie to get their money. Go with a different builder - absolutely not worth it even if it's a little more affordable on the front end. They will disappoint you without a doubt.

If I could check no stars I would. We bought a 3 year old twin home in Lakeville 13 years ago built by this company - cracks in the walls, screws beginning to emerge from sheet rock, doors do not stay open all the way, windows are so cheap frost builds up, cheap wood cabinets, patio slabs are separated and crooked and turning black in color, outlets that barely keep the plugs in anymore and now a leaking pipe under the concrete. We are on a concrete slab so probably will have to have the concrete dug up where we find where the leak is at. The home is 16 years old but our other home we had previously was over 30 years old and had none of these problems - would NEVER recommend Key Land to anyone.

We re definitely glad that we decided to go with Keyland. We had prior plans of another builder, until one day we came across a Keyland model home. When we checked it out, we absolutely loved the quality and the layout. That s where we first meet Keyland s sales agent Kari Curielli, she was very helpful with our questions and helped show us other model homes in the area. When we were finally ready to build months later, we knew we had to get in touch with Kari again. We found the perfect open concept layout with the Parker plan. The building process was definitely quick with great quality work. With being first time homeowners and first time builders we truly enjoyed our experience with Kari and Keyland!

We love our Keyland home. We skipped the building process and purchased an already built home. We are very happy with the buying process & the warranty's that Keyland offers. The home is great quality and you can just see that they care about their craftsmanship. Our closing was very educational and it was great to learn about the features of our home and how to care for it.

My wife and I had a great experience working with Key Land Homes, and Rod Boone. Key Land allowed for home customization at reasonable prices that simply could not be matched by other builders. Key Land's sales associates were great to work with, specifically Rod Boone. He was always available to answer our questions quickly and honestly. Even after the sale closing of our new home, Key Land was very helpful in addressing some question I had. Their support did not stop after the sale was complete. They were very prompt in addressing and helping facilitate warranty issues that came up, and making sure they were resolved by the appropriate contractor. I would highly recommend Key Land to anyone interested in building a new home.

This rating belongs solely to Keyland but I will extend it to the contractors hired as well. Shame on Keyland for hiring such garbage, there was zero attention to detail in the building of my house (apparently quality control on their end isn t a thing). Our center island shakes when we walk as well as the fridge, carpet nails are exposed everywhere, our pantry door does not line up, the bottom trim on the garage door entry is no longer attached... definitely not what you would expect within year one of owning a new home.

My wife and I knew that we wanted to build a home that was uniquely ours and found Key Land Homes through extensive research of local builders. After meeting with Key Land and visiting one of their homes and comparing it to other builders, we knew that Key Land was the best builder for us. From the moment we signed the contract up through the final walk-through, the team went above and beyond to make our home a reality. To be honest, the quality, flexibility, service and customer care is top notch and we would recommend Key Land to anyone looking to build a home that will last and is built with care and thoughtfulness.
